Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has arrived in New Delhi on a three-day visit to India . Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal welcomed him at the airport. This is the first visit of the Crown Prince to India. He is accompanied by several ministers and business delegations from the United Arab Emirates. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will visit Mumbai on Tuesday and attend a business forum meeting. Industrialists from both countries will also participate in this meeting. Recently, the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and the United Arab Emirates has strengthened in various fields including politics, trade, investment, connectivity, energy, technology and culture. This visit of the Crown Prince will further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and open new avenues of partnership in new and emerging areas.

3 33% reservation for women in Rajasthan Police
The Rajasthan State Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, has approved a significant policy change by mandating 33% reservation for women in the police force . The decision, taken on September 4, 2024, is in line with the BJP’s promise in its 2023 assembly election manifesto to increase female representation within law enforcement. The amendment to the Rajasthan Police Subordinate Services Rules, 1989, will soon be formalised through a notification by the Department of Personnel.
4 FSIB recommends the name of Ram Mohan Rao Amara for the post of MD of SBI
The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has recommended the name of Rama Mohan Rao Amara for the post of Managing Director (MD) of State Bank of India (SBI) to fill the vacancy caused by the promotion of Challa Srinivasulu (CS) Shetty as Chairman of SBI. He is currently serving as Deputy MD of SBI (from July 2023).

6 Assam: Kaziranga National Park will reopen for tourists on October 1
Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve will reopen for tourists on October 1, 2024. The park is closed from May to October every year due to the threat of floods from the Brahmaputra river, officials said on Sunday . In a letter dated September 7, the Eastern Assam Wildlife Office said that Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve Kol under the jurisdiction of Eastern Assam Wildlife Division will be opened for tourists from October 1, 2024 for the 2024-25 season.

Europe ‘s last Vega rocket launches Sentinel -2C satellite for environmental monitoring . France -based space transportation company Arianespace has successfully launched the last Vega launcher (VV24 mission) carrying the third Copernicus Sentinel-2 (Sentinel-2C) satellite into a sun-synchronous orbit (SSO) at an altitude of 775 kilometers (km) . The mission was launched on 4 September 2024 from the Guiana Space Centre in French Guiana. It will serve as the Earth observation component of the European Union (EU) space programme, providing crucial environmental data for the planet.
8 New spider species discovered in Tamil Nadu
A new species of jumping spider named ‘ Carrhotus piperus ‘ has been discovered in the lower Palani Hills in Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu (TN) . With this discovery, the total number of Carrhotus species known in India has gone up to 10, while globally, the number is 37. The detailed research findings have been published in the Journal of Insect Biodiversity and Systematics (JIBS), an international peer-reviewed journal of Tarbiat Modares University (TMU) Press (Tehran, Iran).

The NFO launched on September 2, 2024 and will end on September 16, 2024. This open-ended index fund aims to capture the performance of high-momentum stocks within the Nifty 500 Index. This will be India’s first 500 Momentum 50 Index Fund, the company said in a release. This new fund of MOAMC will track the Nifty 500 Momentum 50 Total Return Index. Mumbai (Maharashtra) -based Hitachi Payment Services Private Limited has introduced India’s first Android-based Cash Recycling Machine (CRM) Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in collaboration with Mumbai – based National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) at the Global Fintech Fest ( GFF) 2024 in Mumbai. This CRM is named as HPDX-BU01 and acts as a Digital Banking Unit (DBU), providing one-stop services in the modern digital banking environment. It offers facilities like home loan application, credit card application and investment in fixed deposits (FD). It provides customers with the facility of 24 x 7 card-less cash deposit in their and other people’s bank accounts.
11 BharatPe partners with Unity Bank to launch third-party applications for easy digital payments
BharatPe, India’s leading fintech company has announced its partnership with Mumbai (Maharashtra) based Unity Small Finance Bank Ltd (Unity Bank) to launch its Unified Payments Interface (UPI) TPAP (Third Party Application Provider) service for easy digital payments . It has also rebranded its now-pay-later application (app) PostPe (app) to BharatPe platform.
12 Khel Utsav 2024 organized by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting
To commemorate the birth anniversary of Hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand and to commemorate National Sports Day 2024 of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports , Ministry of Information and Broadcasting organized “ Khel Utsav 2024 ” from 27th August to 30th August, 2024. The event took place at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium and Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi . In its first edition, the Ministry organized tournaments in four sports viz. Cricket, Hockey, Badminton and Table Tennis. More than 200 officers and staff of the Ministry participated with full zeal and enthusiasm to make the event a success. The Ministry aims to include more sports in the upcoming editions of Khel Utsav.
