The ‘ 2022 UN Interagency Task Force, and WHO Special Program on Primary Health Care Award ‘ was awarded to India for the India Hypertension Control Initiative (IHCI) . The United Nations award was presented on September 21, 2022 at a program organized by the United Nations General Assembly in New York . India Hypertension Control Initiative (IHCI) Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare , Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) , State Governments and World Health Organization-IndiaIt is a joint initiative of It was launched in 2017 and expanded in a phased manner to cover over 130 districts across 23 states in India. It was recognized for its ability to prevent and control non-communicable diseases and to provide integrated people-centred primary care. The initiative controlled hypertension at the level of the primary healthcare system, thereby reducing deaths from heart attacks, strokes and kidney failure. Under this initiative, the existing healthcare delivery system was strengthened and steps were taken to improve interventions under the National Health Mission. Under this initiative, Over 34 lakh people with hypertension were treated in government health facilities like Ayushman Bharat Health Wellness Centers (HWCs). Data were collected to control patients’ blood pressure and to keep track of them to maintain follow-up. About 50 percent of those treated under this initiative had blood pressure under control.

3. MoU signed between NCC and United Nations Environment Program

15. Defense Ministry signs contract with BrahMos Aerospace Pvt Ltd for procurement of additional dual role surface-to-surface BrahMos missiles

SEBI Social Stock Exchange (SSE )has unveiled a framework for this, which was notified in July 2022. Under the new rules, the Social Stock Exchange (SSE) will be a separate section from the existing stock exchanges. Social enterprises eligible to participate in SSE must be non-profit organizations and for-profit social enterprises with social purpose and impact as their primary target. These enterprises should focus on worthy social objectives for the development and welfare of underserved and less privileged populations or areas. The new framework specifies minimum requirements for non-profit organizations (NPOs) to register with as well as disclosure requirements. NPOs should disclose the funds raised by issuing zero-coupon zero-principal instruments. Listed NPOs are required to submit a statement of utilization of funds to the SSE within 45 days from the end of the quarter.

17. Election commission suggests cap on cash donations to political parties

Mandatory Digital/Check Transactions: The Election Commission has called for making digital transactions or account payee check transfer mandatory for all expenses above Rs 2,000 to an entity/individual.
Separate account for election finance : Maintaining a separate bank account for election expenses is already part of the directive, the Election Commission wants it to become part of Rule 89 of the Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961. This would require the candidate to maintain a separate account for the receivables and payments related to the election.
Transparency in foreign donations : The Election Commission also demanded electoral reforms so that no foreign donations could enter political funding.
