1 India’s Unified Payment Interface – UPI will also be launched in Maldives, Maldives President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu took the decision

Maldives  President  Dr. Mohammed Muizzu has decided to launch  India’s  Unified Payment Interface – UPI (Unified Payment Interface) in his country  . The President’s Office has announced that this decision has been taken on the recommendation of the Cabinet. The move is expected to bring significant benefits to the Maldives economy, including increasing financial inclusion, improving the efficiency of financial transactions and enhancing digital infrastructure. After the implementation of UPI facility in Maldives, Indian tourists will be able to transact in Indian Rupees from UPI-enabled apps without the hassle of currency exchange.

2 Regional connectivity scheme UDAN completes eight years, Civil Aviation Ministry had launched the scheme on 21 October 2016

Regional Connectivity Scheme – Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) has completed eight years  since its launch   . The Civil Aviation Ministry  launched this scheme on 21 October 2016.  The UDAN scheme focuses on improving travel in areas of the country where air traffic was not operating. Its aim is to fulfill the aspirations of the common citizens. Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  inaugurated the first flight service  under it  on 27 April 2017 .

3 India-Türkiye Friendship Association launched in Hyderabad

The India-Turkey Friendship Association (ITFA) was  inaugurated  in Hyderabad  on  October 16, 2024  , with the aim of promoting cooperation between India and Turkey in the fields of economic, cultural, tourism, science and technology, and education. The timing of this initiative is particularly significant as both regions are celebrating historical milestones— 300 years of the Asaf Jahi dynasty in Hyderabad  and  100 years of the abolition of the Ottoman Sultanate and Caliphate in Turkey .

Prabowo Subianto  has  taken over as the President  of  Indonesia, the world’s third largest democracy  . 73-year-old Mr Prabowo has formally become the eighth President of the world’s most populous Muslim country. In the elections held on February 14, former special forces commander Prabowo Subianto received about sixty percent of the votes.

6 Dialysis will be free in government hospitals of Haryana

Haryana  Chief  Minister  Naib Singh Saini  has fulfilled his first election promise by taking an important step. CM Saini said that serious kidney patients will get free dialysis facility in all government hospitals of the state. The Chief Minister said that in all government hospitals of the state, free dialysis facility will be provided to patients suffering from serious kidney disease. After assuming office, he first signed the file of decision related to patients suffering from kidney disease.

11 Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup: New Zealand beat South Africa by 32 runs to win the title for the first time

 In  the Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup, New Zealand  won  its first title by defeating South Africa  by  32 runs  in  Dubai  under the leadership of  captain Sophie Devine  . New Zealand gave South Africa a target of 159 runs. In response, the South African team could score only 126 runs at the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated twenty overs. Captain Laura Wolvaardt scored the highest 33 runs for South Africa. For New Zealand, Rosemary Meyer and Amelia Kerr took three wickets each while Aiden Carson, Fran Jonas and Brooke Halliday took one wicket each.  Amelia Kerr was  selected as the Player of the Series and Player of the Match.

12 India’s Arjun Kadhe and Ritwik Bolipalli won the men’s doubles title at the Almaty Open-2024 tennis tournament

 Arjun Kadhe and Rithvik Bolippalli  of  India won the men’s doubles title  at  the Almaty Open 2024 tennis tournament in  Kazakhstan   . Kadhe and Bolippalli defeated Nicolas Barrientos of Colombia and Skander Mansouri of Tunisia in the super tiebreaker. Kadhe and Bolippalli defeated Jacob Schnatter and Mark Wallner of Germany in the semi-finals.

13 National Para-Swimming Championship: Lakhan Singh of Rajasthan won gold medal in men’s S-4 100m freestyle event

Lakhan Singh  of   Rajasthan  won  the   gold medal in the men’s S-4 100m freestyle event  at the National Para-Swimming Championships  in  Panaji . Kamal Kant of Odisha  and  Balraj of Haryana  won silver and bronze medals in the event. In the S-5 100m freestyle, Odisha’s Narhari   scored a special victory by defeating  Lakshmarao of Andhra Pradesh  and  Shams Alam of Bihar . Maharashtra player Chaitanya Biswas dominated the S-6 100m freestyle and won the gold medal. Apart from this, Karnataka made a strong presence in the S-7 and S-8 categories  with Tejas and Sridhar winning gold medals   . In the S-9 and S-10 categories, Karnataka’s Sahil Rajaram and Army’s Kapil Kumar performed remarkably and won gold medals.
