1.The Cabinet approved the Bhopal Metro Rail Project in:- 

this project, two rail corridors will be constructed from Karonad circle to AIIMS and Bhadbhada intersection to Ratnagiri Tiraha.

The Union Cabinet has approved the Bhopal Metro Rail Project under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under this project, two rail corridors will be made from Karond Circle to AIIMS and from Bhadbhada intersection to Ratnagiri Thirahah, whose total length is 27.87 km. Out of these, the AIIMS corridor from Karond Circle will be 14.99 km and Ratnagiri Tiraha Galiara with 12.88 km from Bhadbhada intersection. These corridors will connect the major areas of Bhopal.

Details  :

The Metro Rail line between the AIIMS through Karonad circle will be elevated above the ground in most parts.

Only part of Bhopal railway station and bus station will remain underground. There will be 16 stations on this railway route. Of which 14 are above ground and 2 are underground.

There will be 14 stations on the metro line between Ratnagiri Thirah from Bhadbhada intersection, which will be all over the land.

This railway project will provide affordable, dependable, safe and uninterrupted transportation services in the city’s populated areas. By which the accidents will decrease, travel time will be saved, energy consumption and pollution will be reduced and urban expansion and use of land will be better controlled for sustainable development.

An estimated cost of Rs. 6941.40 crores will be spent on this project. This project will be completed in 4 years.

Benefits  :

Bhopal’s metro rail project will benefit from the densely populated area of ​​23 lakhs Bhopal, directly or indirectly. The two rail corridors, which are to be built under the project, will be multi-models, which will be connected to the railway stations. Feeder bus service network will be available for these Metro Rail Stations. This metro rail project will also generate revenue through passenger hire and through rentals and advertisements and VCF.

The surrounding areas of the metro rail corridor will benefit greatly from this project. People from these areas will be able to take advantage of the metro rail service for various parts of the city.

The Metro Rail line between Karams from AIIMS, connecting the densely populated areas with bus stations, railway stations and AIIMS, passing through the central part of the city. Rail line between Bhadbhad and Ratnagiri connects the areas of smart city under Bhopal to industrial areas of BFEL and its adjoining areas. This Metro Rail project will provide an environmentally friendly and sustainable public transport service.

 

Project Progress  :

To implement the project, a separate company has been formed in the name of Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Company Limited.

Will be done on the same basis from the funding center and the state government of Madhya Pradesh for the project. Some parts will also be offered by the European Investment Bank.

For the project, M / s DB Engineering and Consulting GNBH and M / s Luis Barzer SAS M / s have been formed as consultancy companies for Geo Data Engineering Companies. Tenders have been invited for the first civil works of the project. Work will start soon.
