In the financial year 2021-22 , India recorded its highest ever apparel and clothing exports , amounting to $44.4 billion. The US was the top export destination for textile products. It accounts for 27% of all apparel and clothing exports. Exports to the European Union accounted for 18% of the total. 12% of the total exports went to Bangladesh. Exports to the UAE accounted for 6% of the total. The export of cotton textiles stood at US$ 17.2 billion with a share of 39%. This product category registered a growth of 54% and 67% during 2021-22 as compared to FY 2020-21 and FY 2019-20 respectively.
