1.Nitin Gadkari will start nationwide free eye test campaign :-

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari will launch nation-wide free eye test campaign for truck drivers, cleaners and helpers at Panjari Toll Plaza on Nagpur bypass in Maharashtra today. Eye glasses will also be distributed on this occasion. The objective of this initiative is to ensure clean and safe travel for truck drivers of the national highways. According to a government release issued in New Delhi, this campaign will last for five days. It includes government organizations as well as non-governmental organizations, Enterprises and private businesses are being included. Shri Gadkari will also attend the Land Poojan Festival of Wardha Dry Port in Sindhi, Maharashtra today. The port of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust is developing this port worth Rs. 500 crore.

 

2.Kaziranga National Park is open for tourists :-

After being closed during the Kaziranga National Park rain in the World Heritage, tourists are being reopened. A festival will also be organized on this occasion. The inauguration ceremony will include Assam Minister for Women Pramila Rani Brahma and Water Resources Minister Keshav Mahanta.

The Forest Minister said that gradually elephants and jeep safaris will also start in National Park. Kaziranga National Park was badly damaged due to the flood this year. In addition to Kaziranga, Pobitora reservoir of Morigaon district will also be reopened for tourists.

 

3.India has opened two checkposts for migrants on the border between Bangladesh and Myanmar :-

India opened two checkposts for migrants on Moinema and Bangladesh border in Mizoram. The Home Ministry has said in a notification that the Central Government has authorized Zorinpui Chowki in the Longtali district of Mizoram to investigate those who visited India and Myanma.

The center has authorized Corpuchua check post in Lunglei district of Mizoram for movement between India and Bangladesh . Both of these posts will be utilized for each category of travelers with valid travel documents.

 

4.Thousands of democracy supporters performed in Hong Kong :-

Thousands of Democracy Supporters have protested against the streets of Hong Kong, under the control of China. Protesters have alleged that the Chinese government is using courts to control its opponents.

In connection with the establishment day of the Republic of China on the national holiday, protesters marched on the streets of semi-autonomous Chinese territory.

The demonstrators were in the hands of the banner which was opposed to the dictatorship full governance and demanded the resignation of the city’s secretary secretariat Rimsky UN.

 

5.New Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Assam and Meghalaya and appointed new Deputy Governor of Andaman Nicobar :-

The government has appointed new states and union territories of the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. According to a press release issued from Rashtrapati Bhavan, Shri Satyapal Malik Bihar , Shri Banwar Lal Purohit, Tamil Nadu and Shri Ganga Prasad have been made the Governor of Meghalaya.

While Brig BD Mishra has been appointed as Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Retired Admiral Devendra Kumar Joshi will be the Deputy Governor of Andaman Nicobar. They will replace Professor Jagdish Mukhi , who has been made the Governor of Assam.

 

6.Haryana Government finances for widows and dependents of doubling workers :-

Haryana Government has increased the amount of financial assistance for widows and dependents of industrial and commercial workers from Rs. 1 lakh to two lakh rupees. This support is for the dependents of those workers who die outside the workplace premises.

Apart from this, the minimum wages given to the workers under the Haryana Labor Welfare Board’s Cycle Plan, LTC Scheme and Sew Machine Scheme have also been increased from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 18 thousand per month.

 

7.Center is working on plans to accelerate economic activities in rural areas :-

The Center is working on a scheme of partnership between Gram Panchayats and private companies to accelerate economic activities in rural areas. Ministry of Rural Development has selected 50 thousand village panchayats of the country, where women self-help groups are active and basic banking structure and savings account holder family are

present. Rural Development Secretary Amarjeet Sinha said that the Gram Panchayats can play an important role in the development of business from startup under Mission Atyodaya.

 

8.National hardcourt tennis championship starts in Delhi :-

National Hardcourt Tennis Championship starting in Delhi In the absence of top players in men’s singles, Southern Suresh Raina, Aryan Gove and Paramveer Singh Bajwa of Tamilnadu are considered to be the strong contenders of the title. Last year’s champion Vishnu Vardhan has withdrawn his name from the tournament. Last year’s winner Riya

Bhatia in the women’s section has also withdrawn from the tournament. Women singles will be a strong challenge for Mahika Yadav, Sai Samhita, Snehadevi S. Reddy and Mehk Jain.

 

9.OBC classification commission constituted, Justice becomes Rohini :-

President Ramnath Kovind formed a commission on Monday to investigate the feasibility of sub-classification of OBCs. Former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Justice G Rohini has been appointed as the Chairman of the five-member OBC Sub-Categorization Commission. The Backward Classes Commission has long been recommending distribution of backward castes in sub-classes for the benefit of reservations to all castes. Keeping this

in mind, the central cabinet had approved the decision to form a commission for classification of OBC’s central list on August 23.

 

10.16 lakh barrels crude oil arrived in India from the US, delivery in Paradip port :-

India has received the first consignment of US crude oil. The government-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has received delivery of 1.6 million barrels (16 lakh barrels) of crude oil on the Paradip port of Odisha. “IOC will process (crude) crude oil in the refinery of Paradip, Haldia (in West Bengal), Barauni (in Bihar) and Bongaigaon (located in Assam),” said in a statement released from the company.
