- Secretary of the Economic Affairs Shri Subhash Chandra Garg participated in the meetings of the Finance Ministers of the BRICS countries and governors of central banks in Washington :-
Washington DC. During the spring meetings of the IMF / World Bank on April 19, 2018, the first meeting of the Finance Ministers and Governors of BRICS countries was organized separately. In this meeting, the Ministry of Finance of the Government of India was represented by Shri Subhash Chandra Garg, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs (EA).
- Prime Minister will present awards for excellence in public administration and will address administrative officials :-
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will award prizes to the districts / implementation units and Central / State Organizations for excellence in public administration for effective implementation of innovative primary programs and innovation in science building on 21st April. On this occasion, he will also address administrative officials.
- Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority has fixed new NPS member registration form – additional mandatory requirements :-
The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has been set up by the Government of India for regulation and development of the pension sector, to ensure income security of the respective members. Various initiatives have been taken from time to time on behalf of PFRDA with the objective of simplifying operational issues and improving the related system in the National Pension System (NPS). The development of new functionality under NPS framework, account opening and ease in withdrawals, complaint management etc. are among these initiatives. In this regard, it has been decided by the Authority to make the bank account details and mobile number mandatory so as to simplify operations in the interest of its members and to make the process of exiting NPS hassle free.
- Elections will be held in Turkey on 24th June with presidential elections :-
Elections will also be held in Turkey on 24th June for presidential elections along with parliamentary elections. Majuda President Recep Tayyip Ardogan is in power since 2002 and he is contesting for another term of five years. They got more rights in the referendum held last year. Initially, his nationalist allies had offered to hold early elections. In his address on television, Mr. Ardogan said that there is a need to make new elections in order to get the country out of the old system. After the coup failed to overthrow President Ardogan in July, 2016, the emergency situation in Turkey is in force.
- Chairman of the Finance Commission, N.K. Singh said – the financial needs of each states will be assessed on the basis of their special status :-
Chairman of Fifth Finance Commission, N.K. Singh has said that keeping in mind the financial needs of each state, in keeping with their special status, will be assessed separately. Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu The delegation, led by Panneerselvam, met the Chairman of the Commission in New Delhi yesterday and handed them a memorandum with suggestions about the working area of the Commission. During the meeting Mr. N.K. Singh said that a state like Tamil Nadu who made significant contributions to the prosperity of India will be given attention.

JNN In Pune, the 17th match of the IPL 2018 was played between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals and in this match, Chennai won by 64 runs in Rajasthan. In this match, Rajasthan captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and decided to bowl first. Earlier, batting first, Chennai Super Kings made 204 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs, on Shane Watson’s century. Rajasthan had to score 205 runs to win, but the whole team was all out for 140 runs in 18.3 overs. Shane Watson was adjudged Man of the Match. After this victory, the Chennai team has now reached number one in the points table with 6 points. Rajasthan is at number five in the points table with 4 points.
- CCI imposed penalty on Eveready, company’s shares broken up to 11 percent :-
Everredi’s shares saw a decline of about 11 percent. This decline in shares has been seen after the Indian Competitive Commission (CCI) imposed a penalty of Rs 171.55 crore on the company. The company has been fined due to the cartilization of Zinc carbon dry cell battery prices. After the company’s stock declined 10.32 percent, the BSE closed at 328.35 at the level of 328.35. During the day’s business, it had dropped to 12.54 per cent up to 320.20 level. At the same time, its lowest level of 52 weeks is 270.
- Yes Bank’s customers will now be able to withdraw from seven branches across the bank branch :-
Private sector major Bank Yes Bank has informed today that it has got approval from the RBI to open its office in London and Singapore. After this clearance, the bank will now be able to get help in Diaspora and international trade at these places.
The approval given to Yes Bank at present is also important because most public sector banks are currently reviewing their foreign trade after a fraud of Rs 13,000 crore has been found in Punjab National Bank. - 1.5 lakh wellness centers across the country will be built: Chaube :-
Shri Ashwani Chaube, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare inaugurated the second National Quality Conference today, honoring the representatives of 91 Quality Units selected from different parts of the country for their outstanding quality. Hon’ble Minister said that “people of 18 states have come here and I hope that the next time the other states which have gone out, they will be able to achieve this respect by bringing the appropriate superiority in their quality.” He also said that the state which is yet to meet the standards needs special training. The Minister expressed happiness that the Ministry of Health has taken concrete steps towards making good and accessible health. Under the National Health Mission, all units of health facilities such as district hospitals, community health centers, Standards have been set for services provided by Primary Health and Urban Primary Health Centers. ‘Ayushman Bharat’ is a historic public welfare scheme, which is why 60 million people each year. Medical benefits up to Rs. 5 lakhs will be taken per year free of cost. A sum of Rs. 2000 crores has been allocated for Ayushman India in this year’s budget.
