1. India ranked 140 in WEF’s Gender Gap Index 2021

World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap Report 2021 of the 156 countries in India 140th ranked 28 places is eroding. In 2020, India was ranked 112 out of 153 countries. Iceland topped the index for the 12th time as the most gender-equal country in the world . Afghanistan in reportIs the worst performing country. India became the third worst performing country in South Asia. Bangladesh has the best performance in South Asia. Among India’s neighbors, Bangladesh ranks 65th, Nepal 106th, Pakistan 153rd, Afghanistan 156th, Bhutan 130th and Sri Lanka 116th. In South Asia, only Pakistan and Afghanistan were below India. Top 10 gender-equal countries –

 2. The Major Contact Master Plan for the Bay of Bengal region was finalized at the meeting of Foreign Ministers of BIMSTEC countries

A major liaison master plan for the Bay of Bengal region was finalized at a virtual meeting of foreign ministers of BIMSTEC countries . The next summit of the seven-member regional group organization of India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Myanmar will formulate a major plan for transport connectivity facilities . The conference will be held soon which will be hosted by Sri Lanka . The meeting recommended three MoUs and agreements related to mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, cooperation between diplomatic and training academies and the establishment of the BIMSTEC Technology Transfer Facility in Colombo.

  1. Railways electrified more than six thousand kilometers of railway lines during the same year 2020-21.

Railways have done electrification of more than six thousand kilometers of railline during the same year 2020-21 , which is a record. Earlier, in the year 2018-19, five thousand kilometers of railway line was electrified, which was the highest work done at that time. Railways have focused more on electrification in recent years with a view to reducing their dependence on imported petroleum-based energy. Electrification has been done more than five times in the last seven years as compared to the period from 2007 to 2014. The major railways that have been electrified during this period include the Mumbai-Howrah, Delhi-Darbhanga-Jayanagar and Chennai-Trichy railways. Ministry of Railways has said that all the railways across the country will be electrified by December 2023 .

There has been a lot of progress in the construction of national highways across the country in the last few years by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways . The Ministry has created a new record in the financial year 2020-21 by constructing 37 km of highways per day , which is unprecedented. The Minister of Road Transport and Highways and MSME is Mr. Nitin Gadkari . In the last 7 years, the length of national highways has increased by 50% from 91,287 km (as of April 2014) to 1,37,625 km (as on 20 March 2021).

Indian Railways is going to start 71 unreserved mail and express train services from Monday . Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said in a tweet that these trains will ensure safe and comfortable journey for passengers. A weekly Rajdhani Superfast Special train will also run between Hazrat Nizamuddin and Secunderabad from Sunday. Indian Railways has one of the most excellent railway networks in the world, Indian Railways has 1,51,000 km of tracks, 7000 stations, 1.3 million employees and 160 years of history. Railways in India started on April 16, 1853 between Bori Bandar and Thana. After that the Indian Railways expanded greatly, the role of the Indian Railways is very important in the economic development of the country.

  1. SBI signs USD1 billion loan agreement with Japan Bank

India’s largest lender, State Bank of India, has raised $ 1 billion from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) for lending to the supply chain of the Japanese automobile industry in India . The loan is in the form of a refinance against the support of funds provided to manufacturers, suppliers and dealers of Japanese automobiles in India. This collaboration between SBI and JBIC will help the bank to provide credit facility throughout the supply chain at a time when people are prioritizing a private mode of transport. Now the total loan facility between SBI and JBIC has increased to $ 2 billion. Earlier in October 2020, SBI entered into a similar agreement with JBIC for $ 1 billion.

  1. RBI extends deadline for implementing auto debit payment by 6 months

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) extended the deadline for processing recurring online transactions by 6 months to September 30, 2021Done. Earlier in December 2020, RBI directed all banks, including RRBs, NBFCs and payment gateways, to make recurring transactions (domestic or cross-border) using cards or prepaid payment instruments (PPI) or Unified Payments Interface (UPI). The resources, if they do not comply with Additional Factor Authentication (AFA), will not continue beyond March 31, 2021. This means that from April 30, 2021, there should have been no automatic recurring payments for various services, including recharge and utility bills, under arrangements / practices that do not comply with AFA. However, banks and payment gateways had sought additional time to follow RBI directives on automatic recurring payments. Keeping this in mind, RBI decided to push the deadline.

