1 Fifth Khelo India University Games begins in Rajasthan

The fifth Khelo India University Games are  beginning in Rajasthan on November 24th  . Nearly 5,000 athletes, including Olympic swimmer Srihari Nataraj and renowned archer Bhajan Kaur, will participate in the competition. Athletes from over 230 universities will compete in 24 sports events in this annual competition, which will be held in Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Ajmer, Bharatpur, and Bikaner  . This year, the competition includes sports like canoeing, kayaking, cycling, and beach volleyball. Srihari Nataraj, Bhajan Kaur, Preneet Kaur, and Aditi Gopichand Swami are strong medal contenders in their respective events. Srihari will participate in six events at these games.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi  has said that  India-Brazil-South Africa – IBSA  is not just a group of three countries, but an important platform connecting three continents, three major democracies and three large economies. He said that the three countries can complement each other’s development and set an example for sustainable development. At the India-Brazil-South Africa Leaders’ Meeting in Johannesburg, Prime Minister Modi highlighted opportunities for cooperation in coarse grains, natural farming, disaster resilience, green energy, traditional medicine and health security.

3 Ministry of Mines to formally launch first auction of limestone blocks in Jammu & Kashmir from today

The Ministry of Mines  will formally launch  the first auction of limestone blocks  in  the Union Territory  of Jammu and Kashmir . Coal Minister G. Kishan Reddy  will lead the auction. Chief Minister  Omar Abdullah  and Deputy Chief Minister  Surinder Kumar Choudhary  will also be present. The Ministry stated that this demonstrates the strong partnership between the Center and the states and the strategic importance of this initiative. This achievement is a significant step in promoting mining reforms initiated in 2015 under the Mines and Minerals Development and Regulation Act. Seven limestone blocks, covering an area of ​​approximately 314 hectares, have been identified in the Union Territory’s Anantnag, Rajouri, and Poonch districts. These deposits hold immense potential for high-quality limestone, crucial for cement manufacturing and other industrial applications.

4 warship Mahe to be commissioned at Mumbai Naval Deckyard

The Indian Navy is set to commission  the first of  the Mahe-class anti-submarine warfare shallow water craft (ASW-SWC), Mahe ,  at   the Naval Dockyard  in  Mumbai  . The commissioning of Mahe marks the beginning of a new generation of indigenous shallow water combatants. The new frigate, Mahe, is constructed with over 80 percent indigenous material. The ship was built  by Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL)  . Despite its small size, Mahe is extremely powerful, offering agility and precision that are crucial for coastal security. It is specifically designed for submarine detection, coastal patrol, and securing sea lanes. It is named  after the historic town  of  Mahe on the Malabar coast and bears the inscription ” Urumi ”  on its crest .

5 Amit Agarwal appointed as the new Telecom Secretary in a bureaucratic reshuffle.

 In a significant reshuffle of  senior bureaucrats , the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC)  has  appointed Amit Agarwal  as the new  Telecom Secretary  . He will replace Neeraj Mittal, who has now been made Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG). These appointments were announced on November 21, 2025, and are part of a major administrative reconfiguration in several key ministries.

6 Sandip Pradhan appointed as whole-time member of SEBI

The Government of India  has appointed Sandip Pradhan  as a new Whole-Time Member of  the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)  . He was currently serving as Director General of Income Tax (Investigation) in Pune. His tenure will be for three years, or until further orders are issued—whichever is earlier. The Ministry of Finance notified this appointment on November 19, 2025, under the SEBI Act, 1992. With this appointment, SEBI now has a total of three Whole-Time Members: Amarjeet Singh Kamlesh Chandra Varshney Sandip Pradhan (newly appointed)

7 UAE to be world’s third largest humanitarian donor in 2025

The United Arab Emirates (UAE)  has been ranked  the third-largest provider of humanitarian aid globally in 2025  , according to the latest data released by  the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA)  . The UN’s  Financial Tracking Service (FTS)  report shows that the UAE provided US$1.46 billion in humanitarian aid this year, representing 7.2% of the total aid recorded globally. The UAE  ranked third on the list, behind the US and the European Union  , and ahead of all other countries providing international humanitarian aid.

8 Australian Open 2025: Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen wins title in badminton

 In  badminton , Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen  has  won  the Australian Open Super 500 tournament 2025 men’s singles title   in Sydney . This is his first title of the year. Lakshya defeated 26th ranked Japanese player Yushi Tanaka 21-15, 21-11 in the final. Lakshya, a bronze medallist at the 2021 World Championships, last won a Super 300 title in Lucknow in 2024. However, he had not won a top-level title since his victory at the Canada Open the same year, though he came close to the title when he finished runner-up at the Hong Kong Super 500 in September.

9 Squash: Anahat Singh beats Joshna Chinappa to win women’s title at Indian Open

Indian squash  player  Anahat Singh  defeated  fellow Indian  Joshna Chinappa to win the women’s title at  the Indian Open  in  Indore  . Top seed and India’s number one women’s squash player Anahat defeated Joshna 3-2 (11-8, 11-13, 11-9, 6-11, 11-9) in 54 minutes to win the final match.

10 India won the first Blind Women’s T20 World Cup 2025

India  recorded  a historic victory  in the first-ever Blind Women’s T20 World Cup,  defeating Nepal by seven wickets   in  Colombo, Sri Lanka . India won the title with a resounding performance in the final played at the iconic  P. Sara Oval on November 23,  2025. This victory not only makes India the first-ever world champion in this format, but also demonstrates India’s leadership in promoting disability sports internationally.
