Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur launched the virtual drone e-learning platform at Agni College of Technology in Chengalpet near Chennai . Garuda’s Drone Skills and Training Summit will be organized in 775 districts across the country. The program is expected to reach 10 lakh youth.
5. Cabinet approves setting up of an advisory group to streamline the development of bamboo sector
Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has constituted an advisory group to streamline the development of bamboo sector .The formation has been approved. The group has representation from various stakeholders including academicians, researchers, innovators, progressive entrepreneurs, designers, farmer leaders, marketing experts and policy makers. Inter-ministerial and public-private consultations are envisaged to improve the developmental framework of the sector through synergy among all stakeholders in the bamboo value chain. Restructured National Bamboo Mission was launched during 2018-19 as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme. It primarily focuses on the development of a complete value chain of the bamboo sector to connect producers to consumers. The Union Agriculture Secretary will be the chairman of the National Bamboo Mission and the coordinator of the Mission Director Committee.
6. India ranked 48th in Global Aviation Safety Ranking 2022
India has moved up to the 48th position in the Aviation Safety Ranking released by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) . This is India’s best ranking in Aviation Safety Ranking. 7. 2022 New Energy Outlook Report released
The 2022 New Energy Outlook report was released by BloombergNEF , a global, clean energy research provider . This report analyzes net zero scenarios, or pathways, that limit global warming to 1.77 °C above pre-industrial levels by 2050 with 67 percent assurance.has been done. Greenhouse gas emissions from developing countries, especially India, are expected to continue rising through the end of the 2030s. In these countries, the reduction in emissions will be achieved only in the early 2030s. Since emissions in Europe, the US, Australia and Japan have already peaked in 2022, they are expected to decline rapidly in the coming years. In China, emissions are expected to peak in 2022 and stabilize for some time before re-aligning with the trajectories of developed countries. Limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C is not easily achieved. If proactive action is taken, it is possible to limit the global temperature rise to 1.77°C. Although, To achieve net zero by 2050, investment in the clean energy sector needs to be three times more than in fossil fuels. Emissions need to fall by 30 percent by the end of this decade and by 6 percent per year overall by 2040. Even then, the energy sector will not be able to reach the desired emissions targets unless there is a radical change.
8. EIU Cost of Living Index 2022 released

It compares the prices of over 200 goods and services in 172 countries around the world . The biannual report found wide-ranging changes in the cost of living in cities, largely triggered by the war in Ukraine. Moscow’s ranking rose from 72nd in 2021 to 37th in 2022. The weakening of currencies and economies has led to a decline in the cost of living in many European cities despite the global energy crisis. New York and Singapore due to higher incomes and a stronger US dollarBoth are on top rank. At least 22 US cities have improved in their rankings because of the rapid rise in prices. Cities such as Atlanta, Charlotte, Indianapolis, San Diego and Boston saw large increases in the cost of living. There has been an average increase of 11 per cent in utility bills across the world. Car prices have also increased by an average of 9.5 per cent in local currency terms. 21. RBI issues framework for overseas business of Indian banks
