1 Jammu and Kashmir: Infiltration foiled in Keran sector of Kupwara, 2 terrorists killed in ‘Operation Pimple’

The Indian Army foiled a major infiltration bid near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Keran sector of Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir . Indian Army soldiers killed two terrorists under Operation ‘Pimple’ . According to the Army, Operation ‘Pimple’ has been launched to stop infiltration by terrorists coming from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) . Kupwara district is located close to the LoC and has long been an infiltration hotspot. Several infiltration bids have been foiled in the Kupwara and Baramulla sectors so far in 2025. Earlier, under ‘Operation Sindoor’, India had attacked terrorist camps in Pakistan, following which tension has increased on the border.
2 President Draupadi Murmu to hold bilateral talks with Angolan President Joao Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço in Luanda

President Draupadi Murmu has arrived in Angola on the first leg of a two-nation state visit to Africa . This is the first state visit by an Indian head of state to Angola . The two countries are celebrating the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year, making this visit significant. This is the second high-level meeting between the two countries this year. Earlier in May, the President of Angola visited New Delhi. From November 11th to 13th, President Murmu will travel to Botswana on the second leg of her visit . She will hold bilateral talks with Botswana President Duma Boko. During the visit, which will last from November 8th to 13th, bilateral relations will be reviewed and possibilities for cooperation in new areas will be discussed. Discussions are expected to focus on trade, defense, health, infrastructure diversification, and people-to-people ties.

The new Vande Bharat Express trains will operate on the Banaras-Khajuraho, Lucknow-Saharanpur, Firozpur-Delhi, and Ernakulam-Bengaluru routes. By significantly reducing travel time between key destinations, these trains will enhance regional mobility, boost tourism, and support economic activity across the country.
4 India’s first digital tribal freedom fighter museum

The Prime Minister inaugurated India ‘s first digital museum, the Martyr Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and Tribal Freedom Fighter Museum, in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, Chhattisgarh . Key features of the first digital museum include: Its wooden carved entrance gate was created by artisans from Surguja. Fourteen tribal rebellions are depicted through digital leaves. It depicts prominent tribal movements such as the Halba Rebellion (Chhattisgarh) and the Surguja Rebellion (Chhattisgarh). The museum displays statues of tribal heroes such as Birsa Munda and Gend Singh. Veer Narayan Singh was born in Sonakhan (Chhattisgarh) in 1795. His father, landowner Ramsai Singh, rebelled against British and Bhosale rule in 1818–19. He was a prominent leader of the Binjhwar tribe and was renowned as a just, compassionate, and public-spirited ruler.
5 Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) signs MoU with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) , the premier R&D centre of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) , Ministry of Communications, Government of India , and the Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar (IIT-GN), one of the premier institutions established by the Government of India . The objective of this MoU is to establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) to promote cutting-edge research, innovation, and indigenous product development in the field of telecommunications and cybersecurity. C-DOT’s Centre of Excellence initiative aims to accelerate India’s leadership in telecommunications and technology by synergizing C-DOT’s expertise with the academic excellence of prestigious institutions. The Centre will serve as a hub for both fundamental and applied research, aiming to achieve excellence in C-DOT’s existing areas of expertise in key areas such as mobile communications, cybersecurity, quantum communications, advanced artificial intelligence, and advanced telecommunications applications.

A week ago, Ilamparthi A.R. of Chennai became India’s 90th Grandmaster. Ilamparthi achieved the Grandmaster norm at the Bijeljina Open 2025 in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Before him, S. Rohit Krishna became the 89th Grandmaster after crossing the 2500 rating in August. The Grandmaster norm is the highest chess ranking awarded by FIDE.

Born in Chicago in 1928, Watson studied at the University of Chicago before continuing his research at Cambridge . James Watson, along with Crick, discovered the structure of DNA using X-ray images of Rosalind Franklin .
