5.A poster exhibition on the relevance of Bhagwad Geeta in Dubai:-

As part of the celebration of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary, an exhibition of posters will be organized here on the relevance of Bhagavad Gita this week.

This two-day exhibition will commence on January 4, in which ideas of Mahatma Gandhi will be promoted and various types of handcrafted Khadi products will also be displayed.

The Indian Consulate General in Dubai said that as part of Mahatma Gandhi’s celebration of 150th birth anniversary, the exhibition ‘ Gita Intelligence ‘ will be organized.

6.Smriti Mandhana becomes ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year and ODI Cricketer of the Year:-

ICC Chief Executive David Richardson also congratulated Mandhana. He said , ” Smriti has thrilled the fans for their great performance in this memorable year for women’s cricket. ”

Australian opener and wicketkeeper Elisa Helei was named the ICC’s Twenty20 International Women’s Cricketer of the Year. He made 225 runs in six matches in the Women’s World Twenty20.

England’s 19-year-old spinner Sophie Ecclestone was named the emerging player of the year. He took 18 wickets in nine ODIs and 17 wickets in 14 T-20 internationals.

7.Sri Lanka and Bangladesh fail to qualify for T20 World Cup in Super 12:-

Former champions Sri Lanka and Bangladesh failed to qualify for the T-20 World Cup Super 12 directly due to their low ranking and now they have to take part in the group stage competition to make it to the venue in 2020 .

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday announced the teams qualifying for the Super 12 , including top-ranked Pakistan , India , England , Australia , South Africa , New Zealand , West Indies and Afghanistan.

But former champions and three-time runners-up Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will have to play with six other qualifiers in the group stage of the tournament. The tournament will be held in Australia between October 18 and November 15 , 2020 .

According to the qualification criteria, the top eight teams get a place in the Super 12 stage, while the other two teams have to play in the group stage with the other teams. Other teams of the group stage will be determined by the ICC T-20 World Cup qualifiers to be held in 2019 . Four teams from the group stage will make the place in Super 12 .

Sri Lankan captain Lasith Malinga expressed disappointment that the 2014 champion had failed to make a place in Super 12 , but he is expected to do well in the tournament.

Malinga said , ” It is a little disappointing that we could not make straight place in Super 12 but I am sure we will do well in the tournament. ”

Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan said that the recent performance has increased the confidence of the team that he will face the challenge of the challenge.
