In 2024, Amelia led the White Ferns to their first ICC Women’s T20 World Cup title. The ICC Awards 2024 will conclude with the announcement of the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year.

4 Bihar became the first state to start a rural cricket league
Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) is going to organize Bihar Rural League (BRL) for talented players from all districts of Bihar under the leadership of its President Rakesh Tiwari . The special thing about this league is that it is for those players who have not yet got a chance to play in district or state level tournaments. With this step, Bihar state will become the first state in the country to organize a rural cricket league . Players between the ages of 13 and 23 will be able to participate in this league. Selected players will be provided big platforms to represent Bihar.

6 International Saraswati Festival will be organized at Pehowa Saraswati Tirtha in Haryana from Wednesday
International Saraswati Mahotsav will be organized at Pehowa Saraswati Tirth in Haryana . Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will inaugurate the festival. During the 7-day festival, main cultural programs will be organized till February 2 and Saras Mela will also be organized at the pilgrimage site till February 4. Vice President of Haryana Saraswati Heritage Development Board, Mr. Dhuman Singh said that this year the board will organize programs at all the historical pilgrimages located on the route of Saraswati river from Adi Badri to Rann of Kutch.

9 Search Committee was constituted for the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner
On January 27, the central government has constituted a search committee to shortlist names for the appointment of the next Chief Election Commissioner . The secretaries of the Department of Finance and Department of Personnel and Training have been included as two other members in the committee. The term of the current Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar is ending on February 18. After Rajiv, Gyanesh Kumar is the most senior Election Commissioner. After the names are shortlisted, the selection committee headed by the Prime Minister will decide the names of the Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners from it. Apart from the PM, the selection committee includes the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and a Union Cabinet Minister nominated by the Prime Minister. This will be the first time after the implementation of the new law that a Chief Election Commissioner will be selected under it.

5-year-old Saksham Thakur of Himachal Pradesh has won the title of ‘ Youngest Map Genius of India ‘ by showing extraordinary talent on Google Map . OMG announced Saksham’s name on the evening of 27 January and informed Kullu DC Torul S Ravish about it. Saksham can find any country in the world on the map in just 5-10 seconds.
