1 Mizoram connected to rail network for the first time, PM Modi virtually flagged off 3 trains

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the northeastern states of Mizoram, Manipur and Assam and launched several development projects. These include a new railway line connecting Mizoram’s capital Aizawl to the Indian rail network for the first time . Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday virtually laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several development projects worth more than Rs 9,000 crore in Mizoram. He also inaugurated the 51.38 km long Bairabi-Sairang railway project and three new trains. Built at a cost of about ₹ 8,000 crore, the project is a historic achievement as it will connect the state capital Aizawl to the Indian rail network for the first time. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi flagged off three trains. This shows the central government’s commitment to world-class infrastructure and last-mile connectivity. This railway line is built in a challenging hilly area. For this, 45 tunnels have been built under complex geographical conditions. It also includes 55 big bridges and 88 small bridges. For the first time, Sairang in Mizoram will be directly connected to the national capital Delhi.
2 India will host the 5th Coast Guard Global Summit in Chennai in 2027

India has won the bid to host the 5th Coast Guard Global Summit in 2027 , a significant milestone in its growing maritime leadership. This was announced at the 4th Coast Guard Global Summit held in Rome, Italy . The Indian contingent led by Director General of Indian Coast Guard , Paramesh Sivamani , participated in the summit. 115 countries and organisations participated in the summit to discuss global Coast Guard cooperation. The Coast Guard Global Summit in Chennai in 2027 will also mark the celebration of the Indian Coast Guard Golden Jubilee, which will include a Fleet Review and World Coast Guard Seminar.
3 AIIMS New Delhi launches “AIIMS Disha” app – Now travel of patients and visitors will be easier

Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Chairman of AIIMS, New Delhi, J.P. Nadda on Saturday launched the “ AIIMS Disha” mobile application. It is a state-of-the-art AI and IoT based indoor navigation system , which will ensure seamless, quick and stress-free guidance for patients, visitors and hospital staff. Through this application, users will be able to reach OPD, diagnostic center, pharmacy, billing counter or any department without any confusion and delay.
Key features of the app
- BLE Beacon Network- Sensors installed in various parts of the hospital will provide accurate location signals.
- Digital Maps – Detailed maps with all departments and facilities marked.
- AI based routing – The easiest route will be suggested based on the patient’s location and mobility needs (such as wheelchair).
- Turn-by-turn guidance—both voice and visual, available in multiple languages.
- Offline mode – Navigation possible even when there is no internet connection.
4 Professor Pradeep Kumar Prajapati assumed charge as Director, All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi

Professor Pradeep Kumar Prajapati formally assumed charge as Director of All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi . Prior to this, Prof. Prajapati was working as Vice Chancellor of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurveda University, Jodhpur . He has also been associated with research and academic activities at Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar for a long time. He started his career as Assistant Professor at National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Jaipur.
5 India launches SAJEX 2025 in Jeddah to boost jewellery trade

To deepen bilateral trade between India and Saudi Arabia and enhance India’s presence in the global jewellery sector, Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) has organized the Saudi Arabia Jewellery Exposition (SAJEX) 2025 in Jeddah . The event is being organised in collaboration with the Indian Ministry of Commerce, Indian Embassy (Riyadh) and Indian Consulate (Jeddah) . This initiative is a major step towards strengthening India’s jewellery exports to Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Countries (GCC).
6 Breeding of Asian giant tortoises in Manipur zoo

A historic achievement has been registered in the field of wildlife conservation in India. Manipur Zoological Garden (MZG) in collaboration with India Turtle Conservation Program (ITCP) has successfully carried out artificial incubation of Asian Giant Tortoise (Manouria emys phayrei) for the first time . In the year 2025, 28 baby turtles (hatchlings) came out from a single nest, which is a big step in the conservation of this endangered species.
7 India’s Isha Singh won the gold medal in the 10m air pistol event

India’s Isha Singh has won the gold medal in the 10 meter air pistol event at the ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol Championship being played in Ningbo , China . This is Isha’s first gold medal in the World Cup and with this, India has come to the fifth position in the points table. Isha defeated China’s Yao Qianxun in a thrilling final. South Korea’s Oh Yejin won the bronze medal. Along with India, four other countries are jointly at the fifth position in the medal table with one gold medal.
8 With unprecedented global reach, Goa to host historic 10th Ayurveda Day on 23 September 2025

Ayurveda, India’s traditional system of medicine, is going to get a new identity at the global level, as the 10th Ayurveda Day will be celebrated on 23 September 2025 at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in Goa . This time the theme is – ” Ayurveda for People and Planet ” (Ayurveda for people and earth). This event underlines the fact that Ayurveda is not only an effective health solution but also a sustainable lifestyle in line with modern environmental requirements. For the first time, Ayurveda Day will be celebrated on a fixed date (23 September). Earlier it was celebrated on Dhanvantari Jayanti. This change is an important step towards giving continuity and more recognition to Ayurveda at the international level.
