1 Madhav National Park in Shivpuri district has been declared a Tiger Reserve

 On the initiative of  Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav , Madhav National Park  of   Shivpuri  district  has been declared  a Tiger Reserve . The Technical Committee  of the  National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA)  has approved the proposal to notify  Madhav National Park  as a Tiger Reserve. This  will be the eighth Tiger Reserve  of  Madhya Pradesh  . Located near Shivpuri city, this park  was given the status of National Park in 1958.  It was the hunting ground of Mughal emperors and Maharajas.

2 Uttar Pradesh government declared Maha Kumbh area in Prayagraj as a new district

The Uttar Pradesh  government  has declared the Maha Kumbh area  in  Prayagraj as a new district. It will be known as   ‘ Mahakumbh Mela Janpad ‘. Till now there were a total of 75 districts in UP, but now  there are 76 districts. This decision was taken with the aim of making the management and administration of the Kumbh Mela effective. There is a tradition of issuing notification of new districts on the occasion of Kumbh and Ardh Kumbh. This idea was put forward by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the Magh Mela this year. The Maha Kumbh, which is held every 12 years, will begin from January 13 next year and will conclude on February 26. Maha Kumbh has a special contribution in the promotion of Indian culture.

3 International Maritime Conference being held in Chennai from 4 to 6 December

This year’s  International Maritime Conference   is being held in  Chennai from 4  to  6 December . Director General of Shipping Shyam Jagannathan  will be the guest of honour at this conference. Eminent speakers and panel members of international level will discuss the future maritime scenario.  Countries from the US, UK, Germany, Spain and Asia Pacific  will participate in this discussion. This conference  will be held in India after 15 years  . In this conference, the current challenges of the maritime sector and various future developments will be discussed. More than three hundred delegates from across the world will participate in this conference.

4 World’s largest UN conference to combat desertification begins in Riyadh

The world’s largest UN conference   to combat  desertification has begun in  Riyadh  . Global leaders, policy makers and environmental experts are participating in it. This important conference, which will run from December 2 to 13, aims to improve land quality around the world and accelerate drought recovery . The Riyadh Global Drought Resilience Initiative will be launched  during the conference   . This ambitious program seeks to change the way various nations collectively  address drought challenges  . Along with this, hundreds of international experts and business leaders from the green sector will participate in  the Saudi Green Initiative Forum  . The second International Forum on Green Technology will be held from December 6 to 8 during the conference. It will have several sessions focused on exploring the latest advances in environmental technology and conservation practices. Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupendra Yadav planted a tree under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative at the Indian Embassy in Riyadh.

5 India-Malaysia joint military exercise begins at Bentong Camp

The fourth edition of  the India-Malaysia  joint military exercise  Harimau Shakti   began  at Bentong Camp in Pahang district of Malaysia . The exercise will be conducted from 2 December to 15 December 2024.  The Indian contingent comprising 78 personnel is represented by a battalion of the Mahar Regiment. The Malaysian contingent comprising 123 personnel is being represented by the Royal Malaysian Regiment. Joint Exercise Harimau Shakti is an annual training event held alternately in India and Malaysia. The last edition   was held at Umroi Cantonment  in  Meghalaya, India in November 2023.

6 Actor Vikrant Massey announced his retirement from acting

Actor Vikrant Massey, who has proved his acting skills from the small screen to the big screen,  has  now  announced his retirement from the world of acting  in his post . He is in the headlines for his recent film ‘ The Sabarmati Report ‘. PM Modi on Monday watched the film ‘The Sabarmati Report’ based on the Godhra tragedy at the Balayogi Auditorium located in the Parliament House complex.  This film based on the 2002 Godhra incident  was released in theaters on November 15. His acting in the film was well liked. His acting has been appreciated in every film. Earlier, his film ‘ 12th Fail ‘ won the hearts of the audience, in which he played the role of IPS Manoj Sharma, who despite being financially and educationally weak, puts his heart and soul into fulfilling his dreams.

7 Asian Women’s Handball Championship: India is hosting it for the first time

 The 25-member team  led by captain Diksha Kumari will represent India   at   the much-awaited  20th Asian Women’s Handball Championship (AWHC) 2024 , which  begins in  New  Delhi on Tuesday. India is hosting the AWHC  for the first time  and  will go head to head with Asian giants in the event presented by the World Handball League (WHL)  and  organised by the Asian Handball Federation .

8 PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen win Syed Modi Title 2024

Badminton players PV Sindhu  and  Lakshya Sen won  the women’s and men’s singles  titles  respectively at  the Syed Modi International 2024 badminton  tournament  on December 1.  At the same time, women’s doubles pair Trisha Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand  also won the Syed Modi International title. In the women’s singles final match, PV Sindhu, ranked 18th in the world badminton rankings, defeated 119th ranked player Wu Luo Yu of the People’s Republic of China 21-14, 21-16 in straight games. Earlier, he had also won this title in 2017 and 2022. In the final of the men’s singles category, India’s Lakshya Sen won the title by defeating Jia Heng Jason Teh of Singapore 21-6, 21-7 in straight games. The pair of Trisha Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand won this title by defeating the pair of Bao Li Jin and Li Qian of China 21-18, 21-11 in the final match. At the same time,   in  the mixed doubles title match, Paris 2024 Olympians Tanisha Crasto and Dhruv Kapila  lost to Thailand’s Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supisara Peevsampran 21-18, 14-21, 8-21 and the Indian pair missed out on the title.
