1.Lucknow will become a smart city soon – Rajnath Singh  :-

Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that all efforts are being made for the all-round development of Lucknow. While laying foundation stones of 438 projects worth Rs 938 crore in Lucknow, the Home Minister said that the foundation for the development of Lucknow was laid by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, later he is going to be the President of Lalji Tandon and now he is moving forward. He said that Lucknow has more than 35 lakh population and more than 20 lakh registered vehicles are here. After 25-30 years of work, infrastructure is being worked on. Shri Rajnath Singh said that the announcement of ring road is a link to this.

 

2.India formally requested Antigua administration for extradition of fugitive jewelery trader Mehul Choksi :-

India has formally requested Antigua Administration to extradite Mehboob Choksi, a fugitive jewelery trader of the Punjab National Bank fraud case. Choksi has taken the citizenship of Antigua. Government sources said that for a discussion on the extradition of Choksi, India had sent a team there a few days ago. Earlier, after requesting to know about Choksi being in Antigua, India had requested the Antigas administration to arrest her.

Mehul Choksi and Neerava Modi are involved in the Punjab National Bank fraud case of more than 13 thousand five hundred crore rupees. Choksi went out of India on January 4 this year and took oath of citizenship in Antigua on 15th January.

 

3.North Korea continues its nuclear program in violation of international sanctions: UN report :-

United Nations experts have said in their new report that North Korea has not stopped its nuclear and missile programs. According to the report, North Korea is largely violating United Nations conditions by collecting petroleum items illegally through ships. It has also been reported in the report that North Korea is giving military support to Syria despite the UN sanctions.

 

4.Virat Kohli reached top of batting batsmen’s ICC Test rankings :-

Indian captain Virat Kohli has become the top Test batsman in the rankings of the ICC thanks to the glorious century in the first cricket Test with England in Birmingham. Kohli scored 149 in the first innings and 51 in the first innings in the first Test against England. Ravichandran Ashwin is in fifth place in the rankings for the Gabbaddas.

 

5.The status of the University of Banaras Hindu University has been upgraded to par with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences :-

Institute of Medical Sciences of Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi- IMS All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is being done by increasing the status of the AIIMS. The MoU for this effect was signed by Union Human Resource Development Minister , Union Health and Family Welfare Minister and Uttar Pradesh Government on Saturday in Varanasi.

On this occasion, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said that this is a historic moment and this has made a dream come true. He said BHU IMS Seven hundred extra beds and super-specialty health facilities will be provided in He assured that lack of funds will not be allowed to be given the status of AIIMS to this institution.

 

6.Pakistan rejects 16.7 lakh votes in general elections :-

The Pakistan Election Commission has rejected about 16.7 lakh votes. The Commission said that it was not clear in the ballotting that they were in favor of which party. This time, 11.7 percent more votes were rejected than the 2013 general elections. In 2013, 15 million votes were rejected. There were general elections in Pakistan on July 25. According to Pak Election Commission , more than ten million people in the country are registered to vote. Only 51 percent of them used their franchise.

 

7.Under the monetary scheme in Maharashtra, loans of about 17.5 billion rupees were distributed till July this year :-

Under the Monetary Policy Scheme in Maharashtra, till July this year, loans of about seventy seven thousand thousand crore rupees have been distributed. On April 8, 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Center’s flagship program, Mudra Yojana. Its aim is to provide loans up to Rs 10 lakh to non-corporate and non-agricultural small and micro enterprises. According to the latest data available, loans worth 14.5 thousand crores have been distributed in the state from January to July 2018 in the last seven months. During the same period, the number of approved loan cases in the state has crossed one crore.

 

8.Justice Kalpesh will be the 30th Chief Justice of the Odisha High Court :-

Cuttack Rajasthan High Court Judge Justice Kalpesh Satyendra Zaveri will be the 30th Chief Justice of the Odisha High Court. In this regard, a release was issued on behalf of the Law Ministry on Saturday.

Judge Vinit Sharan, Chief Justice of Odisha High Court, has been appointed as the Judge of the Supreme Court. Justice Zaveri was first appointed in 2004 as a temporary judge in the Gujarat High Court. Subsequently, he was appointed a permanent judge of the Gujarat High Court in the year 2005. In the year 2016, Justice was appointed as the judge of the Rajasthan High Court. Justice Kalpesh Satyendra Javari will take over as the 30th Chief Justice of the Odisha High Court.

 

9.Imran will be the new Prime Minister of Pakistan, PTI will announce today :-

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party will announce its nomination for the cricketer-politician, Imran Khan, for the post of Prime Minister on Monday. Under the leadership of Imran, PTI has got the highest number of seats in parliamentary elections. Geo News quoted party spokesman Fawad Chaudhary as saying that there will be a meeting of party parliamentary party in a Islamabad hotel.

In this meeting, formally Imran will be declared the party’s candidate for the post of Prime Minister. All newly elected MPs of PTI have been asked to be present in this meeting.

Chaudhary said that with the support of Independent MPs, the party has got a majority in the parliament to create a government in Parliament. By joining allies and safe seats, the government will get the support of 174 MPs in the National Assembly.

 

10.Judge Joseph, 7 will take oath as the junior of the newly appointed three judges in the Supreme Court :-

Following a long dispute, Justice KM Joseph Supreme Court judges were appointed, but he will be the junior of the newly appointed three judges. On Tuesday, the three new judges will take oath as the judge of the Supreme Court. Justice Joseph’s name was lowest after Justice Indira Banerjee, Justice Vineet Sharan, after taking the oath in the Supreme Court and the appointment of the seniority of appointment. That is, he is currently the junior judge of the Supreme Court.

 

11.Banks do not have minimum balance, recovery of Rs 11,500 crore :-

With no minimum balance in their accounts, 24 public and private banks of the country have recovered 11,500 crores from the customers in the last four years. In the year 2017-18, State Bank of India alone collected Rs. 2400 crore from the customers in this item.

In a written reply to a question asked in the Lok Sabha, the Finance Ministry has said that the three firms, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank, secured the highest penalty of Rs 590 crore in 2017-18.
