1. Leading Cooperative IFFCO Launches World’s First ‘Nano Urea’
Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited – IFFCO introduced the world’s first Nano Urea for farmers . A 500 ml bottle of nano liquid urea will replace at least one bag (45 kg) of conventional urea . IFFCO has priced Nano Urea at Rs 240 per 500 ml bottle for farmers, which is 10% cheaper than the price of a bag of traditional urea. Nano liquid urea increases production along with improved nutritional quality and has a major positive impact on ground water quality. Its use will significantly reduce global warming with effects on climate change and sustainable development.
2. Government announces pension scheme for dependents of those who lost their lives from Kovid-19
The Central Government announced to provide various other facilities including pension to the dependents of those who lost their lives due to Kovid-19 . A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that in addition to the pension for dependents, the government will ensure increased, liberalized insurance compensation for families affected by Kovid-19. The dependent members of the family of such victims will get a pension equal to 90 percent of the average daily salary . This benefit will be effective from March 24 last year and will be applicable for cases up to March 24, 2022, the statement said. The maximum amount received under the benefit of insurance has been increased from six lakh rupees to seven lakhs while the minimum amount will be 2.5 lakh rupees. This scheme will be applicable for the next three years from 15 February 2020.

12. Rs 3,411 crore grant to Gujarat for providing water supply through tap to rural families

15. RBI slaps Rs 10 crore fine on HDFC Bank
The Reserve Bank of India has imposed a penalty of Rs 10 crore on HDFC Bank for deficiencies in regulatory compliance found in the bank’s auto loan portfolio . According to RBI, HDFC Bank has violated the provisions of Section 6 (2) and Section 8 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949. After receiving a complaint from an informant, RBI conducted an examination in marketing and selling third-party non-financial products to the bank’s auto loan customers and found that the bank was in violation of regulatory directives. RBI has imposed monetary penalty in exercise of powers vested by the central bank under the provisions of section 47A(1)(c) read with section 46(4)(i) of the Banking Regulation Act.
