1.President Draupadi Murmu to launch Prime Minister’s Tuberculosis Free India Campaign on Friday

Hon’ble President Smt. Draupadi Murmu will launch the Prime Minister’s TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan on 9th September to rejuvenate the mission of eradicating TB from the country by 2025 . Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls upon the country to end tuberculosis five years before the Sustainable Development Goal 2030did. This was stated by Shri Modi at the Delhi End TB Summit in March 2018. The campaign will start in the presence of Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and Minister of State for Health, Dr. Bharti Praveen Pawar. Representatives from state and district health administration, corporate world, industry, civil society and NGOs will participate in this campaign. During the event, President Murmu will launch the Ni-Kshya Mitra portal. It provides a platform for donors to provide various types of support to people undergoing treatment for tuberculosis.

2.Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Kartavya Path and unveil the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at India Gate.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Marg – Kartavya Path to India Gate from Rashtrapati Bhavan in Central Vista . The erstwhile name of this road as a symbol of power center was Rajpath .The duty path has been changed to. Now this name signifies the participation and empowerment of the masses. This entire route has been rebuilt under the ambitious Central Vista Redevelopment Project of the Modi government. Over the past few years, this route and its adjoining Central Vista Avenue area have been under tremendous pressure due to the increasing number of vehicles and this has affected the infrastructure. Public toilets, drinking water, There was lack of basic facilities like seats for people to sit and proper parking of vehicles. Also, the Republic Day Parade and other national programs should be organized in such a way that there is minimum interruption on the movement of people and the inconvenience caused to the general public can be minimized. Keeping these concerns in mind, this route has been redeveloped. On this occasion, Shri Modi will also unveil the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at India Gate. A 28 feet high granite statue has been installed under the umbrella near India Gate. This statue is completely hand made and traditional techniques and modern tools have been used in its construction. This statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose has been installed in place of his hologram statue. The hologram statue was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in January this year on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji.

Samarth e-Governance portal has been launched for comprehensive improvement in higher education of Uttarakhand . State Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat while launching it said that this will bring a revolutionary change in the higher education of the state. He said that also, with the aim of providing quality education to the students, teacher sharing format would be implemented in higher education, under which contract would be signed between private and state universities across the country. He said that in addition to this, departmental officers have been directed to prepare proposals for introducing digital evaluation in the Higher Education Department to bring transparency in the examination results.

5.Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh outpost became 29th district of Chhattisgarh

Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat have topped in the implementation of the Centre’s flagship scheme Poshan Abhiyaan . NITI AayogAccording to the report, Sikkim is at the fore in performing better among smaller states. The report titled ‘Conserving progress at the level of nutrition in India: nutrition campaign in times of pandemic’ states that 12 out of 19 large states have an implementation score of more than 70 percent. According to the report, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu topped the Union Territories. Whereas Punjab and Bihar remained at the bottom of the big states category in terms of complete implementation of the nutrition campaign. It said that in only 17 states and union territories, more than 75 per cent children aged 12 to 23 months have been vaccinated while in 11 states and union territories less than 25 per cent children have been vaccinated.

8.Uttar Pradesh tops in use of e-prosecution portal

Uttar Pradesh , with 9.12 million cases , has topped in the number of disposal and submission of cases through the e-prosecution portal managed by the central government under the Digital India Mission . As of the end of August, Madhya Pradesh came second with 2.31 million, Bihar with 859,000, Gujarat with 487,000 and Chhattisgarh with 383,000 cases. UP also tops the online cases disposal on this portal with around 470,000 entries, followed by Madhya Pradesh with 170,000 and Gujarat with 125,000.

The Union Cabinet has approved the policy of long-term leasing of railway land to implement the Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti Karma Model . Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that with this policy, Railways will get more revenue and about one lakh 20 thousand jobs will be created. He said, 300 PM Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal will also be developed in the next five years. Shri Anurag Thakur said that this would also help in moving more freight from Railways and reduce the logistics cost of the industry. He said that the revised land policy of the Railways would lead to integrated development of infrastructure and development of more cargo terminals. The Information and Broadcasting Minister said that with this policy, land would be used for setting up solar plants on railway land at a nominal cost.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will participate in the India-Japan Defense and Foreign Ministers’ 2+2 dialogue in Tokyo tomorrow. Japan will be represented by Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada and Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi. In this dialogue, mutual cooperation between the two countries will be reviewed and further strategy will be decided. India and Japan are pursuing a Special Strategic and Global Partnership. On the sidelines of the talks, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will hold bilateral talks with the Defense Minister of Japan to further strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries. Mr. Singh will also call on the Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida.

11.Firecrackers will be banned in Delhi in every way till January 1 – Gopal Rai

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has said that the production, storage, sale and use of all types of firecrackers will be banned in the national capital till January 1 next year . In a tweet, Mr Rai said the ban would also apply to online sales or distribution. He said that for this an action plan would be prepared with Delhi Police, Delhi Pollution Control Committee and Revenue Department. Shri Gopal Rai said that this decision has been taken to check pollution.
