5.The limit of tax-free gratuity doubled to 20 lakh; :-The labor ministry has informed on Thursday that the limit of tax-free gratuity has been increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh. This step will benefit those employees who are not covered under the Gratuity Payment Act, 1972.

In a statement issued by the Labor Ministry, “The Finance Ministry has increased the income tax exemption limit for gratuity under Section 10 (10) (3) of the Income Tax Act, 1961 to Rs 20 lakh.” Labor Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar said in a statement that this step will benefit the employees of the public sector undertakings and others who are not covered under the provisions of the Gratuity Act, 1972. He also thanked Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for this.

Under the Gratuity Act, 1972, the Gratuity limit has been increased for the first time, in which the ability of the employer to keep and pay employees and pay salaries to employees is taken into account. The tax free gratuity limit has already been increased to Rs 20 lakh for employees working in the government and organized sector and employees who are covered under the Gratuity Act.

6.Driving License, Vehicle Registration Certificate will be in the card format:-
