In case of loans where the security does not exist or cannot be registered, the MHP will be calculated from the date of first repayment of the loan.

Unlike other social reformers, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar tried to transform the society from within and this resulted in the introduction of widow remarriage in the orthodox Hindu Brahmin society of Bengal. He died in Calcutta on July 29, 1891, at the age of 70.
