1.RBI becomes world’s first central bank with a million Twitter followers:- Reserve Bank of India, in a first among Central Banks, has become the first monetary authority that has gained 1 million followers on its official Twitter Handle. Shaktikanda Das, RBI Governor congratulated his colleagues on this occasion. He also has a separate Twitter Handle with 1.37 lakh followers. He shared the news of achievement through Twitter and congratulated everyone for the new milestone. India’s monetary authority has beaten the European Central Bank and US Federal Reserve on Twitter by becoming the most popular central bank to be followed on the microblogging site. Currently, the Reserve Bank of India is followed by as many as 10,00,513 followers on Twitter.

2.Cricket returns to India after a long break, the first match of Bengal T20 Challenge will be held at Eden Gardens:- Cricket is going to happen in India after a long break due to Corona virus epidemic (COVID-19 Pandemic). The Bengal T20 Challenge tournament of six teams organized by the Bengal Cricket Association (CAB) will be played from today. In such a situation, cricket will take place on the grounds of Eden Gardens today after eight months. The first match will be between Mohun Bagan and Kolkata Customs Club. The entire tournament will be played in a bio bubble environment. During this, there will be 30 matches in 13 days. The last match at this ground was the semi-final of the Ranji Trophy. The match between Bengal and Karnataka was played from 29 February to 3 March. Subsequently, the lockdown was imposed due to Corona. Bengal won the match by 174 runs. However, the team lost to Saurashtra in the final.

3.Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi passes away:- Former Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi passed away on November 23, 2020. He was 86. The news of his passing was shared by Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The Former CM breathed his last at 5.34 pm at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Gogoi’s health had started deteriorating last Monday. He had tested positive for COVID-19 in August. The veteran Congress Party leader was on a ventilator since November 21 after suffering a multi-organ failure. He was also on dialysis.

4.India to host G20 Summit in 2023, to take forward G20 agenda after Italy and Indonesia:- he grouping leaders of G20 announced on November 22, 2020 that India will now host the Group of 20 Summit in 2023, a year later than what was decided earlier. India was set to host the summit in 2022 which was also coinciding with the 75th anniversary of Indian independence. The declaration of G20 Riyadh Summit Leaders which was issued at the conclusion of two-day’s conference of the top 20 economies of the world thanked Saudi Arabia for successfully hosting Riyadh Summit as well as for its contribution to G20 process. The declaration by the leaders added that we look forward for our next meetings in Italy in 2021, Indonesia in 2022, India in 2023 and Brazil in 2024. PM Modi among other two dozen leaders had participated in one of the most prominent summits. The focus of 2020s summit, which mostly took place virtually was the Coronavirus pandemic.

5.Prime Minister Modi inaugurates multi-storeyed flats for MPs in Delhi:- PM Modi on November 23, 2020 inaugurated multi-storeyed flats for the Member of Parliament at Dr B D Marg via video conferencing. The Lok Sabha speaker, Om Birla, was also present on the occasion. According to an official release, eight old bungalows which were more than 80 years old have been redeveloped by the authorities to construct 76 flats. These flats have been constructed with the savings of about 14 per cent from the sanctioned cost and without any time overrun despite of the effects of COVID-19. In his address, Prime Minister Modi highlighted that long-pending issues are resolved by looking for solutions. He noted that not only MPs residence but there have been some other projects also that were pending since years.

6.India likely to get Oxford COVID vaccine shots by January-February, Oxford Vaccine 70.4% effective:- India is likely to get the first lot of Oxford COVID-19 vaccine shots by late January or early February. This may happen as India plans to give Serum Institute of India emergency use authorisation approval for the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine candidate as soon as it gets similar approval in the United Kingdom. Serum Institute of India’s CEO Adar Poonawalla had stated recently that the first batch of Oxford-Astrazeneca vaccine will be made available by February 2021 for healthcare workers and vulnerable and elderly people.He had also confirmed that the Serum Institute will apply for an emergency use authorisation in India when the UK authorities and the European Medicines Evaluation Agency (EMEA) give a go-ahead. The emergency use will, however, be limited to the frontline workers, healthcare workers, doctors, nurses, municipal staff and elderly people aged above 65 years.

7.International Emmy Awards 2020: Delhi Crime gets Best Drama Series Award, these web shows also nominated:- The 48th International Emmy Awards have been announced and this time Indian cinema has also performed well. Netflix’s webseries Delhi Crime won its best in these awards and the series has won the Best Drama Series award. In the webseries directed by Richie Mehta, Shefali Shah plays the role of a police officer who investigates the 2012 Nirbhaya case. This web series based on the Nirbhaya case was well liked and it was said that the series has touched people. Delhi Crime is India’s first web-series to win the International Emmy Award. According to reports, taking the award, Director of Webseries, Richie said that she would like to pay tribute to Nirbhaya and her family through this award. Actor Arjun Mathur was nominated in the Best Actor category for the series Made in Heaven, if you talk about other Indian films or webseries.
