1.SBI waives charge on IMPS fund transfer of up to Rs 1,000 :-

Country’s largest bank SBI has waived charges for fund transfer of up to Rs 1,000 through its IMPS (Immediate Payment Service) to promote small transactions.

State Bank of India had been charging Rs 5 along with the applicable service tax for IMPS fund transfer of up to Rs 1,000.

IMPS is an instant interbank electronic fund transfer service through mobile phones as well as internet banking.

For IMPS, charge will be Rs 5 along GST for fund transfer in the range of Rs 1,000 to Rs 1 lakh. The charge will go up to Rs 15 for transactions of Rs 1-2 lakh.

GST at the rate of 18 per cent is applicable on all financial transactions.

 

2.DIPP to set up India’s first TISC in Punjab :-

The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) signed an Institutional agreement with the Punjab State Council of Science and Technology in New Delhi to establish India’s first Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC) at Patent Information Centre, Punjab, under the World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) TISC program.

The objective of the TISC is to stimulate a dynamic, vibrant and balanced Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) system in India to foster creativity and innovation, thereby promoting entrepreneurship and enhancing social, economic and cultural development by establishing a network of TISCs in India.

The Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM) is designated as the National Focal Point for the TISC national network.

 

3.Decks cleared for CSK and RR :-

After a gruelling two-year suspension, the BCCI officially cleared the decks for the return of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals on Friday.

CSK marked the end of the exile with a vibrant social media engagement, sharing photos of its remarkable moments from the first eight editions in the league. And it naturally trended on Twitter for some time.

 

4.New Doppler weather radar commissioned :-

Indigenous Doppler weather radar, capable of predicting with increased accuracy weather events such as cyclone occurring in 500-km radius from Kochi, was inaugurated by Union Minister Harsh Vardhan, at Palluruthy in West Kochi.

The government is also exploring the scope of desalination of sea water, and various departments will be part of the mission, which seeks to scale up the activity to make drinking water available to all.

The S-Band Doppler weather radar in Kochi was made with support from ISRO and Bharat Electronics.

 

5.Vikram Limaye to take charge as NSE chief :-

National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday said veteran banker Vikram Limaye will join the bourse as its new managing director and chief executive from Monday.

He has been relieved by the Supreme Court of his responsibilities at Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) with immediate effect, NSE said in a statement.

 

6.President of India Inaugurates 7th Edition of KKM Memorial Gold Cup – Rural Football Tournament :-

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the 7th Edition of Kamada Kinkar Mukherjee Rural Football Tournament at Mackenzie Park Football Ground in Murshidabad district of West Bengal today (July 14, 2017).

The President witnessed an exhibition match between Mohun Bagan U-19 and Kingfisher East Bengal U-19. Mohun Bagan won the match by 1-0. The President greeted the players of both the teams and presented awards.

 

7.President of India Inaugurates Satya Bharti School in Kanidighi :-

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated a new school of Satya Bharti Foundation at Kanidighi in Murshidabad district of West Bengal today (July 14, 2017).

On the occasion, the President also launched a special compendium capturing the dreams and aspirations of an ideal schooling experience as expressed by the students under various education programs being run by the Bharti Foundation across the country.

 

8.EU, India set up fund for investments :-

European Union (EU) and India on Friday announced the establishment of an Investment Facilitation Mechanism (IFM) for EU investments in India.

“The mechanism will allow for a close coordination between the European Union and the Government of India with an aim to promote and facilitate EU investment in India,” an official statement said.

 

9.Raipur Airport Ranked First in Customer Satisfaction Index Survey :-

Raipur’s Swami Vivekananda Airport was once again ranked first in Customer Satisfaction among 49 airports in the country.

Raipur Airport achieved 4.84 score on a five point scale index in the latest CSI survey conducted by an independent agency for the period of January-June 2017,  followed by Udaipur, Amritsar and Dehradun airports which have scored 4.75, 4.74 and 4.73 respectively.

 

10.Environment Minister to Dedicate NCSCM to the Nation Tomorrow :-

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change is embarking on a new National Coastal Mission.

With this objective in view, Environment Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan will dedicate the National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management (NCSCM) to the nation at Chennai, tomorrow. The Minister will inaugurate the new building of the Centre and research infrastructure at Anna University campus in Chennai.

He pointed out that the research undertaken by NCSCM will be used directly for arriving at policy decisions and for capacity building of coastal communities and other stakeholders.

 

11.Third Meeting of the Governing Council of National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) held today under the Chairmanship of Finance Minister, Shri Arun Jaitley :-

The 3rd Meeting of the Governing Council of the “National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF)” was held here today under the Chairmanship of the Union Finance Minister, Shri Arun Jaitley where in the Finance Minister reviewed the performance of NIIF so far and action taken by it in order to attract investment from foreign Soverign Wealth Funds among others in the infrastructure sector in the country.

 

12.CIC to organise seminar on ‘Land Records and Right to Information Act 2005’ tomorrow :-

The Central Information Commission (CIC) will organise a seminar on Land Records and Right to Information Act 2005, here tomorrow.

The seminar will begin with an address by the Chief Information Commissioner Shri Radha Krishna Mathur, followed by a speech by Shri Dinesh Singh, Secretary, Department of Land Resources.

Speakers include Prof M. Sridhar Acharyulu, Information Commissioner, CIC, Shri Himangshu Sekhar Das, Chief Information Commissioner, Assam and Shri K. Ramanujam, Chief Information Commissioner, Gujarat.
