1.PM Modi announces repeal of three controversial agriculture laws

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said while addressing the country’s three controversial agricultural laws to announce the cancellation of. He said that soon the constitutional process to repeal these three agricultural laws would be started. Three Agriculture Laws –
1. Farmer’s Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020
This act was introduced with the objective of opening agricultural sales and marketing outside the notified Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) mandis for farmers. The Act removes barriers to inter-state trade and also provides a framework for electronic trading of agricultural produce. It seeks to break the monopoly of government-controlled mandis and allows farmers to sell directly to private buyers.
2. Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Act, 2020
This act creates a national framework for contract farming. It provides a legal framework for farmers to enter into written contracts with companies and produce for them.
3. The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020
This act removes pulses, cereals, edible oils, oilseeds, onions and potatoes from the list of essential commodities. It seeks to deregulate the production, movement, storage and distribution of these food items.

2.PM Modi launched ‘Ration Aapke Gram’ scheme and ‘Sickle Cell Mission’ in MP

4.Arunachal Pradesh government adopts ‘firm declaration’ on climate change

6.e-governance for civil aviation

Recently the Ministry of Civil Aviation has launched e-Governance (e-GCA) online platform for Civil Aviation through which 298 services including Civil Aviation Pilot Licensing and Medical Examinationwill provide. The launch of the e-GCA project was part of a 100-day action plan for the aviation sector under the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The portal was developed by Tata Consultancy Services. It is a portal for dissemination of information and online, quick service delivery in a secure environment. It provides end-to-end solution for connectivity with all regional offices including multiple software applications. It will provide services to various DGCA stakeholders such as pilots, aircraft maintenance engineers, air traffic controllers, air operators, airport operators, flight training organisations, maintenance and design organisations. It aims to enhance the efficiency of various services of DGCA and increase accountability and transparency in all functions of DGCA.

7.Puri Heritage Corridor Project

The Odisha government will soon lay the foundation stone of the Puri Heritage Corridor , which will be built at a cost of Rs 800 crore . The project is a part of the Expansion of Infrastructure and Development of Heritage and Architecture (ABADHA) scheme to develop Puri into a world-class heritage city . Envisaged in the year 2016, Puri Heritage Corridor project unveiled in December 2019 in the holy city of PuriIt was done to convert it into an International Site of Heritage. The project includes redevelopment of major parts of the holy city and surrounding Jagannath Temple for visitors and tourists. The project will include Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) building redevelopment, a 600 capacity Srimandir Welcome Centre, Jagannath Cultural Centre, Badadanda Heritage Streetscape, beach development, Puri Lake, Musa River revival plan etc. It is believed to have been built by Anantvarman Chodaganga, a king of the Eastern Ganga dynasty, in the 12th century. Jagannath Puri Temple is called ‘Yamanika Tirtha’, according to Hindu beliefs, the power of ‘Yama’, the god of death, ended because of the presence of Lord Jagannath here.

8.Central government proposes measures to reduce Delhi’s air pollution

The central government , in an affidavit before the Supreme Court , has proposed several measures to reduce Delhi’s air pollution . The central government expressed its reluctance to ask its employees to work from home. It has advised its employees to take up carpooling in the Delhi-NCR region to reduce the number of vehicles used by them. The Center also referred to the directions issued by the Air Quality Management Commission for Delhi-NCR. The instructions include- Ban on entry of trucks in Delhi till November 21. Trucks carrying essential commodities will be exempted. Thermal plant should be closed. Ban on construction activities. Deployment of anti smog guns and water sprinklers.

9.Antibiotic consumption increased by 46% in last two decades: Study

The Global Research on Antimicrobial Resistance (GRAM) project published a study in The Lancet Planetary Health . According to this study, the global antibiotic consumption rate has increased by 46% in the last two decades.happened. GRAM used an innovative approach by applying statistical modeling techniques. This includes multiple data sources and types, such as large-scale household surveys in low-income and middle-income countries, antibiotic consumption data from the World Health Organization (WHO), and drug sales data. GRAM also gathered data from the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). Total antibiotic consumption rates vary across the country, ranging from 5 DDD to 45.9 DDD per 1000 population per day. Between 2000-2018, the global antibiotic consumption rate increased by 46%, from 9.8 to 14.3 DDD per 1000 population per day. In low-income and middle-income countries, the antibiotic consumption rate increased by 76%, increasing from 7.4 to 13.1 DDD per 1000 per day. However, in high-income countries, The consumption rate was stable. Antibiotic consumption rate increased by 116% in South Asia. The second largest increase (111%) was observed in North Africa and the Middle East region.

11.E-labor : 70% informal workers are SC, ST, OBC

7.86 crores so far on e-Shram portal , India’s first centralized database of unorganized workersMore than one registration has been done. Of this number, 40.5% belong to the Other Backward Classes (OBC), 27.4 percent to the general category, 23.7 percent to the Scheduled Castes (SC) and 8.3 percent to the Scheduled Tribes (ST). These estimates are important as they provide an indication of the social profile of informal sector workers in India. According to the 2011 census, the share of the population of the Scheduled Castes was 16.2% and that of the Scheduled Tribes was 8.2%. The Census 2011 does not give details of the OBC count. However, according to a survey conducted by the National Sample Survey Organization (NSSO) in 2007, the population share of OBCs was 40.9%. The population share of the general category population was about 34%. The highest number of registrations (53.6%) were seen in the agriculture sector. This is followed by the construction sector (12.2 percent) and domestic and domestic workers (8. 71 percent). The e-shram portal is recording the primary as well as secondary occupations of workers in the unorganized sector. In the agriculture sector, West Bengal holds the top position with 13.38% share. It is followed by Odisha (10.5%), Uttar Pradesh (9.15%), Bihar (5.71%) and Jharkhand (3.03%). In manufacturing, the top four states with the highest number of registrations are West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Odisha.

13.MoFPI signs MoU with Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying to improve livestock sector

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) on November 17, 2021, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD)signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The MoU was signed to facilitate extension of benefits to dairy entrepreneurs and dairy industries by convergence of several schemes by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying. It will also help generate income for sustainable development of rural poor by providing credit support, providing necessary technology and strengthening quality control. Such coordinated efforts will help farmers to double their income through livestock sector. It refers to selective breeding and livestock rearing. It is the management and care of animals in which genetic traits and behavior of animals are developed to earn profit. The animal husbandry sector supports the livelihood of about 55% of the rural population in India. According to the Economic Survey-2021, the contribution of livestock in agriculture and allied sector to the Gross Value Added (at constant prices) in 2014-15 was 24. It increased from 32 percent to 28.63% in 2018-19. India is the largest livestock owner in the world.
