India Hypertension Control Initiative (IHCI) Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare , Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) , State Governments and World Health Organization-IndiaIt is a joint initiative of It was launched in 2017 and expanded in a phased manner to cover over 130 districts across 23 states in India. It was recognized for its ability to prevent and control non-communicable diseases and to provide integrated people-centred primary care. The initiative controlled hypertension at the level of the primary healthcare system, thereby reducing deaths from heart attacks, strokes and kidney failure. Under this initiative, the existing healthcare delivery system was strengthened and steps were taken to improve interventions under the National Health Mission. Under this initiative, Over 34 lakh people with hypertension were treated in government health facilities like Ayushman Bharat Health Wellness Centers (HWCs). Data were collected to control patients’ blood pressure and to keep track of them to maintain follow-up. About 50 percent of those treated under this initiative had blood pressure under control.

3. MoU signed between NCC and United Nations Environment Program
A Memorandum of Understanding between the National Cadet Corps-NCC and the United Nations Environment Program was signed in New Delhi . Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was also present on the occasion. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has successfully test -fired a hybrid motor that could pave the way for a new propulsion system for new launch vehicles (rockets) . ISRO Headquarters in Bengaluru said that the 30 kN hybrid motor was tested at ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC) in Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu which was successful. The organization said that ISRO’s Liquid Propulsion Systems Center (LPSC) assisted in this test. The motor used hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) as fuel while liquid oxygenwas used as an oxidising agent. Unlike a solid-solid or liquid-liquid mixture, a hybrid motor uses a solid fuel and a liquid oxidizer.
15. Defense Ministry signs contract with BrahMos Aerospace Pvt Ltd for procurement of additional dual role surface-to-surface BrahMos missiles
Ministry of Defense has signed a contract with M/s BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited – BAPL for acquisition of additional dual role, surface-to-surface capable BrahMos missiles , promoting self-reliance in defense production. . The total cost of this missile is about one thousand seven hundred crore rupees. This dual-role missile will significantly enhance the operational capability of the Indian Navy’s fleet. BAPL India and Russia is a joint venture. It is making significant contribution in enabling new generation surface-to-surface missiles with enhanced range and dual role for land as well as anti-ship attacks. The contract will give a boost to the country’s production of critical weapon systems and ammunition, with the active participation of indigenous industry.
16. New framework introduced for social stock exchange
SEBI Social Stock Exchange (SSE )has unveiled a framework for this, which was notified in July 2022. Under the new rules, the Social Stock Exchange (SSE) will be a separate section from the existing stock exchanges. Social enterprises eligible to participate in SSE must be non-profit organizations and for-profit social enterprises with social purpose and impact as their primary target. These enterprises should focus on worthy social objectives for the development and welfare of underserved and less privileged populations or areas. The new framework specifies minimum requirements for non-profit organizations (NPOs) to register with as well as disclosure requirements. NPOs should disclose the funds raised by issuing zero-coupon zero-principal instruments. Listed NPOs are required to submit a statement of utilization of funds to the SSE within 45 days from the end of the quarter.
17. Election commission suggests cap on cash donations to political parties
The Chief Election Commissioner has written to the Union Law Ministry to limit undisclosed political donations . He has made several recommendations to reduce election donations through black money . Disclose donations above Rs 2,000 : Under the existing rules, political parties are required to disclose all donations above Rs 20,000 through their contribution reports. The Election Commission has recommended disclosure of all donations above Rs 2,000. cash donation limit
: The Election Commission also found that the donations reported by some political parties were nil, their audited accounts details revealed that they had received a large amount by way of cash below the limit of Rs 20,000. It recommended capping cash donations to 20 per cent or a maximum of Rs 20 crore of the total money received by a party, whichever is lower.
Mandatory Digital/Check Transactions: The Election Commission has called for making digital transactions or account payee check transfer mandatory for all expenses above Rs 2,000 to an entity/individual.
Separate account for election finance : Maintaining a separate bank account for election expenses is already part of the directive, the Election Commission wants it to become part of Rule 89 of the Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961. This would require the candidate to maintain a separate account for the receivables and payments related to the election.
Transparency in foreign donations : The Election Commission also demanded electoral reforms so that no foreign donations could enter political funding.
