1. Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2019 to noted film actor Rajinikanth

Renowned film actor Rajinikanth will be honored with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2019 . Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash JavadekarAnnounced this. It will be presented with the National Film Awards on 3 May. In a tweet, Mr. Javadekar described him as one of the greatest actors in the history of Indian cinema and said that Rajinikanth has a remarkable contribution as an artist, producer and screenwriter. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is the most prestigious award in Indian cinema. Rajinikanth was born on 12 December 1950 in Bangalore as Shivaji Rao Gaekwad. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan (2000) and the Padma Vibhushan (2016) by the Government of India. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is the country’s highest film honor. It was introduced by the government in 1969. The award was instituted in memory of ‘Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, the father of Indian cinema, Those are known as Dadasaheb Phalke. He directed India’s first feature film Raja Harishchandra (1913).
