4.Government constitutes task force and expert committee to prepare roadmap for coal based hydrogen production
Ministry of Coal has constituted a Task Force and Expert Committee to prepare a road map for coal based hydrogen production . The Hydrogen Mission was announced by the Prime Minister on India’s 75th Independence Day . Coal is one of the important sources of hydrogen production. The task force will be headed by the Additional Secretary of the Ministry . The expert committee was chaired by the Director General, Confederation of Indian Petroleum Industry , R.K. Malhotra will do. The committee will prepare a road map for coal based hydrogen production. This committee will send its report in about three months.

6.Cabinet approves procurement of 56 cargo aircraft for Indian Air Force

It has been approved to buy them from Spain . C-295 M.W. The transport aircraft is capable of carrying a load of five to ten tonnes . Equipped with modern technology, this aircraft will replace the outdated Avro aircraft of the Indian Air Force . The aircraft has a rear ramp door for quick action and paradropping of troops and cargo. Within 48 months of the signing of the contract, 16 aircraft will be received from Spain , which will be in flight condition. Other than thisThe 40 aircraft will be built by the company in India as part of a consortium with Tata . The Tata consortium will manufacture 40 such aircraft within ten years after the contract. This is the first such project in which a private Indian company will manufacture military aircraft. Indigenous Electronic Warfare Suites will be installed in all 56 aircraft. The project will boost the aviation ecosystem in India by which micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) spread across the country will be able to manufacture aircraft parts.

The Cabinet has also given its approval for the signing of an agreement between India and Portugal on the recruitment of Indian nationals for work in Portugal . Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh and Road Transport and Highways Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the Emergency Landing Field (ELF) . Apart from this, on September 9, 2021, they will be visiting the Emergency Landing Field on the Gandhav-Bakhasar section (National Highway-925) south of Barmer , Rajasthan .Oversee the aeronautical activities. This is the first time that a national highway will be used for emergency landing of Indian Air Force aircraft. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has prepared a three-km stretch of 41/430 km to 44/430 km of Satta-Gandhav on National Highway-925A as an Emergency Landing Field (ELF) for the Indian Air Force. The landing facility is part of the two-lane Gagaria-Bhakhasar and Satta-Gandhav sections of the recently developed Khandje-built elevated (in the form of a sidewalk). Its total length is 196.97 km and its cost is Rs 765.52 crore. It has been built under the Bharatmala project. This project will improve connectivity between border villages of Barmer and Jalore district.

The first India-Japan High Level Policy Dialogue between the Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Mr. Bhupender Yadav and Mr. Koizumi Shinjiro , the Minister of Environment of Japan, was held on 7 September 2021 via virtual medium. The meeting covered air pollution, sustainable technologies and transportation, climate change, marine waste, fluorocarbons and COP-26.Other issues were discussed. In the meeting, Mr. Bhupendra Yadav acknowledged the importance of India-Japan bilateral cooperation on environment and appreciated the efforts made by Japan in bringing new technologies to India. Shri Yadav also highlighted India’s achievements in tackling climate change under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Shri Bhupendra Yadav said that India and Japan can explore strengthening bilateral cooperation especially on cyclical economy and resource efficiency, technology of low carbon emissions, green hydrogen, etc.

The pollen calendar was created after studying airborne/airborne pollen and its seasonal variations for nearly two years. Pollen calendars (PCs) represent the timing dynamics of airborne/airborne pollen present in a particular geographic area. They capture easily accessible visual details about the different airborne pollens present throughout the year in a single image. ‘Pollen calendars’ are often location-specific, with pollen concentrations closely related to locally distributed vegetation. The regional pollen calendar is being used extensively by the EU, UK and US to prevent and diagnose ‘allergic rhinitis’/’hay fever’ and to estimate the timing and severity of pollen season. Pollen grains are male biological structures, whose primary responsibility is ‘conception’, But when inhaled by humans, they can put pressure on the respiratory system and cause allergic reactions. 13.Guidelines for storing card data: RBI
Recently the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has given new instructions regarding the storage of bank card data by entities or other merchants . It has directed that no entity or merchant other than the card issuer and the card network shall store the card details. This will reduce the fraud caused due to sharing of card details. From January 2022, no entity in the card transaction or payment chain will be required to store physical card data other than the card issuer and the card network. Any such data already stored will be deleted. It has also increased the tokenization of Card-on-File (CoF) by card issuers. This has allowed card issuers to provide card tokenization services as Token Service Providers (TSPs). TSPs will offer token facility only for cards issued or affiliated by them. Tokenization refers to the replacement of the actual card details with an optional code called a “token”, which will be unique to the combination of the card, token requester and device. The primary responsibility of the ‘Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection’ set up by Greece is to formulate policies to deal with rising temperatures as a result of climate change and to promote firefighting and disaster relief operations.

16.Bhupendra Yadav launches ‘PRAN’ portal
Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav launched a portal named ‘ Pran ‘ on September 7, 2021 . The ‘PRAN’ portal will be used to track the progress of the National Clean Air Program (NCAP) to follow India’s commitment to ensure clean air and blue skies for all. The portal was launched on the occasion of ‘International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies’ in non-attainment cities (NC). Non-attainment cities are those cities which failed to meet national air quality standards over a period of 5 years. With India’s efforts, 86 cities showed better air quality in 2019 and this increased to 104 cities in 2020.

A smog tower is a structure designed for large or medium scale air purifiers.is designed as. It helps in reducing air pollution through the filter. The height of the smog tower at Anand Vihar is more than 20 meters. It is of downdraft type in which polluted air will come in from the top of the tower and clean air will come out from below. This filter has been installed to reduce the localized particulate matter. The filtration system used in the Smog Tower is designed by the University of Minnesota. Its expected efficiency is 90%. This smog tower has been constructed by Tata Projects Limited in association with NBCC (India) Limited as Project Management Consultant. Earlier a smog tower was installed at Connaught Place in Delhi and India’s tallest air purifier was also inaugurated in Chandigarh.

According to a new ‘ Red List ‘ from the IUCN , the world’s shark and ray populations have been on the decline since 2014 and are now at risk of extinction . The new Red List was released by the IUCN in the global conference with the aim of protecting the declining species . Around 37% of sharks and ‘rays’ worldwide are considered endangered by 2021. In 2014, that number was 33%. This trend was the result of overfishing, habitat loss and climate change. The sea shark population has also decreased by 71% since 1970. Hundreds of species are re-evaluated each year on the IUCN Red List. Of the 1,38,000 species that were tracked, more than 38,000 are at risk of extinction.
