3 Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs organised “Cooking, Crafts and Clicks – Moods and Magic” Festival
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) is organizing a festival of street food and handicrafts “ Cooking, Crafts and Clicks – Moods and Magic ” at Amrit Udyan , Rashtrapati Bhavan from February 8 to 23, 2025. The initiative aims to celebrate the diverse street food and handicrafts of India and provide a platform to Self Help Groups (SHGs) and street food vendors from across India to expand their reach and integrate into the mainstream markets. The main attraction is the Street Food Festival, which will feature authentic flavours from across the country as well as 40 Self Help Groups led by women entrepreneurs showcasing handmade artefacts, handicraft products and traditional cuisines.
4 India-Egypt Joint Special Forces Exercise Cyclone-III begins in Rajasthan
The third edition of the joint special forces exercise Cyclone between India and Egypt began at Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan . Starting from February 10, this exercise will run till February 23, 2025. Exercise Cyclone is an annual event held alternately in India and Egypt. The last edition of the same exercise was held in Egypt in January 2024. The Indian contingent consists of 25 soldiers, represented by soldiers from two special forces battalions. The Egyptian contingent also consists of 25 soldiers, represented by soldiers from the Special Forces Group and Task Force of the Egyptian Special Forces. Exercise Cyclone aims to strengthen military relations between the two countries by enhancing interoperability, jointness and mutual exchange of special operations tactics.
Adani Defence and Aerospace in collaboration with Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Tuesday unveiled the Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System at ‘ Aero India 2025 ‘. The platform was launched by DRDO Director General (Electronics and Communication Systems) Dr BK Das in the presence of defence experts and industry partners. The Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System ensures long-range protection, agility and accuracy, making it a vital asset for modern defence forces. It provides seamless protection through advanced sensor capabilities, including automatic detection, classification and neutralisation of drones. This drone is integrated with a single 4×4 vehicle. It is equipped with a high-energy laser system to shoot down a drone. It has a 7.62 mm gun and advanced radar. It can hit targets within a range of 10 kilometres.
6 World Government Summit: 3 Indian students won bronze in the Global Excellence M-Gov Award
Three Indian computer science students from New Delhi won the bronze award at the global excellence M-Gov Awards-2025 at the World Government Summit in Dubai . The award recognises innovative technological solutions that advance mobile government services and societal progress. During the opening day of the summit, UAE Vice President Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan presented cash prizes worth ten thousand dollars. The winning team comprises Sagar Tewatia, Abhinav Mishra and Anushka Singh, all fourth semester computer science students of Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Delhi. The ‘M-Gov Award’ and ‘GovTech Award’ are prestigious annual awards presented by the UAE government as part of the World Government Summit.

This festival is also celebrated in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore and South East Asian countries and in the US and UK. This festival falls on the full moon day of the Thai month in the Tamil calendar .
8 India to host the next AI Action Summit
PM Modi, who arrived in France , said on Tuesday that it is a pleasure to host the next summit on behalf of India to increase the momentum of the AI Action Summit . In his concluding address, PM Modi said that one thing that has emerged from today’s discussion is the unity of vision and purpose of all the parties. The PM said, “I welcome the decision to establish the AI Foundation and the Council for Sustainable AI.” He said, “I congratulate France and my dear friend President Emmanuel Macron for these initiatives and assure our full support.” PM Modi suggested creating a “global partnership for AI”. France and India are co-hosting the third international summit in Paris on February 10 and 11, 2025 , focused on artificial intelligence (AI) . Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to France and the United States. In the first leg of his visit, he is visiting France from February 10 -12 at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
9 Olympic Esports Games 2027
The International Olympic Committee said on Tuesday that the first Olympic esports Games will be held in Riyadh , Saudi Arabia , in two years, part of a 12-year deal signed with the country last year . The IOC has been looking at esports for several years and set up a dedicated commission to explore opportunities for a younger generation of players involved in gaming. With its traditional audience gradually aging, the governing body is striving to connect with a younger generation of potential Olympic fans. In 2021, it developed the Olympic Virtual Series, a pilot venture into esports before signing a deal with Saudi Arabia last year to host the Olympic esports Games. Its founding partner for the event will be the kingdom’s eSports World Cup Foundation.
