1 India performed brilliantly at the WorldSkills Asia Competition 2025, securing 8th rank in its first-ever participation.

India achieved a major milestone on the global skills stage when it made its debut at the WorldSkills Asia Competition (WSAC) 2025, securing an impressive 8th place among 29 participating countries . In its first attempt at competing against the region’s leading skills ecosystem, India demonstrated outstanding discipline, innovation, and global standards in high-demand and emerging trades. Led by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), NSDC and other technical partners handled the training and preparation. The Indian team comprised 23 participants , competing in 21 skill categories . They were supported by 21 experts. The team performed exceptionally well in both traditional and tech-driven skill categories. India won one silver, two bronze medals, and three Medals of Excellence, demonstrating the country’s rapidly growing recognition in global skills excellence. Medal Achievements :

This recognition recognizes the cultural, culinary and traditional craftsmanship of Arunachal Pradesh that is embodied in these unique products, which symbolize the state’s rich heritage.
3 China’s ‘Arctic Express’ route opens — why India needs to strengthen its maritime corridors

The ” Arctic Express ” route launched by China has the potential to completely transform the global shipping landscape. This new sea route reduces travel time between Asia and Europe via the Northern Sea Route (NSR) to just 18 days, making it much faster and safer than traditional routes—such as the Suez Canal or the Cape of Good Hope . It is a key component of China’s “Polar Silk Road ” strategy. For India, this shift signals a need to further strengthen its maritime corridors, enhance cooperation with strategic partners like Russia, and secure its place in the new map of global trade. The “Arctic Express” is China’s first commercial Arctic shipping service, connecting the Ningbo–Zhoushan port with the UK’s Felixstowe port. This route reduces travel time from 40+ days to 18 days, reducing logistics costs and carbon emissions by approximately 50%.
4 India’s GDP sees a massive jump, growing at 8.2% in the second quarter of FY26

India’s economy recorded a robust 8.2% GDP growth in the second quarter (July–September) of FY2025–26 . The data was released by the National Statistical Office (NSO), under the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation (MoSPI). This growth is significantly higher than the 5.6% growth recorded in Q2 FY25, the same period last year, indicating a revival of economic activity across key sectors.
5 C-DOT signs MoU with IIT Roorkee to set up CoE in Uttarakhand

In November 2025 , the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) , a major Research and Development (R&D) centre of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee), Uttarakhand , to set up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Advanced Communication Technology at the IIT Roorkee campus in Uttarakhand. The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), C-DOT, and Professor K.K. Pant, Director, IIT Roorkee.
6 NBBL launches “Banking Connect” to simplify digital banking

In November 2025 , NPCI Bharat BillPay Limited (NBBL) , a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) , launched “ Banking Connect ,” an interoperable net banking platform designed to transform online merchant payments by eliminating multiple integrations, enabling biometric authentication , and providing real-time Reserve Bank of India (RBI) monitoring of fund flows . The platform was unveiled during the Global Fintech Festival 2025 in the presence of the RBI Governor.
7 13 new amphibian species discovered in North-East India

In November 2025, researchers from the Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehradun, made a major discovery by identifying 13 new bush frog species (genus Raorchestes) in the Eastern Himalaya and Indo-Burma Biodiversity Hotspot of North-East India . The study, published in Vertebrate Zoology (DOI: 10.3897/vz.75.e148133) on November 19, 2025, analysed 204 specimens collected from 81 localities (2016-2024) spread across 8 states and 25 protected areas – this is the largest single vertebrate species description from India in over a decade. List of 13 new species: Arunachal Pradesh (6) : R. orientalis (Eastern Bush Frog), R. Meghalaya (3): R. mawsynramensis (Mawsynram Bush Frog), R. boulengeri (Boulenger Bush Frog), R. narpuhensis (Narpuh Bush Frog, Narpuh WLS).
