January :-

Jan 01, 2018 – 125th Birth Anniversary of Noted Indian Scientist Satyendra Nath Bose.

Jan 04 – World Braille Day. It commemorates contribution of Louis Braille who invented reading and writing system that helped blind people across world.

Jan 09 – Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) in India, marking return of M K Gandhi to India from south africa on Jan 9, 1915. It was first celebrated by NDA Government in 2003.

Jan 10 – World Hindi Day. It marks holding first World Hindi Conference on 10 January, 1975. Jan 10, 2018 also marks 25th Raising Day of Army Air Defence.

February :-

Feb 02 – World Wetlands Day. It marks adoption of Convention on Wetlands (also called as Ramsar Convention) in 1971 in Ramsar (Iran). Theme for 2018 is Wetlands for a Sustainable Urban Future.

On this occasion, Floating Treatment Wetland (FTW) was inaugurated in Neknampur Lake in Hyderabad to purify polluted lake. Plants planted on FTW can clean lake by absorbing nitrates and other pollutants in water.
