1.विश्व बैंक ने अफगानिस्तान परियोजनाओं के लिए $500 मिलियन पैकेज को मंजूरी दी :-
(I)विश्व बैंक ने अफगानिस्तान के लिए 500 मिलियन डॉलर से अधिक के वित्तपोषण को मंजूरी दी है, जिससे अर्थव्यवस्था को बढ़ावा देने के लिए परियोजनाओं की एक श्रृंखला को शुरु किया जा सकता है, पांच शहरों में सेवा वितरण में सुधार लाने में मदद मिलेगी और अफगान शरणार्थियों को पाकिस्तान से वापस भेज दिया जाएगा।
(II)बैंक ने कहा कि “जब अनिश्चितता के समय अर्थव्यवस्था में जोखिम बढ़ेगा” तो 520 मिलियन डॉलर डोनर मनी सहित छह अनुदान, अफगान सरकार की मदद करेंगे।
World Bank approves $500 million grant package for Afghanistan projects :-
(I)The World Bank has approved financing worth more than $500 million for Afghanistan to support a string of projects to boost the economy, help improve service delivery in five cities and support Afghan refugees sent back from Pakistan.
(II)The bank said the six grants, including donor money, worth some $520 million would help the Afghan government “at a time of uncertainty when risks to the economy are significant.”

(I)डेविड ग्रॉसमैन मैन बुकर इंटरनेशनल प्राइज जीतने वाले इजरायल के पहले लेखक बन गए हैं।
(II)उन्होंने अपनी किताब ‘अ हॉर्स वॉक्स इनटू अ बार’ के लिए £ 50,000 का नकद पुरस्कार अनुवादक जेसिका कोहेन के साथ साझा किया।
(III)यह पुरस्कार पहले एक करियर उपलब्धि के लिये दिया जाता था, लेकिन पिछले साल से एकल पुस्तक के लिये दिया जाने लगा।
(IV)2016 में, दक्षिण कोरिया की हान कांग को ‘द वेजिटेरियन’ के लिये पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया था।
Israeli author David Grossman wins Man Booker International prize :-
(I)David Grossman has become the first Israeli author to win the Man Booker International Prize.
(II)He split the £50,000 cash award for his winning book, ‘A Horse Walks into a Bar’, with translator Jessica Cohen.
(III)The prize was previously a career honor, but changed last year to recognize a single book.
(IV)In 2016, the prize was awarded to ‘The Vegetarian’ by South Korea’s Han Kang.
3.ग्लोबल इनोवेशन इंडेक्स में भारत छह स्थान चढकर 60वें स्थान पर :-
(I)भारत ग्लोबल इनोवेशन इंडेक्स (जीआईआई) 2017 में 130 देशों के बीच छह स्थानों के सुधार के साथ 60वें स्थान पर आ गया है, जो मध्य और दक्षिण एशिया में शीर्ष-स्तरीय अर्थव्यवस्था के रूप में उभर रहा है।
(II)कॉर्नेल विश्वविद्यालय, इनसीड और विश्व बौद्धिक संपदा संगठन द्वारा तैयार सूचकांक, एशिया में उभरते हुए नवाचार केंद्र के रूप में भारत के उदय को दिखाता है, हालांकि देश चीन से काफी पीछे है, जो 22 वें स्थान पर है।
(III)2017 में, स्विट्जरलैंड लगातार सातवें वर्ष के लिए रैंकिंग में प्रथम है।
India moves up six places to 60th on Global Innovation Index: Report :-
(I)India has moved up six places to 60th among 130 nations on the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2017, emerging as the top-ranked economy in Central and South Asia.
(II)The index, co-authored by Cornell University, INSEAD and World Intellectual Property Organisation shows India’s rise as an emerging innovation centre in Asia, although the country ranks far behind China which occupied the 22nd spot.
(III)In 2017, Switzerland leads the rankings for the seventh consecutive year.
