माइकल वीनस 1974 के बाद न्यूजीलैंड के पहले ग्रैंड स्लैम चैंपियन बने, जब उन्होंने अमेरिकी रयान हैरिसन के साथ फ्रेंच ओपन पुरुष युगल खिताब जीत।
महिला युगल में, अमेरिकन बेथानी मैटेक-सैंड्स और चेक गणराज्य की लूसी सफ़ारोवा ने ऑस्ट्रेलियाई जोड़ी एशले बार्टी और केसी डेलाक्वा को 6-2, 6-1 से हराकर लगातार तीसरा ग्रैंड स्लैम युगल खिताब खिताब जीत लिया।
Michael Venus-Ryan Harrison clinches French Open men’s doubles title :-
Michael Venus became New Zealand’s first Grand Slam champion since 1974 when he partnered American Ryan Harrison to the French Open men’s doubles title.
Venus and Harrison defeated Santiago Gonzalez of Mexico and American Donald Young 7-6 (7/5), 6-7 (4/7), 6-3 in the final at Roland Garros.
In women’s doubles, American Bethanie Mattek-Sands and the Czech Republic’s Lucie Safarova claimed their third consecutive grand slam doubles title with a convincing 6-2 6-1 victory over Australian duo Ashleigh Barty and Casey Dellacqua.
2.विश्व बाल श्रम निषेध दिवस: 12 जून :-
बाल मजदूरी के खिलाफ जागरूकता लाने के लिए 12 जून को विश्वभर में विश्व बाल श्रम निषेध दिवस मनाया जाता है।
वर्ष 2017 के लिए इसका विषय “संघर्ष और आपदाओं में बाल श्रम से बच्चों की रक्षा” है।
World Day against Child Labour: 12 June :-
The World Day against Child Labour is being observed annually across world on 12 June to bring awareness against child labour.
The International Labour Organization (ILO) launched the World Day Against Child Labour in 2002 to focus attention on the global extent of child labour and the action and efforts needed to eliminate it.
Its theme for the year 2017 is “In conflicts and disasters, protect children from child labour”.
3.लुईस हैमिल्टन ने कनाडा ग्रांप्री जीती :-
लेविस हैमिल्टन ने कनाडाई ग्रांड प्रिक्स जीतते हुए सेबैस्टियन वेट्टेल की खिताबी बढत 12 अंक तक कम कर दी है।
फेरारी के सेबेस्टियन वेटल चौथे स्थान पर रहे।
यह कनाडा में हैमिल्टन के लिए 10 रेस में छठी जीत थी, जिसके चलते उन्होनें 65 पोल पॉजिशन के एयर्टन सिना के रिकॉर्ड की बराबरी की।
Lewis Hamilton wins in Canadian GP :-
Lewis Hamilton dominated the Canadian Grand Prix as dramatic action behind allowed him to cut Sebastian Vettel’s title lead to 12 points.
Vettel, meanwhile, could finish only fourth in the Ferrari.
It was a sixth win in 10 races in Canada for Hamilton, who equaled Ayrton Senna’s mark of 65 pole positions.

भारत के स्मार्ट सिटी कार्यक्रम में मदद करने व उत्सर्जन को कम करने और स्थिरता को बढ़ावा देने के उद्देश्य से फ्रांस और यूरोपीय संघ ने ‘मोबिलाईज योअर सिटी’ (एमवाईसी) की पहल के तहत 3.5 मिलियन यूरो का अनुदान दिया है।
पेरिस जलवायु समझौते, फ्रांसीसी विकास एजेंसी (एएफडी) के तहत यूरोपीय संघ की प्रतिबद्धता के तहत तीन भारतीय शहरों, नागपुर, कोच्चि और अहमदाबाद को अनुदान मिलेगा।
फ्रेंच और जर्मन सरकार द्वारा समर्थित एमवाईसी, को यूरोपीय संघ (ईयू) से भी वित्तीय सहायता मिलती है।
एमवाईसी का लक्ष्य स्थायी शहरी परिवहन को बढ़ावा देने और शहरी क्षेत्रों में स्थिरता को बढ़ावा देते हुए ग्रीन हाउस गैस (जीएचजी) के उत्सर्जन को कम करने के लिए वैश्विक स्तर पर 100 शहरों की मदद करना है।
EU, France grant 3.5m euros to curb emissions in India :-
Aiming to reduce emissions and promote sustainability to help India’s smart city programme, France and the European Union has extended a grant of 3.5 million Euros under the ‘Moblise Your City’ (MYC) initiative.
Three Indian cities, Nagpur, Kochi and Ahmedabad will get the grant as part of the EU’s commitment under the Paris Climate agreement, French Development Agency (AFD).
The MYC, supported by the French and German government, also has financial support from the European Union (EU).
MYC aims to extend help to 100 cities globally to reduce Green House Gas (GHG) emissions by promoting sustainable urban transport and to promote sustainability in urban spaces.

स्पेन के राफेल नडाल ने पेरिस में फाइनल में स्टेन वावरिंका पर जीत के साथ 10 वीं बार फ्रेंच ओपन खिताब जीता।
31 वर्षीय नडाल तीसरी वरीयता प्राप्त स्विस के खिलाफ 6-2, 6-3, 6-1 से जीत के साथ अपना 15 वें ग्रैंड स्लेम खिताब जीता।
वह कोई एक ग्रैंड स्लैम टूर्नामेंट 10 बार जीतने वाले ओपन युग में पहले खिलाडी बने।
Rafael Nadal Wins His 10th French Open Title :-
Spain’s Rafael Nadal made history by winning a record 10th French Open title with victory over Stan Wawrinka in the Paris final.
Nadal, 31, came through 6-2 6-3 6-1 against the Swiss third seed to claim his 15th major title.
He becomes the first man or woman in the Open era to have won a Grand Slam tournament 10 times.

Kolkata will soon have an underwater Metro which will pass through tunnels several feet under the Hooghly.
The first underwater transportation tunnel of India is ready with the second one nearing completion.
The Kolkata Metro transportation tunnel is unique to India because never before in the history of the country has a tunnel been made under a flowing river.

1960 के दशक के टीवी श्रृंखला बैटमैन में काम करने वाले अमेरिकी अभिनेता एडम वेस्ट का 88 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया।
पांच साल पहले, 2012 में वेस्ट को हॉलीवुड वॉक ऑफ फेम स्टार घोषित किया गया था।

Adam West, the US actor best known as the star of the 1960s hit TV series Batman, has died aged 88.
