- जेटली ने वैमानिकी परीक्षण श्रेणी देश को समर्पित की :-
(I)रक्षा मंत्री श्री अरुण जेटली ने कर्नाटक के चित्रदुर्ग में रक्षा अनुसंधान एवं विकास संगठन (डीआरडीओ) के नवनिर्मित वैमानिकी परीक्षण रेंज (एटीआर) का उद्घाटन किया है।
(II)रक्षा मंत्री ने कहा कि एटीआर जैसी सुविधाएं अनुसंधान के लिए स्थितियों को बनाने में मदद करेंगे, जो वैमानिक परीक्षण के क्षेत्र में आवश्यक मानव संसाधन के प्रकार को विकसित करेगा।
2.अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संयुक्त राष्ट्र शांतिरक्षक दिवस: 29 मई :-
(I)29 मई को मनाया जाने वाला अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संयुक्त राष्ट्र शांतिरक्षक दिवस “सभी पुरुषों और महिलाओं को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करने का एक दिन है जिन्होंने संयुक्त राष्ट्र शांति अभियान संचालन में सेवा की है या कर रहे है।
(II)अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संयुक्त राष्ट्र शांतिरक्षक दिवस 2017 विषय “विश्वभर शांति में निवेश” है।
- डब्ल्यूएचओ ने अहमदाबाद में भारत के पहले जिंका वायरस के मामलों की पुष्टि की :-
(I)विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (डब्ल्यूएचओ) ने अपनी बुलेटिन में पुष्टि की है कि भारत में ज़िका वायरस के पहले तीन मामले फरवरी 2016 और जनवरी 2017 के बीच अहमदाबाद में दर्ज किये गये थे।
(II)इसमें कहा गया है कि केंद्र ने 15 मई, 2017 को दो गर्भवती महिलाओं और एक बुजुर्ग व्यक्ति में, तीन मामलों की पुष्टि की।
(III)हालांकि, राज्य सरकार द्वारा जिका के मामलों का पता लगाने की पुष्टि नहीं की गई, क्योंकि यह वाइब्रेंट गुजरात ग्लोबल इन्वेस्टमेंट सम्मेलन के दौरान सामने आये थे।
- भारत ने मेक्सिको में वैश्विक आपदा जोखिम न्यूनीकरण बैठक में भाग लिया :-
(I)भारत ने मेक्सिको में आयोजित पांच दिवसीय ग्लोबल प्लेटफार्म फॉर डिसास्टर रिस्क रिडक्शन (जीपीडीआरआर) शिखर सम्मेलन में हिस्सा लिया है।
(II)गृह मंत्री राज्य केरेन रिजिजू के नेतृत्व में एक भारतीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने शिखर सम्मेलन में हिस्सा लिया।
(III)22 मई से 26 मई के बीच मेक्सिको के कैनकन में आयोजित शिखर सम्मेलन में राज्य प्रमुखों, मंत्रियों और सीईओ समेत 5,000 से ज्यादा प्रतिनिधि शामिल हुए।
(IV)जीपीआरडीआर आपदा जोखिम कटौती (एसएफडीआरआर) 2015-2030 के लिए सेंडाइ फ्रेमवर्क के कार्यान्वयन में रणनीतिक सलाह, समन्वय, साझेदारी विकास की समीक्षा के लिए एक वैश्विक मंच है, जिसे आपदा जोखिम में कमी पर मार्च 2015 को सेंडाई, जापान में तीसरे यूएन वर्ल्ड सम्मेलन में अपनाया गया था।
- हरियाणा में पत्रकारों के लिए पेंशन योजना की घोषणा :-
(I)हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल खट्टर ने 60 साल से अधिक उम्र और पेशे में 20 साल पूरा करने वाले पत्रकारों के लिए 10,000 मासिक पेंशन योजना सहित कई प्रोत्साहन की घोषणा की।
(II)उन्होंने 10 लाख रुपये के जीवन बीमा कवर और 500,000 रुपये नकद रहित मेडिक्लेम पॉलिसी की भी घोषणा की।
(III)पंचकूला में “स्वर्ण जयंती पत्रकारों की मीटिंग” में मुख्यमंत्री द्वारा घोषणाएं की गई।
- मणिपुर का दाइलोंग गांव को जैव विविधता विरासत स्थल घोषित :-
(I)मणिपुर सरकार ने राज्य के जैव विविधता विरासत स्थल के रूप में तामेंगलॉंग जिले के डाइलोंग गांव को घोषित किया है।
(II)11.35 वर्ग किलोमीटर के क्षेत्र को कवर करने वाले डाइलोंग गांव को जीवविज्ञान विविधता अधिनियम, 2002 की धारा 37 (1) के तहत जैवविविधता विरासत स्थल घोषित किया गया है।
(III)मणिपुर जैव विविधता बोर्ड की सिफारिश के बाद यह घोषणा की गई थी।

8.Construction Commences on World’s Largest Telescope in Chile :-
(I)Construction works for building Extremely Large Telescope (ELT) has commenced in Chile.
(II)After completion, the Extremely Large Telescope will become the world’s largest optical telescope which will be five times larger than the top observing instruments that are in use today.
(III)The telescope will be constructed at a 3,000 meter-high mountain in the middle of the Atacama desert.
9.Sangeet Natak Akademi Puraskar for Satyabrata Rout :-
(I)Satyabrata Rout has been awarded Sangeet Natak Akademi Puraskar for the year 2016. He is a professor from the Department of Theatre Arts, S N School of Arts and Communication, University of Hyderabad (UoH).
(II)He has been awarded for developing a unique method of teaching and practicing direction and design achieved from his experience working with eminent theatre practitioners and scholars.
10.Fact Box: Newly Built Aeronautical Test Range at Chitradurga in Karnataka :-
(I)Defence Minister Arun Jaitley has inaugurated the newly built Aeronautical Test Range (ATR) of the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) at Chitradurga in Karnataka.
11.Tropical Cyclone “Mora” :-
(I)A deep depression in the Bay of Bengal has been declared intensified into a Tropical Cyclone named Mora.
(II)This is second cyclone in the Bay of Bengal after Maarutha, which helped bring in the Monsoon earlier by a week over Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
12.C.A. Bhavani Devi becomes first Indian to win a Gold in International Fencing tournament :-
(I)India’s C.A Bhavani Devi has become first Indian to win a Gold Medal in an international fencing tournament.
(II)She has won the gold medal in the sabre event of the Turnoi Satellite Fencing Championship held at Reykjavik in Iceland.
(III)In the final, she beat Sarah Jane Hampson of Great Britain 15-13 on points.
13.India and Mauritius Inks Four Agreements :-
(I)India and Mauritius have signed four agreements after delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Jugnauth in New Delhi.
Four Agreements are –
(I)Agreement on Maritime Security
(II)Memorandum of understanding (MoU) for setting up of a civil services college in Mauritius.
(III)MoU was signed between the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and Mauritius Oceanography Institute in marine sciences and technology.
(IV)Submission of instrument of ratification of International Solar Alliance (ISA) by Mauritius.
14.West Bengal will not abide by notification on cattle slaughter, says Mamata :-
(I)West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said her government would not abide by the recent notification of the Union government imposing restrictions on cattle slaughter.
(II)“We are not accepting the notification. We will take recourse to law and consult our advocate general,” she said at a press conference at the State Secretariat
(III)Ms Banerjee described the notification as a “deliberate attempt to encroach upon the State power”, and termed it “unconstitutional.”
