1.Center for the preparation of the names of these three island groups of Andaman and Nicobar Islands:-

The central government is preparing to change the name of three islands of Andaman and Nicobar islands. The government has made preparations to change the names of three islands.

These three islands include Ros, Neil and Havelock. The government is preparing to change the name of Ross to Subhash Chandra Bose Island, the name of the name of the Nile Shahid Island and Havelock as Swaraj Islands.

2.No plan to reduce maximum age limit in Civil Services Examination: Jitendra Singh:-

The Central Government has denied the news of reducing the maximum age limit for the Civil Services (UPSC) exam. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has said that the government does not have any such plans at this time. He said such reports and speculation should be stopped. For the past some time there was speculation that the government is contemplating reducing the maximum age limit for the Civil Services Examination. But after this statement, there is now a break on speculation.

Last year, the Commission had recommended lowering the maximum age limit for the candidates of Civil Services. Students who made preparations for the Civil Examination on the suggestion of the Policy Commission also protested in many places.Explain that the Policy Commission had suggested that the maximum age limit for general services for civil services should be reduced from 32 to 27 years. The Commission had asked it to be enforced from session 2022-23. The Commission has included these things in its report called ‘Strategy for New India @ 75’. It has also been said in this report that for all civil services a single examination will be conducted. In its report, the Policy Commission has said that all the recruitments are based on central talent.The policy commission also says that lateral entry of experts on higher levels of bureaucracy should be encouraged so that more and more experts can get services in every field.

On the charge of the opposition, the Ministry said that they do not regulate the content on the social media platform, but these companies will have to ensure that their platform is not used to promote or promote terrorism, extremism, violence and crime.

Suggestions and feedback have been sought from people on this issue till January 15.

5.Policy Commission focuses on enhancing digital literacy, ‘Dell start’ campaign started in small towns:-

The policy commission has set a target of 100 percent basic digital literacy in the country by 2022-23. The Commission says that it has suggested to make special focus on schools and colleges to promote digital literacy.The policy commission has given this suggestion in ‘Strategy for New India at 75’. This recommendation of the commission is important because the level of digital literacy in India is very low. Large sections of the population do not even have computers, laptops or smart phones. According to this document of the commission, India is estimated to be around 10 percent of digital literacy. In such a situation, the government needs special attention to increase the level of digital literacy.

Targeting the level of digital literacy in the country by the year 2022-23, the Commission said that it requires the focus of the level of school and college. The National Digital Literacy Mission should focus on the elementary level of digital literacy in all government schools. Apart from this, focus on digital literacy in higher classes and colleges for advance level. The commission says that the impact of this campaign will be at the time when these students will make digital members literate their families. Increasing digital literacy will also increase the use of computer hardware in the country.

Dell Launch’ presenting Digital Literacy

In the matter of promoting digital literacy, IT company Dell’s initiative is presenting a different look. Under this campaign called ‘Dell Early’, emphasis is on giving digital literacy to students, teachers and parents in schools. Under the Dell initiation, so far such campaigns have been started in 4500 schools in 75 cities and 10 lakh students have been linked to this campaign. Dell Senior Vice President Krishnakumar P said that new class jobs are emerging that old jobs are changing to a great extent. That’s why new and old professions will require new types of skills. Creativity is essential for future jobs. For this, it is important to increase digital literacy.

7.Smert prepaid all power meters in the country in three years:-

The Ministry of Power has decided to convert all meters in the smart prepaid meter from one April 2019 to the next three years in the country. The ministry said in a statement issued . “It will bring a revolution in the power sector with the reduction of transmission and distribution losses, better conditions of distribution companies, encouragement of energy conservation, ease of payment, and the ending of the issuance of paper bill,” it said. The statement said, “Smart Meter is in the interest of the poor as customers will not be required to pay the full month’s bill in one go. Instead, they can pay the bills according to their needs. “Not only this, manufacturing of smart prepaid meters at large scale will also create employment for the youth. It is worth noting that the state governments have signed the power document for all and agreed to give electricity to their customers 24 hours a day for seven days. Under this, there will be provision for 24 hours of electricity supply to the consumers in seven days from April 2019 or earlier in the distribution license. However, the appropriate authority can extend this time in writing on the basis of indispensable reasons.
