1. Vice President inaugurates 36th International Surajkund Fair in Faridabad

Vice President  Jagdeep Dhankhar  inaugurated  the 36th International Surajkund Fair  in  Faridabad  . This time the theme of the fair is  based on the eight states of North-East India  .  Special items from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim will be seen in this fair which will run till February 19  . More than eleven hundred stalls have been set up in the fair. In which  Pakistan, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan Stalls from countries like District Information and Public Relations Officer, Rakesh Gautam said that tourists can enjoy the fair from 10.30 am to 8.00 pm. The entry fee for the fair has been kept at Rs 120 on normal days, while on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays people will have to pay Rs 180 for entry.

Four Indian-American lawmakers –  Raja Krishnamurthy, Pramila Jaipal, Ami Bera and Ro Khanna  – have   been appointed as members of key committees of the US Congress . 3. For the first time a Prime Minister participated in the program of Krishnaguru Sevashram

Participating in Krishnaguru Eknam Akhand Kirtan for World Peace  in  Assam  ‘s  Barpeta  via video conferencing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the new announcements made in the recent Union Budget will greatly benefit Assam and the Northeast. 7. Goa Government launches ‘The Vision for All School Eye Health’ program

 The Government of  Goa has launched the Vision for All School Eye Health  program  in partnership with  OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation  and  Prasad Nethralaya . The program is an extension of the current Vision for All Goa Eye Health Program. The Vision for All Goa eye health program started in February 2021 and its monthly camps have screened 50,000 citizens and provided free spectacles to 16,000 people. Vision 2000 for All School Eye Health will focus on training teachers on basic visual acuity tests for children in their respective schools, followed by detailed refraction by qualified professionals from Prasad Nethralaya. OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation is committed to providing 25,000 free eyeglasses to children with refractive errors.

8. Punjab’s Policy on Ground Water Utilization: Key Points

In June 2022, the  Central  Ground Water Board reported that  Punjab’s groundwater (in the first 100 m reaches) would run out by 2029In 2039, the groundwater (in the 300 m reach) will run out .   • Green Zone: The fee here ranges from Rs 4 to Rs 14. This means that the ground water gets recharged a bit quicker. However, continued extraction will hinder its replenishment and cause dryness.
  • Yellow Zone: The fee here ranges from Rs 6 to Rs 18
  • Orange Zone: The fee ranges between Rs 8 to Rs 22

9. ISRO releases report on SSLV mission failure

In August 2022 ,  the Indian Space Research Organization  launched  the Small  Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV). It  carried two satellites  and both satellites became unusable. This  mission was declared a failure . ISRO recently released a report detailing the reasons for the failure of the mission. ISRO’s investigation concluded that  vibration disturbance was the main reason for the failure of the mission. Was. SSLV-D1 was programmed to place the satellite into an orbit of 356 km. Instead, it placed the satellite in a 76 km orbit. This is due to sensor failure. The decrease in velocity resulted in incorrect orbital placement. During the second stage of separation, vibrational disturbances occurred. These vibrations caused the inertial navigation system to fail and the sensors to fail. SSLV is a three stage launch vehicle. On the other hand, PSLV is a four stage launch vehicle. In addition, SSLV had a new inertial navigation system which ISRO was using for the first time. It uses enough gyros (6) to monitor rotation rates. All gyros experienced measurement saturation during the flight.

10. International Monetary Fund rejects demand for concessions in repayment of seven billion dollars to bail out Pakistan from debt

Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Officer Jeevan Fernando told agencies that  50 sites related to Ramayana have been identified to promote tourism from India to the island  . He said the island nation is diverse and its many places can attract pilgrims from India and other Buddhist countries. Mr. Fernando said that during the last few years, Sri Lanka did several promotions in India for Ramayana tourism. Most Indians go to Sri Lanka for a holiday and visit at least one Ramayana site.

12. First Saras Livelihood Fair begins in Jammu

The 11-day first SARAS Aajeevika Mela  begins in Jammu. This fair  will continue till February 14  . In this fair, women belonging to self-help groups of rural areas will get an opportunity to sell and promote self-made products and connect with marketing platforms. In the fair, artists and women from self-help groups from across the country will display their art, handicrafts, handlooms and food items. More than 75 stalls and ten food courts have been set up in the fair.

13. First G-20 Sustainable Financial Working Group meeting concludes in Guwahati

The first G20 Sustainable Financial Working Group meeting in Guwahati  was  attended  by 95 delegates, 10 invited countries and 14 international organizations. Several other international organizations joined the meeting through virtual means. 15. Jammu and Kashmir Administration announces cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants in the Union Territory

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has  announced a major project for  the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants  in the Union Territory  . The Rs 62-crore five-year project  aims to cultivate medicinal and aromatic plants on 5,000 kanals of land in 28 clusters. With this, more than 3 thousand jobs and 28 enterprises will be created. 17. Railway Minister said – Mail and Express train coaches will be converted into LHB coaches to ensure the safety of passengers

Railways will open shops at two thousand railway stations across the country, in  which items of basic needs will be available. Railway Minister  Ashwini Vaishnav  said in New Delhi that passengers would be able to buy daily use items like soap, toothpaste and towels at these shops. These shops will remain open 24 hours on all days of the week. 19. Reserve Bank of India – Digital Payments Index released

RBI created Digital Payments Index  to know about  digital payments  in the country   . This index is calculated on the basis of five parameters namely  Payment Enablers, Consumer Centricity, Payment Infrastructure on Demand Side and Payment Infrastructure on Supply Side . This index is calculated with 2018 as the base period. 2023 DPI in India is 377.46. In 2022 it was 349.30 and in 2021 it was 304.06. With this, the RBI concluded that there has  been a 24.13% increase in digital payments in the country. happened. UPI- Unified Payments Interface grew by 1.3%. UPI is a multi-bank account system. NPCI processes transactions worth over ₹6,752 crore in FY2023. In 2022, this platform will handle transactions worth 7,404 crores. Fintech adoption in India increased to 87%. Globally it was 64%.

20. Morgan Stanley names Arun Kohli as new country head for India

21. V Ramachandra appointed as a member of the advisory committee of SIFL, SEFL by RBI

The Reserve Bank of India  has appointed  Shri V Ramachandra  as the  Managing Director of Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited (SIFL)  and  Srei Equipment Finance Limited (SEFL). Appointed as a member of the Advisory Committee of After replacing the boards of SIFL and SEFL in October 2021, the RBI had formed a three-member advisory council to support the administrators of the two troubled enterprises. During the corporate insolvency resolution process, the Advisory Committee will advise the Administrator regarding the management of SIFL and SEFL. Former Deputy Managing Director of State Bank of India Venkat Nageswara Chalasani and former Managing Director of Sundaram Finance Limited T. Srinivasaraghavan are the other two members of the committee. The Kolkata Bench of the National Company Law Tribunal received applications from the RBI in October 2021 for initiating the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process against SIFL and SEFL (NCLT).

22. Mahanadi Coalfields Limited introduces aerial drone technology and latest safety equipment

 CPSE  Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) , a flagship Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Coal ,  has   introduced drone technology in coal mines by launching Vihangam  , a web-based portal with  drone and ground level control system . The portal allows authorized personnel to access real-time drone video through a specially authorized 40 Mbps internet leased line near mines. It also has a control center which operates the drone and the special thing is that the entire system can be operated from anywhere through a portal. This pilot project is currently being undertaken  at Bhuvaneshwari and Lingaraj opencast mines  of  Talcher Coalfields  .

24. Inflation reached the peak of 48 years in Pakistan
