The Ministry of Defense has decided to allow retired Army Short Service Commission – SSC officers to use the sanctioned military ranks . Till now, even after fulfilling the terms and conditions of service, such officers were not allowed to use the rank. This was causing dissatisfaction among SSC officers. Permanent commission officers are allowed to use such ranks in the same service. The ministry has said that this decision of the government will remove the dissatisfaction of retired SSC officers and encourage the youth to join this service.

The Government of Gujarat has announced the setting up of coaching centers for students desirous of appearing in the entrance examinations of IITs, IIMs and Medical Colleges . Chief Minister Vijay Rupani announced this during the budget session of the Legislative Assembly. He said that for the first time in the state budget, a separate budget has been allocated for coaching centers . These centers will work in collaboration with professional firms and will be set up in four major cities of the state – Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot and Surat. Students of all classes and categories will be admitted on the basis of entrance test in coaching centers and preference will be given to students from poor families.

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) , with several technologies developed in the country, at 300 meters of free space quantum communication(Free-Space Quantum Communication) has been successfully tested. The demonstration used live video conferencing, which took place between two line-of-site buildings within the campus at the Space Applications Center (SAC), Ahmedabad, using quantum-of-encrypted signals. This experiment was done at night to ensure that there is no interference from direct sunlight. This is a major achievement for unconditional secure satellite data-communication using quantum technologies. ISRO has successfully tested free-space quantum communication. It is also called ‘quantum cryptography’ in which messages are transformed into light particles and sent in such a way that no one can hack them.

In order to further promote animal husbandry and veterinary sector in Andhra Pradesh , the state government operated India’s first ‘ veterinary ambulance network for animals’It has been decided to establish ‘. The state animal husbandry department has been directed to set up a mobile ambulance veterinary clinic in each assembly constituency. A total of 175 mobile ambulance (veterinary) clinics will be set up in all the assembly constituencies on the lines of providing veterinary services at home to the people of the state. These mobile ambulances will provide veterinary first aid services and will also have facilities to deal with emergency situations. One veterinarian and one para-veterinary worker will be deployed in each mobile ambulance. A 24-hour toll-free call center will also be present in these ambulances.

The government is considering making rules to promote the use of ‘ Flexible Fuel Vehicles ‘ to ensure the use of biofuels in all types of vehicles soon . Flexible fuel vehicle is a modified version of vehicles that can be used with both petrol and ethanol. It is currently being successfully used in Brazil and provides people with the option to switch to fuel (petrol and ethanol) based on price and convenience. Most vehicles sold in Brazil are flexible fuel vehicles. Current regulations allow up to 10 percent ethanol to be added to petrol. Although 10 percent of mixed petrol is available only in 15 states due to low supply and other transport challenges, in other states the quantity is between 0 and 5 percent.
