1. PM Modi to flag off MV Ganga Vilas, the world’s largest river cruise in Varanasi on January 13

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the world’s largest river cruise MV Ganga Vilas in Varanasi , Uttar Pradesh on January 13 Will show the flag to This cruise will cover a distance of more than three thousand two hundred kilometers in five states of India and 27 rivers of Bangladesh. The MV Ganga Vilas Cruise is designed to showcase the best of India to the world. The cruise will visit 50 tourist places during its 51 day journey. These include world heritage sites, national parks, river basins and major cities. These cities are Patna in Bihar, Sahibganj in Jharkhand, Kolkata in West Bengal, Dhaka in Bangladesh and Guwahati in Assam. MV Ganga Vilas Cruise is 62 meters long and 12 meters wide. It has three decks and 18 suites, In which 36 tourists can stay. All facilities have been mobilized to make the tourists’ journey on the Kuj luxurious and memorable. The cruise is fitted with pollution free machines and noise pollution control devices. The maiden voyage of MV Ganga Vilas carrying 32 tourists from Switzerland will travel from Varanasi to Dibrugarh. The cruise’s expected date of arrival at Dibrugarh is March 1, 2023.

3. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman handed over more than 33 thousand loan approval letters worth more than one thousand five hundred crore rupees in Kota, Rajasthan

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman handed over more than 33,000 loan approval letters worth over Rs 1,550 crore under various Central Government schemes during a credit outreach program in Kota , Rajasthan . These letters of credit were approved under MUDRA, KCC, PMEGP, KCC-Crops, KCC- Animal Husbandry & Fisheries, Standup India and PM SVANidhi . Smt. Sitharaman also flagged off five mobile ATM vehicles on the occasion. Of these, one ATM vehicle is for Koka District Central Cooperative Bank and four for Rajasthan Marudhara Gramin Bank.

4. Joshimath city of Uttarakhand declared disaster prone area

Joshimath has been declared a disaster prone area in Uttarakhand . Construction activities have been banned in this town and its surrounding areas. District Magistrate of Chamoli Himanshu Khurana gave this information. He informed that two central teams, including a team from the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti, would soon visit Joshimath. According to the Chamoli District Disaster Management Authority, cracks have appeared in 603 buildings in Joshimath town so far. Due to land subsidence in Joshimath city, cracks have appeared in many houses recently.

5. IRCON International Limited begins restoration work of Sri Lanka’s Northern Railway with Indian Line of Credit

With the Indian Line of Credit , IRCON International Limited started the restoration work of Sri Lanka ‘s Northern Railway . Sri Lankan Transport Minister Dr Bandula Gunawardena and Indian High Commissioner Gopal Baglay formally inaugurated the project by unveiling a plaque at Medwachia in Anuradhapura district. In this project, assisted by the Indian Transport Infrastructure Miniratna Enterprise, the 128 kilometer long Maho Omanthai Line will be improved at a cost of US$ 91 million 27 thousand. The maximum speed of the train will be increased to 100 kilometers per hour to improve connectivity with the northern region of Sri Lanka.

6. Guinness Book records world record for highest number of kites flown on first day of International Kite Festival in Gujarat

In Gujarat , the world record for flying the highest number of kites on the very first day of the International Kite Festival entered the Guinness Book. Earlier, the festival began with enthusiasm and fervor in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad . This festival is happening at an interval of two years. It has been organized in line with the G -20 theme of ‘ One Earth, One Family, One Future ‘. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said at the inauguration ceremony held at the Sabarmati Riverfront that the business of kite industry in Gujarat has reached about Rs 6 billion 25 crore and one lakh 30 thousand people are getting employment from this industry.

The first meeting of the Working Group on G-20 Financial Inclusion Indicators will begin in Kolkata . All member countries, invitees and organizations such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the United Nations will participate in the meeting. The main session will discuss the topic Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion. Shri Chanchal Sarkar, Advisor, Department of Financial Affairs, Ministry of Finance, told reporters that the meeting would begin with a discussion on enabling digital public infrastructure for financial inclusion. 12 financial experts of international level will participate in the discussion.

The Prime Minister’s National Apprenticeship Fair will be organized in 242 districts of the country . The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has said in a statement that several local traders, companies and organizations have been invited to the fair, which will provide training opportunities to the youth. Class V to Class 12 Passed Person, Skill Training Certificate or ITI Diploma holders or Graduates can apply for this Apprenticeship fair. Eligible persons may register on the website www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in and visit the nearest location of the Mela.

