1.Repo rate hiked by half a percentage point to 4.9 percent, inflation forecast for the year 2023 at 6.7 percent

2.RBI hikes personal housing loan limits for co-operative banks

The Reserve Bank of India has increased the existing limit of personal housing loans . This facility will also be available to co-operative banks. The Reserve Bank of India has said in a statement that for primary urban co-operative banks – UCBs , this limit has been doubled from 30 lakh to 60 lakh for tier I cities and from 70 lakh to one crore 40 lakh for tier II cities.has been done. This limit has been fixed from 20 lakhs to 50 lakhs for rural cooperative banks with a total amount of less than one hundred crore rupees. Whereas, for the remaining rural cooperative banks, this limit has been increased from 30 lakhs to 75 lakhs. The Reserve Bank has said that the limits for primary co-operative banks were increased in 2011 and housing loans in 2009. Keeping this in view, this year also the limit of such loans has been increased.

3.RBI proposes to allow linking of credit cards with UPI system

The Reserve Bank of India has proposed to allow linking of credit cards with the UPI system . The Reserve Bank has said that this facility will be started for Rupay credit cards first. But before that, necessary reforms will be done in the existing system. The Reserve Bank said that UPI is the most inclusive mode of payment in India with 26 crore users and over five crore merchants. In the month of May 2022 itself, 594 crore 43 lakh deals of about Rs 10.50 lakh crore were done through UPI.

20.Maharashtra approves new reserve and wildlife sanctuary
