  • Recent global manufacturing risk index (Global Manufacturing Risk Index ) 202l India in the US on the world stage, leaving the second most sought-after manufacturing destination has become. In the index released last year, America was at second place while India was at third place. The index of US-based property consultant Cushman & Wakefield ( Cushman & Wakefield is issued). Global Manufacturing Risk Index, China in 2021remains in the first place while the US has reached the third place. The improvement in the ranking reflects the growing interest by manufacturers towards India as a preferred manufacturing hub as compared to other countries including the US and countries in the APAC region. It assesses the most profitable locations for global manufacturing in 47 countries in Europe, the Americas and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) .
  1. Joint exercise of armies of India and Kazakhstan will begin in Ayesha Bibi area
  • As a part of military diplomacy and strengthening the growing strategic ties with Kazakhstan, the 5th edition of the ‘ India-Kazakhstan Joint Training Initiative ‘ will be held at Training Node, Aisha Bibi, Kazakhstan from 30 August to 11 September 2021. It is a joint training exercise between the armies of the two countries that will strengthen the bilateral ties between India and Kazakhstan. The joint military exercise will help both armies to deal with terrorist infiltration in mountainous areas, understand the rural scenario. The joint exercise will help in building trust and sharing best experiences between the armies of the two countries.

  • India’s complex mission to bring back Indian citizens and Afghan alliesfrom Afghanistan has been named ‘ Operation Devi Shakti ‘. The name of this campaign came to light when External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar made a tweet. On 16 August, a day after the Taliban captured the Afghan capital city, India began a complex evacuation mission by airlifting 40 Indians from Kabul to Delhi. India has so far evacuated more than 800 people amid the deteriorating security situation in Kabul and the scuffle by various countries to save its citizens.

  • The Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman reviewed the performance of 12 public sector banks at an annual review meeting in Mumbai . He released the Enhanced Penetration and Service Specification – (EASE) 3.0 report and presented EASE 3.0 awards to the best performing public sector banks . The Finance Minister presented Ease 3.0 Awards to Canara Bank, Punjab National Bank, Union Bank of India, Bank of Baroda and State Bank of India for their achievements in Clean and Smart Banking . On this occasion, he introduced EZ 4.0.also started. EZ is a joint reform mechanism for Public Sector Banks with an objective to organize Clean and Smart Banking.

  • Tele-consultation services have been provided to more than one crore people across the country through e-Sanjeevani . According to the Union Health Ministry, 75 thousand patients are being served daily through e-Sanjeevani facility. The facility has grown by over 1,000 percent in the last 10 months. In fact, the national telemedicine service e-Sanjeevani has rapidly become the most popular and largest telemedicine service in the country. E-Sanjeevani has been widely adopted by patients as well as doctors and specialists across the country. The National Telemedicine Service has conducted over 10 million tele-consultations across India in a record time. E-Sanjeevani has been rapidly adopted by patients, doctors and experts across the country.

  • The Ministry of Jal Shakti launched Sujalam , a 100-day campaign as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations . It aims to bring more and more villages under ODF plus category by doing waste water management at village level. One million soak-pits will be built during this campaign. The ministry said that the effort of this campaign is to bring villages across the country in the ODF+ category at a rapid pace in a short span of time. This campaign will run for the next 100 days. The ministry said that the campaign will help in the management of waste water. It will accelerate the activities of Phase II of Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin through community participation and create awareness about ODF-plus activities. The objective of this campaign is to increase access to toilets for all new households in the village.
