1.French President Emmanuel McHome on a four-day trip to India :-

French President Emmanuel McHome is coming to India on a four-day trip. The purpose of his visit is to strengthen and broaden bilateral economic, political and strategic relations between the two countries.

Prime Minister Modi and Emmanuel McHome co-chaired the Conference of International Solar Cooperation. During the visit, agreements between India and France will be signed in different areas. India-France Chief Executive Officer will also hold a meeting. It is worth mentioning that between April 2000 and October 2017, France has been the ninth largest investor in India with a total investment of $ 6 billion. The French President’s visit is likely to accelerate these relations.

 

2.President Ramnath Kovind gave women power to 29 women and nine institutions on the occasion of International Women’s Day :-

President Ramnath Kovind presented the Women Power Award for the year 2017 on the occasion of International Women’s Day. In the special program held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, these awards were given to 29 women and nine institutions for outstanding services in the interest of women, especially the weak and disadvantaged sections. On this occasion, the President said that in order to give equal status to daughters, we have to change our traditions.

The Constitution Bench of five judges, headed by Chief Justice Justice Deepak Mishra, on hearing the plea for acceptance of Living Will, allowed incurable patients to die of death under certain rules and procedures. 
The apex court comprising Justice AK Sikri, Justice AM Khanwilkar, Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice Ashok Bhushan also fixed guidelines on how to give final shape to the final desire and the medical board will Desire to die will ask for death.
The Supreme Court also gave the system that these instructions will be applicable till it becomes a law. Under the assumption of Living Will, any woman or man will already be able to decide whether the illness should be kept on the life saving system in the event of incurable illness. 
The Chief Justice, while announcing the decision, said that all the judges were unanimous on the issue of Living Will so that the person who does not want to continue tolerating unbearable sufferings would be given the means to give death. 
Prashant Bhushan, senior advocate of the Supreme Court, who was present on behalf of the voluntary organization that filed the PIL, had earlier told the court that the patients who arrived in coma could not wish their wishes, hence they should get the right to die.

 

4.Poll campaign ended for Lok Sabha bypoll :-

The campaign for the Araria Lok Sabha seat in Bihar and the by-election by Jehanabad, Bhabhuya assembly seat has ended. There are 38 candidates in the fray. 
This by-election is being held due to the demise of RJD MLA Chandrika Singh Yadav from Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Mohammad Taslimuddin and Jehanabad MLA Araria and Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Anand Bhushan Pandey from Bhabua. 
The campaigning for the by-elections of Uttar Pradesh’s Phulpur and Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seats has ended. This sub-election is being done from Gorakhpur constituency due to the resignation of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya from Phulpur seat, as both of them have been elected for the Legislative Council. Both the states will be voted on Sunday and the counting will be done on March 14.

 

5.Information and Broadcasting Minister released the books published by the publication department on the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai and Razia Sultan :-

The Tori-Shivpura New Line (44.0 Kms) is being mainly manufactured for extracting coal from Amrapali and Magadha coal mines of Latehar and Chatra districts (Jharkhand). There is abundant coal reserves in this area. There are 3 stations, 5 large bridges, 7 over bridges and 39 small bridges between the Tori and Balumth line. According to initial estimates, Coal India Limited (CIL) has proposed to remove approximately 80 rake coal from various coal blocks daily. CIL 2 is developing sideways for connecting Amrapali and Magadha coal mines to the rail network.

 

8.Under the incredible India Heritage Series, the concert program is organized in Delhi, Varanasi and Kochi :-
