1 India’s GDP projected to grow at 6.8 per cent in FY25: S&P Global Ratings

S&P Global Ratings  on Tuesday said that  the Indian economy  could grow at a rate of 6.8 percent in FY25 . At the same time,  this rate  is estimated to be 6.9 percent in FY26. This is due to strong urban consumption, stable growth rate of the service sector and increased investment in infrastructure. The estimate of India’s growth rate in FY25 by S&P Global Ratings  is higher than the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) estimate of 6.6 percent . The report of the global credit ratings  agency   said that the GDP growth rate is expected to increase to 7 percent in FY27. Apart from this, it said that Indian GDP will remain the fastest growing economy in the world in the current financial year as well as in the coming years.

2 One Nation, One Subscription plan will start from January 1

One Nation, One Subscription scheme  will start  in the country  from   January 1. Under this scheme, about  1.8 crore students  of state-funded higher education institutions including universities and IITs  will benefit. Under the ‘One Nation, One Subscription’ initiative,  access will be available to research papers published in top journals across the world from January 1.  Under the first phase of the ONOS initiative, researchers will be made available more than 13,400 international journals covering science, technology, engineering, medicine, mathematics, management, social sciences. Under this initiative, 451 state-level public universities, 4,864 colleges, 172 institutes of national importance will be among the 6,380 higher education and research institutions that will get access to top journals published by 30 publishers including Elsevier, Springer Nature and Wiley. This initiative has been launched as a central sector scheme at a cost of Rs 6,000 crore for a period of three years.

Punjab  Governor  Gulab Chand Kataria  flagged   off  a two-day People’s Walk  as part of  Nasha Mukt Rangla Punjab Campaign to promote  a drug-free Punjab  . The walk was flagged off from  Vyas village  in Jalandhar  district  , the village of world-renowned 113-year-old Indian marathon runner Fauja Singh  . He walked 8 kms with the Governor. Describing marathon runner Fauja Singh as a symbol of a drug-free India, the Governor called upon the people to join the walk and support the society in making Punjab drug-free.

5 Gaganyaan Mission: ISRO carried out ‘well deck’ recovery operation with Navy

Big news has come about India’s  first human mission Gaganyaan  . For the Gaganyaan mission, ISRO has  conducted ‘ well deck ‘  recovery operation trials  with the Indian Navy  . Well deck recovery trials of the crew module were conducted using a well deck ship off the coast of Visakhapatnam at the Eastern Naval Command. Actually, India aims  to send astronauts 400 km above by 2025.  The first batch of the crew recovery team of ISRO’s ‘Mission Gaganyaan’ has been trained in various sea conditions by a team of naval divers and marine commandos at the Navy’s Water Survival Training Facility (WSTF) in Kochi. According to ISRO, the Gaganyaan project envisages  a crew of three members for a three-day mission  by launching them into an orbit of 400 km and landing in Indian sea waters. After this, it is envisaged to demonstrate human space flight capability by bringing them back safely to Earth. This trained team will join the launch team of ISRO’s ‘Mission Gaganyaan’.

7 Prime Minister Modi congratulates the Indian contingent for its historic performance at the 10th Asia Pacific Deaf Games-2024

Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  has   congratulated the Indian contingent for its historic performance at the  10th Asia Pacific Deaf Games-2024  held in  Kuala Lumpur . Shri Modi  praised the talented players who made the country proud  by winning 55 medals . This is India’s best ever performance in these games. India’s 68-member team  won  eight gold, 18 silver and 29 bronze medals and ranked fifth among 21 countries  . This is the country’s best ever performance in these games since they began in 1984. The Asia Pacific Deaf Games are held every four years.

8 India finished sixth in the Asian Women’s Handball Championship in Delhi

India finished sixth  in  the Asian Women’s Handball Championship   in  Delhi . In the deciding match for fifth-sixth place, China defeated India 41-30.  Japan won the title of this championship by defeating South Korea  . In the final, Japan won 25-24 in a close match. Kazakhstan defeated Iran and secured third place. Iran remained at fourth place.

9 ICC banned America’s National Cricket League

The International Cricket Council (ICC)  has  banned   America  ‘s  National Cricket League (NLC) . The ICC wrote a letter to the United States of America Cricket (USAC)  informing them of its decision not to approve future editions of the league. According to ICC rules, every team playing in the league should have at least 7 American players in its playing eleven, but in many matches 6-7 foreign players were fielded. Drop-in pitches were used in the matches, which were very bad. The pitches were so bad that Wahab Riaz and Tymal Mills had to bowl spin so that the batsmen would not get hurt.

10 At the age of 9, Aarith Kapil became the first Indian to defeat a 66-year-old Grandmaster

Delhi  -based chess player  Aarjit Kapil   has become  the first Indian to defeat  a 66-year-old Grandmaster  . He is just 9 years, 2 months and 18 days old and  has defeated  American Grandmaster Rased Ziyatdinov, who is 57 years older than him. He is the third youngest player in the world to defeat a Grandmaster in classical time control  . In this case, Indian-origin Ashwath Kaushal of Singapore has defeated a Grandmaster at the age of 8 years 6 months and Leonid Ivanovic of Serbia has defeated a Grandmaster at the age of 8 years 11 months. Ziyatdinov is a master of white pieces, but Aarjit answered his every move and defeated him in the 63rd move. He was also a part of the 61st National Championship held in Gurugram in August. However, his rank was 183rd then.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted and enacted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948. Former Karnataka Chief  Minister  and former Union Minister S. M. Krishna  passed away. He was 92 years old and was ill for a long time. S. M. Krishna held many prominent positions during his illustrious political career. He was the Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1999 to 2004  and  the Foreign Minister of India from 2009 to 2012. He  was also the 18th Governor of Maharashtra  between 2004 and 2008  .