4.नीरू चड्ढा आईटीएलओएस में पहली भारतीय महिला न्यायाधीश बनी :-
(I)भारतीय वकील डॉ नीरु चड्डा अंतर्राष्ट्रीय निकाय के चुनाव के बाद अंतर्राष्ट्रीय समुद्र न्यायाधिकरण कानून (आईटीएलओएस) में न्यायाधीश बनने वाली पहली भारतीय महिला होगी।
(II)आईटीएलओएस में 2017 से 2026 तक उनका नौ साल का कार्यकाल होगा।
(III)आईटीएलओएस शीर्ष संयुक्त राष्ट्र निकाय है जो समुद्र के कानून से संबंधित अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मामलों का फैसला करता है।
(IV)वर्तमान में, पूर्व न्यायमूर्ति पी चंद्रशेखर राव, भारत सरकार का प्रतिनिधित्व कर रहे हैं, जिनका कार्यकाल सितंबर 2017 में समाप्त होगा। 1996 में वह ट्रिब्यूनल के सदस्य चुने गए थे।
Neeru Chadha is first Indian woman to be judge at ITLOS :-
(I)Indian lawyer Dr Neeru Chadha will be the first Indian woman to be a judge at the International Tribunal Law of the Sea (ITLOS) following her election to the international body.
(II)She will have a nine-year term at ITLOS from 2017 to 2026.
(III)ITLOS is the top UN body which adjudicates international cases related to the law of the seas.
(IV)Currently, former judge P Chandrasekhara Rao is representing India at the tribunal whose term expires in September 2017. He was elected member of the tribunal in 1996.

(I)दुनिया भर में काम कर रहे भारतीयों ने पिछले वर्ष 62.7 बिलियन डॉलर धनघर भेजा था, जिससे भारत चीन से आगे निकलकर सबसे अधिक प्रेषण प्राप्त करने वाला देश बन गया है।
(II)यूएन इंटरनेशनल फंड फॉर एग्रीकल्चर डेवलपमेंट (आईएफ़एडी) द्वारा ‘वन फैमिली एट अ टाइम’ अध्ययन ने कहा है कि 200 मिलियन प्रवासियों ने विश्व स्तर पर 2016 में 445 मिलियन डालर से अधिक के रूप में अपने परिवार को प्रेषण के रूप में भेजा, जिससे लाखों लोगों को गरीबी से बाहर निकालने में मदद मिली।
(III)अध्ययन में कहा गया है कि भारत 2016 में 62.7 बिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर के साथ शीर्ष प्रेषण प्राप्तकर्ता रहा जिसके बाद चीन (61 बिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर), फिलीपींस (30 बिलियन डॉलर) और पाकिस्तान (20 बिलियन डॉलर) का स्थान है।
India Top Remittance-Receiving Country In 2016: UN Report :-
(I)Indians working across the globe sent home USD 62.7 billion last year, making India the top remittance-receiving country surpassing China, says a UN report.
(II)The ‘One Family at a Time’ study by the UN International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) said about 200 million migrants globally sent more than USD 445 million in 2016 as remittances to their families, helping to lift millions out of poverty.
(III)The study said India was the top receiving country for remittances in 2016 at USD 62.7 billion, followed by China (USD 61 billion), the Philippines (USD 30 billion) and Pakistan (USD 20 billion).
6.आईओसी, बीपीसीएल, एचपीसीएल में 40 बिलियन डॉलर की रिफाइनरी के लिए समझौता :-
(I)राज्य स्वामित्व वाली तेल कंपनियों आईओसी, बीपीसीएल और एचपीसीएल ने 40 अरब डॉलर की लागत से महाराष्ट्र के रत्नागिरि जिले में दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी रिफाइनरी और पेट्रोकेमिकल कॉम्प्लेक्स स्थापित करने के लिए एक समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।
(II)इंडियन ऑयल कॉरपोरेशन (आईओसी) 50 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी के साथ प्रमुख भागीदार होगा, जबकि हिंदुस्तान पेट्रोलियम कार्पोरेशन लिमिटेड (एचपीसीएल) और भारत पेट्रोलियम कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेड (बीपीसीएल) 25 फीसदी के हिस्सेदार होंगे।
IOC, BPCL, HPCL sign agreement to set up $40 billion refinery :-
(I)State-owned oil firms IOC, BPCL and HPCL has signed an agreement to jointly set up the world’s largest refinery and petrochemical complex at Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra at a cost of USD 40 billion.
(II)Indian Oil Corp (IOC) will be the lead partner with 50 per cent stake while Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL) will take 25 per cent stake each.
