
The 8th edition of the joint military exercise ‘ Shakti ‘ between India and France will be held from June 18 to July 1 at La Cavalerie in France . The aim of the exercise is to enhance the joint military capability of both sides to undertake multi-domain operations in sub-conventional scenario. The joint exercise will help in developing interoperability, camaraderie and harmony between the armies of the two countries, the Indian Army said in a social media post.
2 First Indian and US Special Forces Exercise ‘Tiger Claw’ concluded

The first joint military exercise ” Tiger Claw ” between the Indian Air Force and the United States Air Force Special Forces concluded successfully at the Garuda Regimental Training Centre . The Special Forces of the Indian Air Force are also known as Garuda. Exercise Tiger Claw was conducted across North India from 26 May to 10 June 2025. The main objective of this exercise was to expand partnerships, mutual exchange of best practices in special operations and conduct joint training between the two air forces to develop interoperability.
3 Cabinet approves rail projects worth Rs 6,405 crore to enhance connectivity in three states

The central government has decided to double two railway sections of Jharkhand and Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh . The government has decided to convert the Koderma-Barkakana section of Jharkhand and the Ballari-Chikjajpur single line section connecting Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh into double line. Both these projects will cost about Rs 6400 crore . These schemes have been made to promote multi-modal connectivity and economic development under the PM Gatishakti National Master Plan.

5 Iran’s nuclear chief confirmed, Russia will set up 8 nuclear plants in Iran

Iran has announced that Russia will build eight new nuclear power plants on its territory , which are part of previously signed bilateral agreements. The announcement was made by Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Chairman Mohammad Islami when members of parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee visited AEOI headquarters in Tehran. The move is part of Iran’s strategy to triple its civilian nuclear energy capacity and Russia’s Rosatom company is a key partner in this.
6 IREDA raises Rs 2,005 crore through qualified institutional placement

In a major step towards accelerating India’s clean energy transition , the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) has successfully raised funds worth ₹2,005.90 crore through a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) . The infusion will boost the agency’s ability to finance green energy projects and strengthen its capital adequacy and financial footing. IREDA completed the QIP issue of ₹2,005.90 crore between June 5 and June 10, 2025. The move comes after the IPO in November 2023, reflecting investor confidence. The funds raised will be used to strengthen Tier-I capital and enhance renewable energy financing.
7 World Day Against Child Labour

World Day Against Child Labour is celebrated every year on 12 June all over the world. This year the aim is to intensify efforts to prevent exploitation of children and eliminate child labour. The theme for 2025 is “ Progress is evident, but there is more to be done: let us intensify our efforts! ”. A report released by the International Labour Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund states that there were about 138 million child labourers in the year 2024. Of these, about 54 million children were engaged in such dangerous work which is detrimental to their health, safety and development.
