ias-web-666x290New Delhi: He was 20 years old when he earned his medical degree. At the age of 22, he cracked the UPSC exam and become an assistant district collector when he was 24. What do you expect such a talent to do after that? Instead of pursuing a bright career in administration, Roman Saini chose to do something else. He left his high-paying job in 2016 for teaching poor and underprivileged people.

The former IAS officer offered to provide free online education to the aspirants of civil services and other competitive examinations as well through his online coaching platform called Unacademy.

At the age of 16, Saini passed the pre-medical examination and became the youngest doctor of highly reputed AIIMS. At the age of 22, he passed the civil services examination and became the youngest IAS Officer.

He resigned after two years as assistant collector of Jabalpur and ventured into an area where he may neither earn like a doctor nor enjoy influence like a bureaucrat. All he could do was to see students get past the various achieve ambitions.

He gives lectures on his platform on YouTube for those aspiring to become doctors, civil servants, computer programmers. Ten followers have cleared the civil services exams and his videos have been watched millions of time. Saini believes that his focus was on making quality education accessible. He believed that internet was the way to achieve it. He believes that there is a massive need for extensive use of technology in education. And his online platform does that effectively.
