1.Nagaland and Meghalaya assembly elections end today evening :-

The campaign for Nagaland and Meghalaya assembly elections will end today evening. The leaders of various political parties are engaged in the last attempts to make voters in their rallies at different places. Large leaders of different parties also addressed public meetings in support of their candidates. In both the states, voting will be held on 27th February. Counting of votes in three states of Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura in the North-East will be on March 3. These three states have 60-60 members in the Legislative Assembly.

 

2.Late actress Sridevi dies due to heart attack in Dubai, PM condoles mourning :-

3.NIA started the process of issuing red corner notice of Interpol against Pakistani diplomat Amir Zubair Siddiqui :-

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has started the process of issuing Red Corner notices to Interpol against Pakistani diplomat Amir Zubair Siddiqui. A chargesheet was filed last week against Amir Zubair on charges of conspiracy to plot terrorist attacks on US and Israeli consulates in South India. It is alleged that Amir Zubair had conspired in the terror attacks in India during his deployment in the Pakistani High Commission in Sri Lanka in 2014.

 

4.Democrats issued counter-memo for Russian investigations :-

5.UN Security Council demands 30-day ceasefire for humanitarian assistance in Syria :-

The United Nations Security Council approved the 30-day ceasefire proposal for humanitarian and medical assistance in Syria last night unanimously. More than five hundred people have been killed in the seven-day bombing of the government army in eastern Gauta-occupied areas of the rebels. This is the last state with the control of rebels in Syria. Diplomats said that United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guteras will report to the Security Council about the ceasefire in 15 days.

 

6.Eight companies out of top 10 raise market cap of Rs 58,650 crore :-

The market capitalization (market cap) of eight of the top ten of the Sensex has increased by Rs 58,650.26 crore in the last week. IT sector TCS was the most profitable. Only Hindustan Unilever and Maruti Suzuki’s market capitalization declined in the top ten list. There was an increase in market valuation of Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, ITC, HDFC, Infosys, ONGC and SBI.

TCS’s market valuation went up by Rs 26,742.6 crore to Rs 5,89,007.15 crore in the reporting week. RIL’s market capitalization went up by Rs 7,790.98 crore to Rs 5,91,607.74 crore. Infosys’s market cap grew by Rs 6,729.43 crore to Rs 2,52,407.03 crore. HDFC’s market capitalization grew by Rs 5,963.88 crore and stood at Rs 2,96,103.60 crore. The market capitalization of ONGC increased by Rs 4,363.3 crore to Rs 2,43,831.47 crore.

State Bank of India (SBI) has benefited Rs 3,754.95 crore during the week and its market valuation has reached Rs 2,38,331.01 crore. ITC’s market valuation increased by Rs 3,292.16 crore to Rs 3,28,057.31 crore.

In the top ten list, Reliance Industries remained the first place. After that, the position of TCS, HDFC Bank, ITC, HDFC, Hindustan Unilever, Maruti, Infosys, ONGC and SBI were in place. The Sensex, which had gained 131.39 points or 0.38 percent in the previous week .

 

7.Ministry of Commerce & Industry launched a comprehensive campaign to promote products related to its geographical origins :-

The Union Commerce and Industry Ministry has started a comprehensive campaign to promote close proximity to its geographical origins. Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu said that the aim of the campaign is to promote local craftsmen and manufacturers. He said that this campaign has been started with geographical indications of some of the selected products such as the identification of a special place from Banarasi saris.

 

8.DRDO successfully tested Rustam 2 flight  :-

The DRDO successfully tested the Rustam 2 flight from its Aeronautical Test Range (ATR) at Chalkradurg, located at Daler. This flight is very important because of this fact because this is the first flight in user configurations with high power engines. All standards are normal. Dr. Christopher, Secretary, Department of Defense and DRDO, Dr. C.P.