  1. Government to take loan of 7.24 lakh crores from market in first half of FY22

The government has decided to borrow Rs 7.24 lakh crore in the first half of FY 2021-22 (FY22) to meet the resources to revive the economy affected by the coronovirus epidemic . This borrowing constitutes 60.06 per cent of the projected gross release for FY 2021-22. As per Budget 2021-22, the estimated gross debt is estimated at Rs 12.05 lakh crore in the financial year commencing from 01 April 2021. The government raises funds from the market to fund its fiscal deficit through dated securities and treasury bills.

  1. Government extends Emergency Credit Facility Guarantee Scheme till June

The Central Government has introduced the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS 3.0) for three months till June 30, 2021, or Rs 3 lakh crore under the scheme.Has been extended till the release of the guarantee. Additionally, the government has also made some amendments to the ECLGS scheme to move towards economic revival. As on February 29, 2020, loans up to 40 percent of the total outstanding loans will be given to various financial institutions. This limit was earlier 20 percent. This facility is for those enterprises whose total debt does not exceed Rs. 500 crores and till February 29, 2020, the outstanding of any loan is 60 days or less as compared to the earlier 30 days. The term of the loan offered under ECLGS 3.0 will be six years. This will include a 2-year moratorium on repayment of principal. In ECLGS 2.0, the tenure was five years with a 12-month deferment. In addition, the scheme also provided an incentive to MLI (member lending institutions) to provide additional funding facilities to eligible beneficiaries. ECLGS will be supported by MSMEs, business enterprises,

  1. Government announces capital investment of Rs 14,500 crore in 4 PSBs

The central government has allocated Rs 14,500 crore to four state-owned lenders such as Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Bank of India and UCO Bank in 2020-21.Has announced to invest. This communication will cater to the total capital communication of Rs 20,000 crore in the public sector banks for the current financial year 2020-21. Earlier in December 2020, it had invested Rs 5,500 crore in Punjab and Sindh Bank. The recapitalization bonds will be issued with six different maturities, and the special securities for the amount will be “at par” according to the application made by eligible banks. Banks need capital to meet the mandatory reserve requirements placed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), make provisions for bad loans and start a lending cycle to revive demand in the economy.

Private sector lender Axis Bank (Axis Bank) said its subsidiary, Axis Bank UK Ltd from Opanped Holdings Limited (OpenPayd agreement Holdings to buy a share for the sale of 100 per cent Ltd.). The agreement was entered into on 31 March 2021, and the transaction is subject to approval by the UK Financial Regulator, the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA). The consideration or value for the transaction will be the full net asset value (the bank’s face value on the date of completion), plus a fixed premium of $ 5,500,000. Axis Bank expects the sale to be completed by 30 September 2021, subject to the approval of ‘Change in Control’ received from the UK Financial Regulator, PRA.

  1. Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation in Uttar Pradesh listed on BSE

Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam) listed itself in the BSE and successfully raised Rs 150 crore by issuing municipal bonds on a private placement basis using the BSE BOND . It is the first green bond issued by any municipal corporation in the country . The money will be used for the construction of a tertiary sewage treatment plant at Indirapuram in Ghaziabad. The money will be partially used to fund the project, which is valued at Rs 240 crore. This treatment plant will enable sewage water to be used for post-treatment industries. Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation is the second municipal corporation to raise funds in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation was listed in the BSE.

Online investment platform Paytm Money has set up a new R&D facility in Pune, Maharashtra , which will drive product innovation, especially in the areas of equity, mutual funds and digital gold. The company said it plans to employ more than 250 engineers and data scientists to create new money products and services. Paytm Money aims to achieve more than 10 million users and 75 million annual transactions in FY21, with the majority of users coming from small cities and towns.

  1. Center withdraws order of interest deduction on small savings schemes

The government has withdrawn its order to reduce interest rates on small savings schemes , including the National Savings Certificate (NSC) and Public Provident Fund (PPF) for the first quarter of 2021-22 . Earlier on 31 March 2021, the Finance Ministry announced a 50-110 basis point reduction in interest rates for small savings schemes. Interest rates for small savings schemes are notified on a quarterly basis. However, the orders issued were withdrawn by the Government on 01 April 2021. This is the fourth consecutive quarter that the government has maintained rates on such schemes which are effective from April 1 and will remain in effect till June 30, 2021.
