  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida held fruitful talks and discussed ways to boost economic and cultural ties between the two countries. Mr. Modi and Mr. Kishida also held delegation level talks at the conference. The two exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest to promote a partnership for peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond. India and Japan have a multifaceted cooperation within the scope of the Special Strategic and Global Partnership. This is Mr. Kishida’s first visit to India after assuming the office of Prime Minister of Japan. The two leaders are meeting for the first time during the 14th India-Japan Annual Summit .
