3.Chabahar Day convention begins in Mumbai

4.Fourth military exercise between India and Oman to be held in Al-Najah Rajasthan

The fourth military exercise between India and Oman will be held at the Foreign Training Node of the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Al-Najah , Rajasthan . A contingent of the Royal Army along with sixty jawans of the Oman Parachute Regiment has reached the exercise site. The soldiers of the Eighteenth Mechanized Infantry Battalion will represent the Indian Army. Earlier, the military exercise between the two countries was held in Muscat from 12 to 25 March 2019. This exercise will continue till 13th August. Its aim is to increase defense cooperation between the armies of the two countries. This will also boost the mutual relations between the two countries.

5.India and Vietnam Army’s 3rd joint exercise EX WINBAX-2022 will be held at Chandi Mandir, Chandigarh

The third edition of the Vietnam – India bilateral military exercise EX VINBEX 2022 will be held from 01 Aug to 20 Aug 2022 at Chandi Mandir . It will run till 20th August. This military exercise is a sequel to the first bilateral military exercise held in Vietnam in 2019 and is a major event towards strengthening bilateral ties between India and Vietnam. India and Vietnam share a comprehensive strategic partnership and defense cooperation is a key pillar of this partnership. Vietnam is an important partner in India’s Act East policy and Indo-Pacific vision. The theme of Ex Vinbacs – 2022 is the placement and deployment of an engineer company and a medical team as part of the UN team for peacekeeping operations.

9.Pranay Verma appointed as the new Ambassador of India to Bangladesh

10.39th meeting of Central Zoo Authority organized

The 39th meeting of the Central Zoo Authority was held at the National Zoological Park, New Delhi under the chairmanship of the Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupendra Yadav . Highlights of the meeting included the release of two publications – the National Genealogy Book for Snow Leopard (Studbook) and CZA’s quarterly newsletter, Ex-Situ Updates. The members were apprised of the following activities of CZA during the financial year 2021-22:

  • 18 zoos were evaluated, 10 masterplans approved for zoos.
  • 69 national and 10 international animals were acquired/transferred for conservation breeding and conservation education purposes in Indian zoos.
  • Management Effectiveness Assessment (MEE-Zoo) of zoos (for the first time in the world) has been conducted in 39 accredited zoos (large and medium zoos).
