2.Punishment may be on voluntary confession of court outside court:-

In one of its decisions, the Supreme Court has given an important arrangement regarding the confessional statement given out of the court. He says that the confessional statement given outside the court, though there is a weak evidence, but it can be used to punish any person, provided the court is satisfied that the said statement is voluntary. The bench of Justice R Bhanumati and Justice Indira Banerjee gave the above arrangement in a decision. According to the bench, in matters related to confession of outside the court, the court must ensure that the said statement is reliable and confirm other evidence of the prosecution. According to the Supreme Court, “If the court is satisfied that confessions given outside the court are voluntary, then the basis for the punishment can be made.” However, there is no need to confirm this kind of confession of the accused in all cases. According to the Supreme Court, it is an established belief that punishment should be based on voluntary confession, but it is necessary in law to make sure that as far as possible, it should be confirmed by other evidence. The top court has given the above remarks in his decision to uphold the punishment of a former banker convicted by lower courts in Himachal Pradesh.

Under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC) by the lower court and the Himachal Pradesh High Court, the convicted banker had approached the Supreme Court seeking relief. He had said in the petition filed in the apex court that he has been punished on the basis of his confessional statement given to two senior officials. His said statement can not be called voluntary. But the Supreme Court did not listen to his arguments and upheld the High Court order. However, the apex court reduced the sentence of former banker’s five-year prison sentence to three years.

5.What is Trade Deficit? Trade surplus with high levels, with China:-

Trade deficit of India (trade deficit) has reached the highest level of five years ($ 19 billion) in July this year. It is only a one-month figure and it is believed that it will be much more for the entire fiscal year than against the previous year. The direct impact of the trade deficit affects the country’s economic situation, especially on current account, employment generation, growth rate and currency. What is Trade Deficit? What measures have the government taken to reduce it? The difference between import and export is called trade balance. When a country imports more than exports, then it is called Trade Deficit. This means that the country is not able to produce enough goods and services to meet the needs of the customers here, so they have to import these from other countries. On the contrary, when a country makes exports more than imports, it is called trade surplus. In the financial year 2017-18, India accounted for a total trade of $ 769 billion ($ 303 billion in exports and $ 465 billion imports) with about 238 countries and governmental sectors and a trade deficit of $ 162 billion. India had trade surplus with 130 of these countries, with about 88 countries having trade deficits. India’s biggest trade deficit is $ 63 billion with neighboring China. This means that trade with China is less beneficial for India and more beneficial for this neighboring country’s economy.

India’s trade deficit is high even with countries like Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Indonesia, South Korea, Australia, Iran, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Japan and Germany. If we talk about trade surplus, India’s trade surplus with the US is the highest ($ 21 billion). This means that our country is less imported from the US and there is more to export. In this way, the bilateral trade balance with America is inclined towards India. Simply put, the trade from America is favorable to the Indian economy. India is also a trade surplus with countries like Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates, Nepal, Hong Kong, Netherlands, Pakistan, Vietnam and Sri Lanka.

Arun Jaitley said that the government has reduced the market borrowing target by 70 thousand crore rupees for the current financial year. Along with this, oil companies, who market petroleum products, have been allowed to raise foreign exchange $ 10 billion in a year. Apart from this, withholding tax on spice bonds has been withdrawn.

He said that maintaining fiscal position is one of the top priorities of the government. The Finance Minister said that maintaining fiscal discipline in my opinion is one of the most important priorities. You can only take some advantage when your fiscal position is strong.

10.RBI can stop falling rupee fall:-

The price of the rupee is constantly falling against the dollar over the past few days. Rupee is at the lowest level in history so far. The price of rupees is compared to the US dollar. Indeed, America is considered the world’s strongest economy. Therefore, there is acceptance of dollars worldwide. With the strengthening of the dollar the second currency becomes weaker. The loss of the dollar is rising rupee.

Due to the falling rupee, India has to pay more for import. Apart from this, the impact of inflation, interest rates, trade deficits, economic policies and the movement of the stock market are also on the health of the rupee.

What is the role of the Reserve Bank?

The Central Bank of India (RBI) does the work of strengthening the falling rupee. For this, the RBI has many ways. The first is direct purchasing or sale of dollars. If the RBI wants to raise the price of the rupee, then it can sell the dollar and make purchases to reduce the price. The second way is through their policies. If the RBI makes changes in the repo rate and the statutory liquidity ratio, then the price of the rupee can be controlled. It is also called an LLR.

Changes in interest rates affect th

RBI takes repo rates to keep inflation in control. The repo rate is the rate at which the RBI lends to other commercial banks. At the same time, the reverse repo rate is the rate at which RBI keeps the money of other banks.

The higher repo rate attracts foreign investors, the value of the domestic currency and the demand increase. Increase in repo rate increases the interest rates, bond yield and date papers. More attract investors than this. Apart from this, higher interest rates will have more money from RBI, which can be used for demand and supply of currency.

If the cost of the rupee decreases, it will increase inflation because the imported goods have to pay more. RBI tries to reduce demand and prices by increasing interest rates.
