1 BJP government in Delhi after 27 years
BJP is returning to power in Delhi after 27 years . Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also won 20 seats, is leading on 2 seats, i.e. total 22 seats. Congress has not got a single seat. AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal lost the election from New Delhi and Manish Sisodia from Jangpura. Chief Minister Atishi has won the election from Kalkaji seat. Satyendra Jain has also lost the election. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, BJP won only 8 seats.
2 BIMSTEC Youth Summit 2025 to be held from 7 to 11 February 2025 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat
The Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports , Government of India, is organizing the BIMSTEC Youth Summit in Gandhinagar, Gujarat from 7th to 11th February 2025. Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya will formally inaugurate the event on 8th February 2025, marking the commencement of the BIMSTEC Youth Summit. During the 4th BIMSTEC Summit in Kathmandu on 30-31 August 2018, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India had announced hosting of the three-day BIMSTEC Youth Summit, aimed at bringing together the youth of BIMSTEC countries on a unified platform to exchange experiences and insights on youth-led initiatives undertaken by member countries.
3 Theatre Level Operational Readiness Exercise (TROPEX-25)
The 2025 edition of the Indian Navy ‘s capstone Theatre Level Operational Exercise (TROPEX) is currently underway in the Indian Ocean Region . This operational level exercise is conducted biennially with the participation of all combat Indian Naval units along with substantial participation of Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Coast Guard warships . The aim of TROPEX 25 is to validate the core warfare skills of the Indian Navy and to ensure a coordinated and integrated response to protect and safeguard national maritime security interests in a contested maritime environment against conventional, asymmetric as well as hybrid threats. TROPEX is being conducted over a period of three months from 25 January – 25 March. The exercise is conducted in various phases both in port and at sea integrating various aspects of combat operations, cyber and electronic warfare operations, joint working phase and live weapon firing during combined exercises (AMPHEX).
4 Tripura government signed agreements worth more than Rs 3700 crore
The Tripura government signed agreements worth over Rs 3,700 crore with 87 private investors for education, health, agriculture and information technology at the Destination Tripura Business Conclave in Agartala . Chief Minister Manik Saha and state Industry Minister Santan Chakma were also present on the occasion. Chief Minister Saha said that the state government is making efforts to attract investments from within the country and abroad. He said that investors want a peaceful environment and the Tripura government is making every effort to provide a favorable environment to the companies.
5 Government formed in Lebanon under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam
A government led by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has been formed in Lebanon . With this, the deadlock that had been going on since 2022 also ended . President Joseph Aoun accepted the resignation of the previous caretaker government and signed the order to form a government under the leadership of Prime Minister Salam. Mr. Nawaf Salam is an experienced diplomat and has been the President of the International Court of Justice. He has promised to implement the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.
6 Central Government will combine 3 skill development schemes to form a Central Sector Scheme
The central government has decided to merge its 3 skill development schemes to form a Skill India program , which will be a central scheme. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 (PMKVVY 4.0) Pradhan Mantri National Apprentice Promotion Scheme (PM-NAPS) and Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) Yojana have now been included in the Central Sector Scheme of Skill India Program. The Central Sector Scheme of Skill India Program will be in force for 3 years.
7 Fortune Barishal won Bangladesh Premier League 2025
Fortune Barishal, captained by Tamim Iqbal, won the final match of Bangladesh Premier League 2025 by three wickets. Barishal defeated Chittagong Kings in the final . In the match, Barishal captain Tamim Iqbal won the toss and decided to bowl first. After this, Chittagong scored 194 runs in 20 overs. Then Tamim’s team chased this target in the last over. Fortune Barishal has won its second consecutive title. Earlier, the team won the title of the year 2024 by defeating Comilla Victorians.
8 ICC releases official song of Champions Trophy 2025
The International Cricket Council i.e. ICC released the official song of Champions Trophy 2025 ‘ Jeeto Baazi Khel Ke ‘ on 7 February . The song ‘Jeeto Baazi Khel Ke’ has been sung by famous singer Atif Aslam . Abdullah Siddiqui has produced the song, while Adnan Dhull and Asfandyar Asad have written the lyrics. This tournament will be played in Pakistan and UAE from 19 February to 9 March. A total of 15 matches will be played in the Champions Trophy. The match between India and Pakistan will be played on 23 February.
9 FIFA suspends Pakistan Football Federation
FIFA, the world governing body of football , has suspended the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) after it failed to amend its constitution . This is the third time since 2017 that the Pakistan Football Federation has been suspended. The newly elected PFF Congress had refused to make changes to FIFA. A committee appointed by FIFA was governing football in Pakistan since June 2019. This committee was tasked with conducting elections and making changes to the country’s football structure but it failed in doing so.
