1.Earthquake shocks in New Caledonia :-

In South Pacific, a magnitude 7.3 earthquake was felt in New Caledonia. The US Geological Survey said that the center of the earthquake was centered at the distance of 68 km from the Northeast of Iceland and it was located in depth of 25 km from the ground. Newcastle is a French territory that is made up of a series of islands.

 

2.Congress Working Committee declared program to be elected party president :-

The Congress Working Committee has declared the program to choose the party president. This decision was taken at the Working Committee meeting at the residence of party president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi. Notification of party’s internal elections will be issued on December 1 and elections will be held on December 16. Counting of votes will be done on December 19. Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and senior party leader Mallikarjun Kharge and P. Chidambaram also attended the meeting. According to party sources, Mr. Rahul Gandhi is expected to be the only candidate for the post of president. The Election Commission has set a deadline of December 31 to complete the organizational elections of the Congress.

 

3.The Finance Ministry has instructed the banks to deliberately stop the loan defaulters from purchasing the same asset :-

The Finance Ministry has told the banks that deliberately non-debt lenders should be stopped from buying the same asset again. This move of the Ministry will prove to be effective in reducing debt due to bankruptcy and declaration of insolvency under bankruptcy law. Official sources told that the Finance Ministry had been informed that some borrowers were deliberately trying to buy back assets under the Code of Diva.

At least 12 accounts are under debt refinancing and bankruptcy laws. Each account has a debt outstanding of more than Rs. 5000 crores. This amount is 25 percent of total immovable debts. The total outstanding balance of these accounts is about Rs.1,75,000 crore.

 

4.Recruitment rally for army and paramilitary forces in border areas of Jammu and Kashmir will be organized soon :-

The government has said that the recruitment rally for Army and paramilitary forces will be organized in border areas of Jammu and Kashmir soon. The Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said in the Kadwad that the proposal has already been sent to the respective departments. Shri Singh said that the Government is committed to providing the best road route to the people of the state and existing roads are being chaired. In the Prime Minister’s Office, the Minister of State, Dr. Singh said that under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna, Rs. 26 billion has been approved for strengthening the road network in Kathua-Udhampur parliamentary area..

 

5.President Ramnath Kovind will take part in the closing ceremony of Namami Barak Mahotsav :-

President Ramnath Kovind will participate in the closing ceremony of Namami Barak Mahotsav of three days in Silchar. The President is on a four day tour of the North-East till 22nd November. In view of the President’s first visit to Barak Valley, security arrangements have been tightened to prevent any unpleasant clashes. Significantly, on Saturday, Chief Minister Sarwananda Sonowal inaugurated Namami Barak programs on the banks of the Barak river in the districts of Kachhar, Karimganj and Halakani near the Indo-Bangladesh border. The purpose of these programs was to show respect to the rivers in addition to attracting investments in the state and to showcase the possibilities and abilities of emerging as a trade and commerce center of the Barak Valley.

 

6.Cold wave continues in hilly and tribal areas of Himachal Pradesh :-

Cold wave continues in mountainous and tribal areas of Himachal Pradesh. There is rain and snowfall in the fourth day today. Heavy snow has affected life in Lahoul Spiti. At the entrance of Lahoul Infliyat Rohtang Pass has laid a four-feet thick ice sheet. All the 46 people stranded in Koksars from heavy snow have been arranged to eat and live by the district administration whereas 35 people trapped in the Marad in the Mayad Valley have been transported to Udaipur. According to the district administration, the work of snow removal will be started when the weather is clear. However, in the meteorological department, the weather in the state is likely to remain clear from today. On the other side, the National Highway connecting Kashmir valley with Ladakh was closed on the third day due to heavy snowfall in Jogila Pass in Jammu and Kashmir. Temperature in Gulmarg in north Kashmir was recorded at four degrees six degrees Celsius and in Ladakh below minus 7 decimal 9 degree Celsius.

 

7.Rail service starts in Kashmir after 2 days :-

In the encounter with the security forces in Kashmir, it started today after the two services were disrupted between the siege of the areas for the killing of militants and for the search operation. A senior railway official said that the rail services in Kashmir Valley have been started. Rail service was suspended on Saturday and Sunday for security reasons. The official said that after getting the green signal from the police on Sunday night, the railway service has been started. Rail service on the Baramulla road of North Kashmir has been restored from Srinagar-Badgam in central Kashmir. Similarly, the rail service has been started between Badgam-Srinagar and Banihal of Jammu region from Anantnag-Kazikkund.

 

8.Open market share with declines :-

In the domestic stock market, business has started on the red mark. As soon as the business starts, the index is likely to decline in the major index Sensex and Nifty. In this scenario of the fall, the index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the 30-share index, is trading 8.45 points, ie 0.03 percent, at 33,334.35 levels. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the 50-share index, Nifty, is trading 9.85 points i.e. 0.10 percent and trading at 10,273.75 level. Significantly, the Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange on Friday rose 236 points last week on the last trading day. The 30-share Sensex touched a high of 33,520.82 points in trade but later it fell slightly by profit-booking and finally ended at 33,342.80 with a rise of 235.98 points or 0.71 per cent.

 

9.Indian women boxers will start their campaign in the World Young Women’s Boxing Contest :-

Indian women boxers will start their campaign in the World Youth Women Boxing Competition beginning in Guwahati, Assam. In the first round, three Indian boxers will face. Shashi Chopra will clash with the boxer from Uzbekistan in the 54 kilograms category, while Mankoram’s Vanlalhariyapui will face a Korean boxer in the 60kg category. Believing in the 69 kilograms weight category will be fought by Bulgarian boxers. Ten boxers of India are joining this competition.

 

10.President in Assam; Namami Barak celebrated the festival :-

On this occasion, the President said that the geographical location of the Barak valley provides the possibility of making it the center of inter-state and international trade. Several approaches to contacts have been initiated to achieve this possibility. The north-eastern part of the ‘East-West Corridor’ which goes from Kachhar in Assam to Kutch in Gujarat- starts with Silchar. The big railway line connecting Agartala with Delhi passes through the Barak valley. Business and tourism benefit from all these resources.
