1.First phase of “Varun-18” joint naval exercise of India and France begins in Goa :-
India and France joint naval exercise “Varun-18” started on the Arabian Sea coast in Goa on Monday.
In this naval exercise, the French Navy’s anti-submarine vessel Jinn De Vyne and Indian Navy’s INS Mumbai and INS Trikhind are participating in the warship. In addition to this, Indian submarine Calvary, P8-1, Aircraft Dornier, which patrols the maritime borders and MIG 29-Fighter aircraft has also been included.
The next two phase phase will be held in Chennai on May 4 in Chennai and the French island La Réunion in the Indian Ocean. Indian and French Navy are organizing bilateral marine exercises since May 1993.

3.NASA’s mission to discover new planets will be launched on April 16 :-
The American Space Agency NASA is preparing to launch the ‘Transit Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TES)’ mission next phase on April 16. Under this mission, the outer planets of the solar system have to be discovered. Astronomical spacecraft will be launched from the Air Force Station, Florida with the Falcon 9 Rocket of Space X. NASA will give detailed information on this mission on March 28.
The TES mission will survey nearly two lakh stars located near the Solar System. After this the planets going round about these stars will be discovered. Researchers are hoping to explore about 2,000 planets and potential planets through this mission. He believes that at least 300 of these planets would be equivalent to Earth or larger than Earth, that is, Super Earth. By studying these planets with a telescope, other features will be explored with the possibility of life on them.
4.Under the JNU of Delhi and the BHU of UP, the UGC has given the complete ‘freedom’ to 62 prestigious institutions of the country :-

5.There is no complete ban on giving advance bail in cases against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Prevention of Atrocities Act – Supreme Court :-
The Supreme Court has said in an important decision that there is no complete ban on giving advance bail in cases against the public servants under Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. The court said that protective measures have been included to prevent misuse of the law. The Supreme Court said that it is necessary to obtain prior approval of the employer before executing the case against the officials.
6.Ayush will organize International Yoga Festival from Wednesday :-

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh will inaugurate the three-day International Yoga Festival and the Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Mr. Shripad Yaso Naik will preside over this function.
During the festival, parallel yoga workshops, quiz and lecture competitions and poster presentation competitions will be organized by eminent major yoga instructors and yoga gurus.
The objective of Yoga Festival is to promote classical yoga on the basis of scientific studies.
7.Rupee weakens against dollar, open at 65.23 :-
In Wednesday’s trading session, 4 paise was reduced to 65.23 rupees against the dollar. On Tuesday, the closed level of rupee was 65.19. Experts believe that the reason for this weakness in rupees is to strengthen the dollar in front of currencies worldwide. At the same time this decline of rupee may continue even further, where rupee can touch the lower level of 65.70.