The glow of the fast growing auto sector in India is now visible globally. According to a Nikkei Asia report, India has overtaken Japan in vehicle sales last year to become the world’s third largest auto market . China is at the top of this list , while America is in second place. According to data from Nikkei Asia, in the year 2022, the maximum number of vehicles in the world are sold in China. A total of 26.27 million vehicles have been sold in China. At the same time, America coming at number two is with the sale of 15.4 million vehicles. Based on initial reports, total new vehicle sales in India stood at around 4.25 million units, while the number of vehicles sold in Japan stood at 4.2 million units.

11. Upper Dangri village of Jammu and Kashmir will get Village Defense Committee

After terrorists killed 6 people in Jammu and Kashmir ‘s Upper Dangri village in two days, locals have demanded that they be provided with weapons to deal with the attackers. Responding to the demands, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha assured the people on 2 January that they would get a Village Defense Committee like Doda district.(Village Defense Committee – VDC). The VDC was first formed in the mid-1990s as a force multiplier against terrorist attacks in the erstwhile Doda district (now Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban districts). The then Jammu and Kashmir administration had decided to provide arms to the residents of remote hill villages and train them in arms for their own defence. VDCs have now been renamed as Village Defense Guards (VDG). The new plan to set up VDGs in sensitive areas of Jammu and Kashmir was approved by the Union Home Ministry in March last year.

The Reserve Bank of India gave its approval to SBI Funds Management Limited to acquire up to 9.99% stake in Equitas Small Finance Bank through the schemes of SBI Mutual Fund . Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund and DSP Mutual Fund have also received RBI approval to buy 9.99% stake in the bank.

14. Jalna and Nagpur Police won the title of ‘Best Police Unit’

Jalna district police and Nagpur city police in Maharashtra have won the ‘Best Police Unit’ award for 2021. The award was conferred on the state police under various categories of maintaining law and order, using modern technology, community policing and developing administration. The names of the winners were announced on January 3 by Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Kulwant Sarangal. Jalna Police has got the award on Class A and Nagpur Police on Class B basis. According to a police circular, police units with less than 6,100 Indian Penal Code cases are placed in ‘Category A’, while police units with more than 6,100 IPC cases are placed in ‘Category B’.

15. Culture Ministry reports 50 ASI-protected monuments missing

50 monuments protected by the central government have gone missing in the country . The Central Government has given information in this regard in the Parliament. In the information given by the Union Ministry of Culture, it has been said that out of 3,693 Centrally Protected Monuments in the country, 50 monuments are missing. The central government has said that the disappearance of monuments is a matter of grave concern. The missing monuments include 11 monuments in Uttar Pradesh . Along with this , two monuments each in Delhi and HaryanaReported missing. Monuments of many other states including Assam, Uttarakhand are also included in this list. According to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), 14 of these monuments have been lost due to rapid urbanisation, while 12 are submerged by reservoirs or dams. The locations of the remaining 24 monuments are untraceable.

The Union Home Ministry has declared Dr. Asif Maqbool Dar , associated with the terrorist organization Hizb-ul-Mujahideen , as a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, 1967 . Maqbool Dar is a resident of Jammu and Kashmir and is currently in Saudi Arabia. The Ministry of Home Affairs has said in a notification that Maqbool Dar has been involved in inciting the youth of Kashmir Valley for terrorist activities through social media.

24. Former West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi passed away

Former Bengal Governor and senior BJP leader former Speaker of the former Legislative Assembly Pandit Kesharinath Tripathi passed away. He was 88 years old. A few days back, he was admitted to the hospital after complaining of shortness of breath. Expressing condolences on the death of Keshari Nath Tripathi, all the big leaders of the BJP, including the Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath, have expressed condolences to the family. Pandit Kesrinath Tripathi was born on 10 November 1934. He was counted among the senior leaders of BJP. Along with being a senior advocate of the Allahabad High Court , he also held the post of Speaker of the UP Legislative Assembly for many years. He was the Speaker of the UP Legislative Assembly three times.are. Apart from this, he has also been the president of the Uttar Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Pandit Kesrinath Tripathi was the Governor of West Bengal from 2014 to 2019, during which he was also given the additional charge of the states of Bihar, Meghalaya and Mizoram.
