1.ब्रिटेन ने 2016 में अधिकतम कार्य वीजा भारतीयों को जारी किए :-

(I)जारी आंकड़ों के मुताबिक, पिछले साल यूके में रहने और काम करने के लिए भारतीय नागरिकों को अधिकतम कुशल श्रम वीजा जारी किए गए थे।

(II)पिछले वर्ष दिए गए कुल कुशल कार्य वीजा के 58 प्रतिशत भारतीयों को थे- कुल 93,566 में से 53,863।

(III)अमेरिकियों को दूसरे सबसे ज्यादा 9,255 वीजा जारी किये गये।

 

2.भारत की पहली अंडरवाटर रेल सुरंग का निर्माण संपन्न :-

(I)हुगली नदी के नीचे चल रही भारत की पहली अंडरवाटर रेल सुरंग की बोरिंग जुलाई की निर्धारित समय सीमा से पहले खत्म हो गई है।

(II)सुरंग 16.6 किमी है, जिसमें से 10.8 किमी भूमिगत है। इस 10.8 किमी में से, 502 मीटर पानी के नीचे जो पश्चिम में हावड़ा और पूर्व में साल्ट लेक को जोड़ती है।

(III)इसमें 12 स्टेशन होंगे और छह भूमिगत होंगे। संपूर्ण परियोजना की अनुमानित लागत 5,000 करोड़ रुपये है।

 

3.मुंबई, कोटा दुनिया के सबसे भीड़ भरे शहरों में :-

(I)विश्व आर्थिक मंच (डब्ल्यूईएफ) ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र-आवास डेटा का हवाला देते हुए कहा कि दुनिया के सबसे भीड़-भाड़ वाले शहरों में ढाका शीर्ष स्थान पर है जबकि दो भारतीय शहरों – मुंबई और कोटा का नाम भी इसमें रखा गया है।

(II)44,500 व्यक्ति प्रति वर्ग किलोमीटर जनसंख्या घनत्व के साथ बांग्लादेश की राजधानी ढाका धरती पर सबसे भीड़ भराशहर है, इसके बाद भारत की वित्तीय राजधानी मुंबई 31,700 व्यक्ति प्रति वर्ग किलोमीटर के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर है।

(III)राजस्थान का कोटा 12,100 लोग प्रति वर्ग किलोमीटर के साथ सातवें स्थान पर रहा।

 

4.दस्तावेजों के डिजिटल प्रमाणन के लिए सरकार ने ई-सनद की शुरुआत की :-

(I)सरकार ने विदेश जाने वाले वालों के दस्तावेजों को प्रमाणित करने की प्रक्रिया को डिजिटाइज करने की एक सेवा की घोषणा की है, ताकि वे इस प्रयोजन के लिए सरकारी कार्यालयों में जाकर परेशान ना हों।

(II)दो अन्य मंत्रालयों के साथ-साथ विदेश मंत्रालय (विदेश मंत्रालय) की पहल ‘ई-सनद’ सेंट्रल बोर्ड ऑफ सेकंडरी एजुकेशन (सीबीएसई) की मदद से स्कूल लीविंग प्रमाण पत्र से शुरु होगी।

(III)बाद के चरणों में, पोर्टल केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालयों से भी दस्तावेजों को जोडेगा।

(IV)केन्द्रीय माध्यमिक शिक्षा बोर्ड (सीबीएसई) ई-सनद को लागू करने के लिए विदेश मंत्रालय के साथ भागीदारी करने वाला पहला शिक्षा बोर्ड बन गया है।

 

5.एसबीआई ने राष्ट्रीय हैकाथॉन ‘कोड फॉर बैंक’ की शुरूआत की :-

(I)बैंकिंग क्षेत्र के लिए नवीन विचारों और समाधानों हेतु स्टेट बैंक ऑफ इंडिया (एसबीआई) ने डेवलपर्स, स्टार्टअप्स व छात्रों के लिए एक राष्ट्रीय हैथॉन शुरू किया है।

(II)‘कोड फॉर बैंक’ नामक हैकाथॉन, अनुमान विश्लेषिकी, फिन-टेक / ब्लॉकचैन, डिजिटल भुगतान, आईओटी, कृत्रिम बुद्धि, मशीन लर्निंग, बीओटीएस और रोबोट प्रोसेस ऑटोमेशन जैसे प्रौद्योगिकी चालित व्यवसाय मूल्य पर केंद्रित होगा।

 

6.आईआईटी-केजीपी ने प्रसन्नता को मापने के लिए एमपी के साथ समझौता किया :-

 

(I)आईआईटी खड़गपुर की रेखी सेंटर ऑफ एक्सिलेंस फॉर दी हैप्पीनैस ने राज्य सरकार के लोगों के कल्याण को मापने हेतु एक हैप्पीनैस सूचकांक के विकास के लिये मध्य प्रदेश सरकार के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।

(II)आईआईटी-केजीपी इंडेक्स का विकास करेगा और राज्य सरकार द्वारा एकत्र किए गए आंकड़ों का विश्लेषण करेंगे जो प्रसन्नता के स्तर का आकलन करेगा और प्रसन्नता को बढ़ाने के लिए इस्तेमाल किए जा सकने वाली सिफारिशों को तैयार करेगा।

(III)आईआईटी-केजीपी 30,000 से अधिक लोगों के डेटाबेस से उपयुक्त स्वयंसेवकों को स्क्रीन करने और पहचानने के लिए एक ऑनलाइन स्क्रीनिंग और मूल्यांकन प्रणाली का भी विकास करेगा।

 

7.Amul Thapar: Second Indian Judge to US Circuit Court of Appeals :-

(I)United States senate has confirmed Amul Thapar as a judge to the Cincinnati-based Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

(II)With this appointment he has become only the second Indian-American judge of an appeals court.

(III)Thapar was confirmed by senate by a 52-44 vote.

 

8.NASA’s Juno Spacecraft Discovers Earth-Sized Storms on Jupiter :-

(I)NASA’s Juno spacecraft has discovered Earth-sized cyclones at the poles of the Jupiter.

(II)It has also unveiled the presence of the storm systems that travel deep into the heart of the planet.

(III)Both the poles of the Jupiter were found to be covered with Earth-sized swirling storms which are densely clustered and rubbing together.

 

9.Government Amends Definition of Start-Ups :-

(I)The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), which is the nodal body for Start-up India, has amended the definition of a start-up.

(II)As per the new definition, an entity will be considered as a Start-Up if its turn over is less than Rs 25 crore and has not completed seven years from the date of its incorporation/registration.

 

10.KPS Gill who led Operation Black Thunder Passes Away :-

(I)KPS Gill, an IPS officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre of the 1958 batch, who is often credited with rooting out militancy in Punjab has passed away at the age of 82.

(II)He was known as a ‘super cop’ for his work in the fields of policing and security.

 

11.Government bans Sale of Cattle for Slaughter :-

(I)The Ministry of Environment and Forests have come up with new regulations that bans the sale of cattle for slaughter.

(II)The central regulation for cow protection has been notified at the backdrop of rising cases of violence against cow traders by Hindu vigilante groups.

 

12.Anurag Tripathy Appointed as Secretary of CBSE :-

(I)The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has appointed Anurag Tripathy, a 1998 batch officer of Indian Railway personnel Service (IRPS) as the new secretary of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

 

13.Google’s Rajan Anandan Appointed Chairman of IAMAI :-

(I)Google’s vice-president for South East Asia and India, Rajan Anandan has been appointed as the new chairman of Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).

(II)Rajan will succeed  FreeCharge’s co-founder and chief executive officer Kunal Shah.
