India has achieved a significant global milestone in the field of Artificial Intelligence . According to the Global AI Vibrancy Tool (2024) report released by Stanford University , India has now become the third best AI country in the world after the United States and China . This achievement is particularly noteworthy because in just one year, India was ranked 7th in 2023 and in 2024, it has jumped to the third position. The Global AI Vibrancy Index is an index prepared by Stanford University, which measures how competitive different countries are in the field of AI.

Jose Antonio Kast has become the new President of Chile . According to information given by the election officials, Kast, the candidate of the right-wing Republican Party, has won a big victory in the second round of the presidential election. According to the Chilean Election Commission, 99.33 percent votes were counted in the run-off. Kast got 58.18 percent votes out of 99.33. Whereas Jeanette Jara, the candidate of Chile’s ruling left-wing coalition, got 41.82 percent votes.
3 Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) to set up 3,000-acre research and development campus

The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) is planning to build a large research and development (R&D) campus in Andhra Pradesh . This project is a significant step towards strengthening India’s nuclear science and advanced reactor technology . The proposed campus will be located in the Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh and will cover approximately 3,000 acres . According to documents reviewed by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, BARC has sought permission from the Andhra Pradesh government to use 148.15 hectares of forest land for the project. This new campus will support BARC’s growing role in nuclear research, reactor development, and advanced energy technologies. This move comes at a time when the government is emphasizing indigenous nuclear innovation and clean energy solutions.

5 Veerangana Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh’s third cheetah habitat

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced the establishment of a new cheetah habitat in the Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve in Nauradehi , Sagar district, before the next monsoon . The state cabinet has given in-principle approval to develop the Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve as Madhya Pradesh ‘s third tiger reserve . The first cheetah habitat will be established in Kuno National Park, Sheopur, in September 2022 , while the second will be established in Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary, Mandsaur , in April 2025. Kuno National Park currently has 28 cheetahs, while Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary has two, and this number is expected to increase further in the future. Eight more cheetahs are expected to be reintroduced to Kuno National Park from Botswana in January 2026. The Chief Minister stated that India, and Madhya Pradesh in particular, is the only place in the world where cheetah relocation has been successful.

Prafulla Govinda Barua was known as a pillar of Assamese journalism. Born on July 26, 1932, in Dibrugarh, Barua dedicated his life to strengthening print journalism in Northeast India. He was the son of Radha Govinda Barua, founder of The Assam Tribune , and carried forward his father’s legacy, establishing the newspaper as a credible and fearless voice of the people. In 2018 , the Government of India honored him with the Padma Shri for his incomparable contributions to journalism, education, and literature, a moment of pride for the media fraternity of Assam. The same year, Krishna Kanta Handike State Open University also honored his lifelong contributions by conferring an honorary doctorate on him .
